You can tell the food is made fresh with care. The sauce on the food is next level. Service was excellent and it definitely has bistro vibes. Great wine selection as well. Full liquor!

I visited Circles Bistro on a Saturday night with a group of four. We were able to get a 7:30 reservation when they opened at 5:00. From what I can tell the restaurant does not have a website, does not take reservations online, it definitely operates under the radar. The restaurant is intimate with like 10 or so tables but the menu is extensive. There are many Thai items on the menu as well as traditional "bistro" fare. We ordered the duck liver mousse as an appetizer, my husband ordered the shrimp Pad Thai and I ordered the arugula steak salad. Everything we ordered was excellent though I wish I would have gone with something other than the salad as it was a little boring compared to what others got. The service was good, the wine menu is extensive. They want you to take your time so this is definitely not an in and out quickly restaurant. The prices are reasonable. Definitely a hidden gem in Carrollwood.

As much as I like this hidden gem, the wine selection, the owner, the food and ambiance I do have to admit to a couple of drawbacks. First, if the owner is alone during meal service, things can be a bit slow, you will need to be patient and not in a rush. Second, consistency is a hurdle, one day fantastic and the same meal another day is good but not as good. See side by side photos I included of Veal Sorrentino, this occurs every now and again. The owners is very knowledgeable when it comes to wine and has a very nice selection and assortment of obscure varietals. I have found contentment in a glass here on many an occasion. You can buy wine by the bottle to take home during your visit. There is always something luscious to drink by the glass at very reasonable rates. The food more often than not is excellent, a real treat for the foodies out there. Pairing wine with the food is a very good idea, the place usually has a few oenophiles at the bar, I have witnessed wine sharing between patrons on a couple occasions. The menu is an eclectic mix of French/Asian dishes. I had an amazing Cioppino here once. Come get you some.

Circles is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants! Like a lot of places, they are short staffed, but doing their best. Reservations are recommended. We dined wednesday night and they were reservations only. The restaurant was booming with locals. Food was absolutely fantastic. Always consistent. On Wednesday night, Michael (owner), and his daughter, Cathy, were serving. Michael's wife, is the head chef and is truly a gifted in her field. I had the shrimp Czarina, which is no longer on the menu, but Chef is happy to make it. This dish is one of my all-time favorites. It has a ton of flavor and the perfect amount of spice. My friend had the duck and couldn't stop raving about it. Great flavor and cooked perfectly. For desert, we tried the homemade tiramisu and it was fantastic! Make a reservation and enjoy your meal here!

I love this place. It feels like a good friend's bar counter, with carefully curated spirits and warm, friendly service. It has the most amazing assortment of liquors, especially Bourbons and whiskeys. It's the place to go if you want to sit down, exhale, and have a good conversation with a friend and the restaurant staff. And the food is stellar, too. A lot of authentic Thai influenced foods that are delicious. Ask for the hot sauce on the side :-) There's a difference in Thai spicy and American gringo spicy. If you sit at the bar, I guarantee you'll walk away with a smile and good memories.

Great neighborhood restaurant. Just nice place where you can have a great lunch or dinner, glass of wine, and lots of food selections. You can find so many options of seafood, meat, salads, soups and more. The owners are husband and wife who cook and serves the food. We started with artichoke hearts and it was delicious. Lobster bisque was good, tuna with rice and green beans good and and eggplant parmigiana.

It is about 4.5 stars. Not yet 5 stars. This restaurant in my bookmark for a while. We finally make it here to try the restaurant. This restaurant is kind east meet west. They have Laos food, southeast Asian, Asian, Italian, Americans cuisine. I like the ideal of variety. My wife have the grilled chicken with pasta. The chicken is marinated in satay sauce. It is a interesting combination with the Italian pasta. The chicken is well marinated into the meat. Great flavors. My dish is the New Zealand Lamb chop with red wine mushroom sauce. It serve over asparagus fried rice. Another west meet east cuisine. The lamb chop is well cook and soft to bite. Mushroom sauce is nice to be add on. The service is perfect, waiter is well train. Know the customer need and respond quickly. We have great time here.

