I'm not referring to weather. It was more seeing a 7-Eleven store fairly regularly in Winnipeg, in the Slurpee capital of Canada, to losing the only one in Markham. My closest 7-Eleven store is in Pickering. It's not exactly close. Last night, I was driving home after having dinner. Rutherford Road has a couple of 7-Eleven stores that are fairly close to each other. There's one west of highway 400. The other one is this one just east of Keele Street. I tend to visit the one by highway 400 often. It's because it's the first store that I see heading home. Yesterday, I decided to check out this store. I'm glad that I did. This store has a gas station. I didn't need to fuel my car. The station looked clean. I backed my car into a parking spot near the store. I then went inside. This store has 7-Eleven plushies on keychains. They were adorable. I needed to get some drinks. I ended up getting a couple of Fuze iced teas. I saw mango and pineapple. This flavour was new to me. All 7-Eleven locations in Canada are supposed to have Japanese-style egg sandwiches. I saw signs saying that it had arrived in Canada. This store looked like it had run out of these sandwiches. There were various wraps and submarine sandwiches. They looked yummy. It was cool seeing iced matcha lattes and more. It's convenient to grab what you want and go. Apparently, there are breakfast sandwiches every day. I'd like to try one. As a fruit lover, I was pleased to see oranges, bananas, and apples. It was cool seeing lemons, too. This store has two Slurpee machines. I was tempted to get one. I passed, as I was about to purchase two bottles of Fuze. The hot foods looked amazing. I was tempted to get a hot dog. What caught my attention was seeing what looked like sausage rolls in front of the potato wedge sign. I helped myself to a warm beef sausage roll. This place didn't have tongs. I grabbed one with my hand and placed it in a paper bag. I got a helpful, nice woman at the checkout. She scanned my 7Rewards barcode and then my items. I paid with a credit card. Done! She wished me a great day. I reciprocated and left with my goodies. I'm currently drinking my Fuze mango and pineapple iced tea. It's pretty good. It's a nice change from the other flavours that I get. The beef sausage roll was decent. It was long and had a lot of beef sausage filling. The exterior had some flakiness to it, but it wasn't super flaky that my car was a mess. It was the best snack as I drove home. I'd get it again. I'm glad that I stopped by. I hope to do it again whenever I'm driving along Rutherford again. (108)

I rarely go into the store itself, especially with COVID in existence. But I would recommend it to save money on fuel. My go-to location that has hot drinks is in Scarborough by Malvern Town Centre. However, I did a search and found this location that is just south of ZeeV's Nutrition Studio, which I frequent regularly. Perfect! This Circle K is located in a large plaza. Shoppers Drug Mart and KFC anchor it. I backed into a spot and walked over. I found the hot beverage machine. The man behind the counter was extremely attentive. "Are you redeeming a coupon?" he asked me. "Yes," I replied in front of the machine. "Let's scan it first. Sometimes, it doesn't work," he added. I headed to the counter. He scanned my digital coupon. It worked! I got a hot chocolate. He watched me fill my small cup up with chocolately goodness that smelled divine. l didn't spill. I was looking for a lid. He let me know where it was. I thanked him. Some may feel that this guy monitoring my moves was borderline creepy. Frankly, he was extremely helpful that I didn't mind it. I went to look at the cold beverages. I found A&W diet root beer. I got two bottles of it. I paid for my drinks with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I wished him a good evening and headed out with my goodies. The hot chocolate was delicious. I have a weakness for hot chocolate. Luckily, I don't have it regularly. The small size hit the spot. This location is a free standing convenience store, which has a coffee machine available. The staffer was friendly and asked us to scan our barcode before redeeming our free beverage. My nephew was with us, so he opted for the hot chocolate. It's pretty standard machine hot water-based hot chocolate but you could add creamer or milk if you wanted to make the drink creamier and less sweet. I also discovered that they carry Circle K branded spicy dill rippled chips, which is something I haven't seen at the other Circle K locations that I frequent. This store seems to be pretty well stocked and offers some refrigerated food options, unlike some of the gas station affiliated locations.

