I have come here to use the car wash services only…read more Decent car wash, sometimes there is a long line, but there is a star bread near by so I take advantage and get some senoritas lol Price is kinda high, $10 plus for a wash (can be more if you are fancy)

Fellow Yelpers, this Yelp listing is messed up…read more This Chevron Station is at 31889 Alvarado Blvd in Union City, CA. The map pointer and some of the reviews are for the Chevron on Alvarado-Niles Rd. It's the right city, but the wrong street. In Union City, Alvarado Blvd and Alvarado-Niles Rd are two different streets. Which one is right? You go by the address, not the map pointer. The Chevron gas station at 31889 Alvarado Blvd is at the crossroads with Dyer St. It has a 76 and an independent gas station across the street. It's located in the midst of shopping centers, with lots of traffic flow. This Chevron has a car wash, repair shop, snack shop and a pair of islands. It also has the highest gas prices. But Chevron is a major brand and Top Tier fuel. The 76 across the street is also Top Tier, but it was closed. So that's why i gassed up at Chevron. This gas station is dirty, and some white residue all over the pumps. I can't review the car wash or repair shop, but usually stations with great car washes and service shops have better than average Yelp ratings. The station is not very well lit, and had people lurking around.

I stopped here for gas on a Friday afternoon…read more I carry a Conoco/76 gas card, and it got declined at the pump. Hmm, it says expires in 2031. The pump says "see cashier," so i go inside the Circle K store. BTW, this is a 76/ Circle K gas station, there's no smog/repair shop here anymore. The cashier says my card is declined, I ask why, and she says "I don't know, pay with other card." So I paid with another card, and I'm on my way. I get home and call up 76 card services, and they insist my 76 card is active and ready to use. Very strange. The pumps are branded 76, but didn't accept my 76 card. Maybe it's just THAT pump.

After filling up my tank, I noticed that two of my tires had low pressure. I went inside and spoke with the attendant, who appeared to be of Indian descent--possibly Sikh--and politely asked him to activate the air pump. He nodded but then began speaking in Punjabi, saying something along the lines of "go get your air," followed by calling me a "POS." I responded calmly, letting him know I understood what he said and reminded him that I had asked respectfully. It was shocking and disappointing to be insulted after purchasing a full tank of gas. Initially, he insisted I pay for the air, but I informed him that under California law, gas stations are required to provide free air and water to customers who purchase fuel.

PRO WASH REVIEW: It's been awhile since I had my car washed here, and things are different now…read more They use to hand dry your car, vacuum, and wipe down the inside, but now they do a quick pre-wash brush, and then you go through the wash, and that's it. There are 3 wash levels you can select from and pay for at the kiosk before you drive up to the wash area. I believe they are $20 (express), $25 (diamond), $30 (platinum). I just picked the middle one. The $25 wash gives you the tri-color foam (woah). I didn't time the drive through, but I estimate it's about 1.5 minutes (?) The wash leaves your car about 75% clean and dry. There are still dirty areas where the brushes do not reach, and there are still plenty of droplets left on your car. You can then drive over to the vacuum station to finish the rest of the job yourself if you want. The vacuums have very long hoses, which is nice. Unfortunately there are no rags, so be sure to bring your own. I didn't realize this, so I drove home quickly and spent about 30 minutes wiping off the dirty areas and cleaning the inside. I guess you get what you pay for. For $25, getting your car 75% clean is ok. But I miss those days when someone finishes up the job for you, and gives your car a fresh scent, so that when you go back to your car, it's 100% clean.

Guess what? I have the bad luck to find out that Pump #6 has a bad chip reader. They don't put a warning sign on the pump to say "Pay Inside." Instead, I'm stuck there trying to get my gas card back as it's locked in the reader. So I try and force the pump to cancel the transaction, so it will spit out my card. Meanwhile, a strange man shows up and asked me for jumper cables. I said I don't have any cables, and he starts using all kinds of profanity and racist names. Now, the encounter with this weird guy isn't the gas station's fault. But it's their fault the pump is broken and make no attempt to notify customer. I went in the food mart and talked to the clerk, and he knew the pump has a bad chip reader. The clerk was actually very nice and professional. I prepaid inside for my gas, and then dealt with the slow pump. While I was there, I looked around the food mart. It only has the basics of a gas station C-store. Chips, sodas, coffee, candy and lottery. I didn't use the restroom. BTW, there was a homeless-looking man standing in the food mart trying to stay warm. Not a great experience at this Chevron station.