When making the reservation I was advised of the policy; cc hold, if you cancel at the last minute and the 15-minute grace period. Every time I have dined here if I had a party of 6 or more, I was advised that at least half of the party needs to be present before you can be seated. There were 2 people in my party who could not make it and one person was running late due to traffic. 7 people was there waiting on one (1). The hostess told me that ALL of my party has to be there before we are seated, I said no, every time I have dined here I was told half of the party not the entire party needs to be present. At this point the manager, Walker, comes out and said that the policy states the entire party has to be here and the policy is the policy. My reservation was for 5pm, this was not 5:09pm and still waiting for one person. Walker then tells me, if that one person was not there is 6 minutes he would cancel the whole reservation. When I got there, I let them know that instead of 10 it would be 8. When my 8th person arrived we were seated. When at the table I get a notification from my credit card company that my card was charged for $20 by Sacred Pepper. I asked about it and Walker told me the policy was the policy, it is non-refundable and it's nothing that he can do. Now, the charge was because of the change in the size of the party, instead of 10 it went down to 8. I told him that was not what I was told when I made my reservation, and it was not in the message I received for confirmation. Let's remember I have dined here before with party's I have made reservations for. This has never been the case. Also, while talking to Walker when I was voicing my issues, he shrugged his shoulders and said oh well, the money is non-refundable. It was my husband's dinner and others were there, other than that I would have left. I told him OK, I have been here many times, but this will be my last time. Walker said "Ok". I have recommended this restaurant to many people. I will not be dining here again, I will be letting all the people whom I recommended, what happened. Walker was rude and unprofessional. There are so many places I can spend my money, and it will never be here again.

Nate made our dinner a 20/10 experience and is truly the definition of Above & Beyond! Nothing but passion and hard work behind the service here! The food was nothing short of breathtaking. To start to drink we had the Guava Pastelito and the Sawgrass Sour and let me just say that the foam they put on the Guava Pastelito is a total show stopper. For starters we had the Garbanzo Croquette and the Chicken Yakitori plate and those were just absolutely delicious, I was completely mind blown from how delicious the Croquette was and it genuinely surprised me because I did not think I would enjoy that as much as I did, the Yakitori was seasoned to perfection and just melted like butter whenever you bit it. The Short Rib Gnocchi tastes like home in a bowl, just the most warm comforting hug you could ever have in food form. Vindaloo pasta dish was extremely delicious and such an amazing combination of flavors in one dish. Everything here was beyond a 10/10 and I cannot wait to come back! My biggest takeaway is that this restaurant is all about the dining experience. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and I really appreciated how they explained each dish when it arrived. Their prix fixe menu with wine pairings seems to be the full experience, but we decided to visit during Happy Hour instead. My biggest disappointment was the Happy Hour menu. I wasn't aware that it mainly consists of snack size portions of their regular dishes. Since the regular portions are already on the smaller side, the reduced portions didn't feel like a great value. For me, the appeal of Happy Hour is getting the same food/drinks at a lower price, so that was not what I expected. We ordered the tuna tartare, ribs, tortellini, and the local collar. The local collar was the standout dish of the meal. The crispy fried fish paired with the refreshing sauce was absolutely delicious and worked perfectly together. Overall, we had a great experience. While the Happy Hour offerings weren't what I expected, the food was excellent, and the service was spectacular. The staff was friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable, making the meal feel special from start to finish.

We visited on a holiday -- or maybe the eve of one -- which is usually when places either open late or people assume they're closed. But we had zero issues getting service. We grabbed some food, bowled a bit, and had a couple beers without any delays or confusion. My wife genuinely enjoyed it, and the kids did too. After bowling, we went into the arcade, and my son basically had free rein. Prices were very comparable to other arcades, not the kind where you feel like you're paying $5 just to blink. Not really a complaint, just something I noticed. The deviled eggs arrived with a fun DIY presentation that felt a little kitschy but looked fantastic. I didn't try them myself, but the plate was completely cleaned by the table within minutes. The lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful, though I wish it had been served hotter. Service was friendly and hospitable throughout the evening, but the timing of the food was a little inconsistent. My side Caesar salad arrived before the appetizers, which meant I was eating well before the rest of the table. The wedge salad was an interesting take, served with bacon jam on the side, though it felt lightly dressed compared to the Caesar, which was absolutely loaded with dressing. Delicious, but definitely rich. I ordered the Nashville hot tenders and found them just okay, but honestly, everyone else's food looked great and there were a lot of dishes I'd be interested in trying on a return visit. Overall, the atmosphere, live music, spacious setting, and friendly service made for a very enjoyable evening.