It's roughly a five-minute drive north of Hillcrest Mall. This store is a part of an Esso station. It has a touchless car wash, a vacuum, and a Tim Hortons with a drive-thru. Parking is interesting. There is one spot to the left of the store for a driver with an accessibility permit. On the right are two garage doors. Two cars were parked in front of each door. There are parking spots across from the gas station by the car wash. I backed into a spot and walked over. The Timmy's is a part of the store, next to the Circle K cashout area. Timmy's was pretty busy with customers. I had no problem finding beverages. I got two bottles of Diet Pepsi and a berry Gatorade Zero. I waited in line. There was a woman leaving Timmy's who was pleasant. She was carrying a lot of goodies. I asked if she needed help getting out of the store. She was fine and thanked me for offering to help. On the contrary, I opened the door for a young Chinese female going into the store who did not say thank you. I said, "You're welcome." Our eyes met. I figured out that her brother was the kid twirling around in the Timmy's line. It runs in the family. Ugh. Our eyes met again when they both left the store after me. I let her know that she had poor manners. I also stared her down when she was in the backseat of her mom's car leaving the gas station. Fun in Richmond Hill! Quite the contrast. I'm not your personal door person. I was carrying drinks and still managed to open the door for you. I was being nice. I didn't have to be kind to you. The LEAST you could do is say thanks. Instead, you acted like a privileged teen. I digress. I do feel better venting. Back to my review... The man at the checkout was super nice. He said hi. He asked me how I was doing. I was great then. I got my drinks scanned. I also scanned my PC Optimum barcode and paid with a credit card. Done! I thanked him. He wished me a great evening. I reciprocated. My berry Gatorade zero hit the spot. My issue with visiting a 7-Eleven is that there isn't one close by where I live. Markham no longer has a store. The closest one by my home is in Pickering. It's not exactly five minutes away! On weekends, I often travel along Rutherford Road. There are two 7-Eleven stores on this road that bookend Highway 400. I decided to try the first one that I hit after work going eastbound last Thursday night, which was this one. There is plenty of parking. I managed to back into a spot. This store has a gas station. Prices are cheaper in this area than the GTA in general. There were lots of pumps available at 7:30 pm. I walked in and looked at the beverages in the fridge. There were great deals on pop, which I love. There's a new orange sorbet Coke. I stood there looking longingly and happily at the bottles. A orange Coke float in a bottle was a dream to me. I snapped out of my trance and got two. The cashier at the counter was great. I paid and had my 7Rewards barcode scanned on my app. Points earned and preserved. Mission accomplished! I grabbed my cold bottles of pop and cheerfully headed back to my car. The chicken wings and nuggets smelled so good. Had I not had dinner, I would have bought some. The hot foods are pretty good at 7-Eleven if you're in a rush and need to get rid of your hunger pangs. I'd come back here again. I like this 7-Eleven. Traffic does get crazy in this area, as there are box stores five minutes away. It's also roughly ten minutes away from Vaughan Mills and Canada's Wonderland. (364)

It's nice to have options, whether you feel like crunching on an apple or getting an apple fritter. It seemed like a mirage seeing many Japanese-style egg sandwiches above the subs and wraps. They were real. I picked one up and headed to the counter, beaming that I got an elusive egg sandwich. I got a cheerful woman who scanned my sandwich. She asked me if I had 7Rewards. I did. I pulled up the barcode from my 7-Eleven app and had it scanned. Done! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I thanked her and left with my sandwich. I had the sandwich at home. The crusts were cut off. The filling was generous. It was yummy, but I felt that it was missing something. Maybe it's because I make fancy egg salad at home with green onions. It would taste even better with them. The filling did use kewpie mayo as the binder, so it was creamy. It's a decent snack if you don't feel like pizza or wings.
