two stars only bc when i first came here six months ago to buy vuse pods for my mom the man that…read moremade me mad today assured me he'd get them in stock and has had them decently stocked since. today i couldn't find my wallet and hoped it'd be fine since i've been there with friends and he didn't card them for alcohol, i've also been there by myself many times. plus i am 30, so old enough to buy this. nope. he said he could not sell to me with out an ID, my birth receipt isn't good enough. fine. my mom wanted her smokes so i went home, told her to put pants on, and brought her to the store. his tone of voice was completely different when talking to her and no surprise, he didn't need her ID. nothing to scan, he was just refusing to sell to me. i planned to buy her two packs with my money but she only got one so really he lost out on business. in the past, i've gone here instead of others bc it's the closest local shop to me but i'll be going to 56th from now on. at least the man asking for my ID looks like he may actually be other than me. i may be ageist for saying this but idc, he had even more of a baby face than me and looks like he could barely buy a vape himself.

Stopped for a Diet Coke and after walking around store, I asked the clerk, a young woman, where…read morethey were. She pointed me down a blocked aisle. When I eventually found her 2 aisles over, she pointed to a large $2.99 bottle and when I asked her for a small bottle or can, she pointed to the large one and said it was small and walked off. When she rang me up, I thought she said she would substitute the coke for a pepsi for a deal (?!) of $5 with 2 pieces of pizza but she didn't substitute and said I would have to go get a diet pepsi. I hesitated briefly to decide if it were worth the effort during which time she said the same thing 5 times in a condescending manner as though I were too stupid to understand. I went back to get the Pepsi but I couldn't find diet so I asked a man in a turban who came out from the back and he pointed to a bottle of Pepsi. I politely said, "That doesn't look like diet." He pulled one out of the unit and turned the bottle so I could see diet written small on the side, which had not been visible. Then he puffed himself up and said in a very rude tone, "You tell the owner of the store!" I had the distinct impression that he would not have been so contemptuous if I had not been an old woman.
