On the day we were set to drive up from Arizona, I passed out, fell, and suffered a severe head injury and concussion. My wife had to rush me to the hospital. Naturally, dealing with an emergency took priority, but as soon as things stabilized later that same day, my wife reached out to inform them. No one answered the phone, so she sent an email detailing the medical emergency. We fully understood forfeiting our initial ~$300 deposit due to the late notice. What is completely unacceptable is that the property never called or emailed us back--they simply processed an additional charge on my card for around $900, bringing the total paid to over $1,300 for a stay we couldn't make due to a medical crisis. When my wife finally made contact with them today, the manager essentially told her "tough luck." He offered 50% off a future stay, but why would we ever return to a business with zero empathy? Because of my concussion, I cannot drive, and my wife does not drive long distances, making a rescheduled trip impossible anyway. As a business owner myself, I would never treat a customer experiencing a genuine emergency like this. Penalties are understandable, but charging full price and showing complete indifference is terrible business practice. If you book here, keep in mind that if a true life emergency happens, they will still take every penny

Three meals a day is an experience of its own. We planned our daily activities according to meal time. Love that they have daily group activities. We participated in snowshoeing and it was so much fun. They have all the winter gears for guests to borrow so, don't worry if you didn't pack it all. We stayed in the Echo room, which is the smallest and cheapest. The bed is sooo comfy that we just stayed in bed majority of the time so the size of the room didn't matter.
