Arrived about 2 weeks ago on a Friday.. my girlfriend and I were coming from Thousand Oaks CA so we were a little hesitate making the drive out being that there were other places closer to us but ultimately we made the right choice! We did the 90 min ride! Over looking the 5/134 freeway and also got a chance to see the train station by Griffin Park. The ride was very peaceful and quite. It gave us lots of time to slow down and stop thinking about school/work and just enjoy the moment. As for our tour guide., he was awesome! Great guy to talk to with lots of cool information! Our horses were awesome! no to fast and not to slow just the perfect ride! We are coming back for another ride but this time 2 hours! read more

A fantastic time and experience with this company. It has been a number of years since i've been on a horse and agreed to this little adventure for a friends birthday. A little nervous i'd end up with "that horse", the one that doesn't listen and takes off to fast, but luckily that wasn't the case. From start to finish everything was smooth. We walked up to the counter, signed a waiver, indicated our experience so they could match us up with the right horse, paid for our ride ($30 for 1 hour) and next thing I know I was sitting on my horse "shorty" ready to go. Katie was our guide and she was fantastic. Knowing there were a few of us with little or no horseback riding experience, she was patient and very friendly. This review is long overdue. Zero stars would be my rating. It's been a few years. I brought a group of girl scouts to ride, along with 2 special needs teens & a few parents. We were greeted by a group of teenage girls in the office dressed in pajamas. No problem so far. We all got our horses & began our ride. I am a very experienced, well trained rider. My horse was ok, but seemed tired. I rode back & forth in our group so I could be with all of my girls. When we got near the edge of a cliff, my horse stomped his hoof, almost throwing me off the cliff. He then fell & landed on my inner thigh & knee spraining my knee. Our guide didn't see anything, nor did he stop to help me. I got out from under the horse & felt very dizzy & nauseous. The back guide stopped to help me & wanted me to get back on the horse. I refused. I said this horse is sick or injured. Please ride ahead & get a vehicle to drive me back. He didn't want to, but eventually did. When I got back to the office the teenagers were laughing at me & made comments that my horse had a twisted intenstine, which they failed to notify me about. I should not have been given this horse. They also laughed at me saying that my weight probably made my horse fall over. I weighed at that time 155 lbs. I asked for a refund & the teens kept laughing. I demanded they get the owner on the phone. They refused, but eventually did. I got my refund. My girls were terrified that I was seriously hurt or even dead. I was so glad to see them when they returned from their ride. They did not have a good time, and asked to never go there again. Needless to say I will never go to this place again & I hope people take my story seriously & avoid this place at all cost. Pay a little more to be safe & to have a good time. read more

As a person who works full time with horses and has been riding my whole life, this is the only trail ride place I'll go to! Horses are wonderful, well kept, guides are amazing and let you do much of anything you want! Other places are up your butt making sure everyone is in a single file line but this truly is the best trail experience and feels authentic like trails should feel. Javier is great! TLDR: Easy and affordable spot for horseback riding! Circle K makes it as easy as it possibly can be to go horseback riding. Basically, you just show up, sign a waiver, and pay $30 for an hour-long ride ($45 for 1.5 hours). Then they help you onto a horse and you start riding towards Griffith Park with a guide. I went with my girlfriend and we ended up in a group of 8 people, which is slightly larger than what I would have liked. The guide was extremely friendly and helped the group stay together. However, don't expect any lessons from the guide - he/she is mostly there to make sure the group moves along for the full hour. My horse was notoriously slow, so the guide had to constantly drop back and make sure he was keeping up. It was a little frustrating but the guide was pretty helpful there. The route is a pretty easy loop around part of Griffith Park with decent views of the valley. It does take ~10 minutes to make it to the actual trail, but that time is great to get adjusted to being on a horse. Overall, the experience was great for the price. If you're looking for something extremely well organized or more along the lines of horseback riding lessons, then this isn't the place to go. But, if you're looking to ride some horses without breaking the bank, Circle K is probably the best place for that in the LA area. read more

Unassuming, tucked in a corner, and the best place for horseback rides. I grew up with horses, and have rented all over LA including up in Malibu. This stable takes you into Griffith Park and is our favorite place to rent a horse for a trail ride. The owners are 100% all about horses and they are well cared for. Fun, sensible, affordable. Bring cash, call ahead but usually you can get in same day, and enjoy the peace and beauty of horseback riding. We've taken 1 hour rides but prefer 2 hours! read more

Took my bf here for a little date. It was both of our first time horseback riding and we had such a great experience. It was $30/hour per person. They will have you sign a waiver and it is cash only. They provide helmets for those who are inexperienced. Don't expect a full on lesson because the guide will only spend like less than a minute explaining how to control the horse then they'll assign you a horse according to your experience level. Our guide was very courteous and friendly and he took us up the mountain where we could oversee the Burbank area. Overall it was a wonderful experience even though we got so sore the day after. Very well trained horses, always felt safe and enjoyed our tours. We always ask for the horses to run and the guides are very good about making sure this takes place enough throughout the rides. Been to the hollywood sign several times. The horses are always very apt to listen quickly and we've never had an incident occur. My boy has been riding since he was 6.5 yrs old and my daughter since she was 8 yrs old. We've taken guests from out of town on the tours with us. Our grandma has also been on the one hour rides several times. She is 65 yrs old. Love it. They just raised the prices but well worth it. read more

