I would definitely recommend it to friends and family, however I do have a few small qualms with the place. It is a tad pricey, now I understand why - it's a small business trying to thrive in an age of fast food it has to be. So I can't blame the place, but people should know before going in. My main issue - and the reason it got such a low rating is the staff. There is a solid divide between the staff, some are lovely and have a jokey presence around them that truly makes you feel comfortable and is what made me come back. However some staff are incredibly rude. I'm not a very social person, so I don't mind people who aren't SUPER EAGER to talk, not to mention I work in hospitality and understand not always loving customers. But a few staff members are consistently rude, and standoffish. They have this pretentious presence and I can feel them rolling their eyes and scoffing at me. I just think a little goes a long way, and I'm not asking for much but working in a coffeehouse you can't complain you get customers. Overall a positive review for if you just need a place to study, eat, or get things done. But if you're looking to hang out with friends, you'll get eye rolls and scoffs. One more thing - there is a heavy distinction between upstairs and downstairs. If you're with friends please try get a seat upstairs, if you're downstairs it's incredibly library-esque, so not a hangout spot.

Cozy layout, lots of seating space, AMAZING seasonal specials.... I would give it 5 stars for this, super cozy mugs also. But, we got sandwiches and they were tasty but a bit dry... the cheese/ha sandwich could have had a bit more filling and my pesto-sundried tomatoes-cheese grilled sandwich had a lovely taste but the bun was too dry, unfortunately! But, then again, the drinks were soooo soooo good for today's winter day! SO 4 stars, here you go!

Birthday banners, complimentary birthday tablet and an afternoon tea raffle for every customer. And of course, the perfect excuse for cake. We are in just the right place for it, after all. Crisp and white and fresh like a beautiful spring day, the tearoom is cute and cosey and the welcome warm. Whilst small in size, there are certainly a good amount of seats and despite arriving slap-bang in the middle of lunchtime, we were able to get a table for two. The first thing that caught my eye was the crockery. We had some dainty little matching cups, bowls, saucers. And there were some more pretty selections displayed on the walls. Tea is always served best in a magnificent teacup. The bluebell are testament to this. It certainly is a the perfect spot for tea and cake! I had Cock-a-Leekie soup which was delicious, wholesome, warming. - The perfect prelude to the main event. Oh boy, did we have trouble choosing a cake from the selection. Despite it being the Bluebell's super special first birthday, you will always find such a plentiful selection of cake, including plenty of gluten free selections and it really was a delight to hear about just how many cakes and gluten free options they prepare daily. Today, there was Lemon and Coconut, Cranberry and Orange, Carrot...Would we like to have a peek at the selection? Oh, mama! Now we're talking. They look delightful. Every single one of them. After far too much time spent making a decision, I go for the Lemon and Coconut. My friend and I do a swap (always the best thing to do in these situations!) and I get to have a nibble of his slice of the Cranberry and Orange. Mmmm. They're both so light and with just the right amount of sweetness. I genuinely can't make up my mind which I liked best. Just perfect with the Japanese cherry green tea I had to accompany the afternoon sugar fix. If you asked me where to go for tea and cake in Stirling a few days ago, I might have told you to just hop on the train to Glasgow. That would have been silly of me. And I hope you didn't listen. - Do go to the Bluebell Tearoom. And take me with you!

Wonderful home baked cakes, great dry cured bacon and scotch pancakes, daily roast sandwiches made with honey and oat bread and served with gravy. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant food! The only thing better than the food here is the service. Lisa treats her customers as though they were family and you won't find a warmer welcome anywhere in Scotland. Fantastic! Highly recommended.

My first sweet toothed venture with Muffin Break (it has to be carrot cake!) was delicious, as expected. This time round I noticed that whilst the front of the cafe is well decorated and bright, the back looks bare, the walls empty. I think a few quirky additions to the walls would make a big difference in maintaining the kitsch decor that greets you initially. We headed to the back and past some 'cleaning in operation' floor signs. Despite the two signs, the back area didn't appear to be cordoned off so we assumed that we'd be alright to sit there. Although, it turned out that wasn't the case and we were told abruptly by a member of staff that we couldn't sit there since it was about to be cleaned. If it had been a little more clear we wouldn't have sat there to begin but moving wasn't a problem! We soon realised that it had already been cleaned, they just didn't want to clean it again. (It was about an hour before closing time!) The reason why I loved Muffin Break so much to begin was that despite it's status as part of a smaller chain, it still had that homegrown, welcoming vibe and the quality was consistent. This time round, my carrot cake was delicious and fresh, but I just wasn't bowled over by the whole experience like I was before. Nonetheless, I've no doubt I'll still head to Muffin Break for the occasional wrap or cake to go when I'm nearby!