It's Autumn people, come out for a joy ride ;) Catching a nice breeze under their trees while waiting to mount onto one of their majestic creatures this Sunday afternoon. The staff promptly greeted us and asked us if we need helmets, or been to horse riding. The simple forms and disclosures gave us an idea what to expect and we could choose a 'fast' or 'slow' horse. Soon, a few children with their dad came behind us, (actually the kids were sprinting toward us.) Their dad was very relaxed and the little girl waving and saying hello to one of the horses; it was clear to me they have been here before. If Kids like it that much, I should feel at ease too. I was very surprise the horses were very animated. I was a newbie, so I may pulled my horse too tight. He turned his human face head to 'give me a look' TWICE ...... right at that moment, I learned to relax. Since then, my ride was smooth like a baby butt. We both coughed when the sand got picked up by the wind. I moved my hand side to side on his neck to comfort him. He was smart too, he decided not to walk too close behind the horse in front of us. Stay close to your horse, learn your own weakness and to feel his strength. 1 hour is good enough for a beginner. I am glad that I hit the gym to train my glutes and legs. BUT nothing could compare to 'sitting' on this horse. He totally separated my glutes. LOL. Thanks. read more

Bad experience. One friend and I left with a guide. Our horses were not able to be controlled. Felt very uneasy as they would run without us telling them and would not stop when we tried to stop them. At first we felt unsettled and unsafe but what sent it over the edge was when my horse kicked my friends from behind and my friends horse bucked her (luckily not off) but up in the air and right next to the edge of the cliff! After that we said we were done with our ride and wanted to go back. The guide was unresponsive when we said that. Prior he wasn't stopping the horses in anyway from doing what they were doing. We both were comfortable on horses but not equipped for this. we went back and got our money back. Left feeling very stressed. Guide said that my horse had done that multiple times that day so I hope in the future they do not sent customers on horses like that when they are aware of previous experiences. read more

Had the best riding experiences ever! We took oht son for his 12th birthday and we were all first time riders. It was absolutely fun even though I definitely was terrified to say the least. I learned from other reviews that those horses might get out of control when they're acting up. I guess we were just got lucky! I really hope this place takes good care of these cute horses. Our trail guide was friendly and responsible. However, it was my first riding and I don't know how to get off from the horse when the trip was finished. I was yelled by a guy with a ponytail, "It's not like that! Fine!!!", which is one of their stuffs. He yelled at me and passed by us. Well, I'm sorry and frightened, but no guidance was offered and I was so nervous! Overall it was a pleasant experience with fantastic views, if it was not end up like that. Three stars because it was reasonably priced compared to al the other horse back riding places but it seemed like their horses were unhappy. They were also surprisingly busy on Christmas Eve. We paid for the 1.5 hour ride, which was $45 ($30 if you want just the one hour). Our rider wasn't very helpful and he just tagged along and told us to go left or right. My sisters horse, Rusty, definitely had an attitude and wouldn't listen to any of us and decided to go his own route. Like I mentioned, it seemed like he was trying to run away or glad he was finally on his own. None of the horses got along and they didn't really pay attention to what we put on their sign in sheet, letting them know that we were novices. When we filled out our papers, their were already two horses waiting for us. Overall, it was a trail that didn't have much to see or much shade. The workers were nice and I respect them for working their normal hours on Christmas Eve but, the horses seemed very sad and uncomfortable and I would be so hurt if we paid to help continue poor treatment of the horses. read more

An hour ride for $30 around Griffith Park. An hour and a half for $45 ...even a trail to the hollywood sign. For that price and what they offer, I'm definitely coming back. You have the option of a medium or slow horse and they ask what riding level you are. One staff member goes with you to make sure you're going the right trails. The view is amazing. read more

Another thing is that tend to be larger and that can be very helpful as they take you up and down the hills of Griffith Park. We visit the stables often to ride and give the horses carrots and apples. You should too. The tour guides, or "baby sitters" could be better with explaining what you are looking at off the trail and in the distance. The views are quite gorgeous and the time of year will change the route conditions dramatically. If you are a beginner or expert. Take the hour or longer tour. And as a tip, use this location because the it is a lot less dusty at the beginning and end of the trip. Enjoy Life, I'm coming back. read more

I loved it that guided were very casual and laid back and trusted us with the horses. My 8 year old and his 8 year old friend felt really comfortable even when some of the horses didn't like to walk next to each other. I recommend a beany for when it gets dry and dusty. read more

So this was an unplanned adventure to this location, but it was well worth the turn around!!! A friend of mine lives in the Burbank area and told us about this place. We decided to go horseback riding, it was 4 of us total, at 8ish am. There was no line or wait since we were there pretty early. The owner's son was very amicable and funny, joking with us about our first time riding horses for some of us. The owner himself gave us the horseback tour. He was very calm and relaxed, and easy to talk to. It was $30 for an hour, but it was a bit longer most likely just due to the pace we were taking, which we didn't mind at all. The views were amazing! This experience was very relaxing and enjoyable, Despite how cold it was. Definitely coming back here in the nearby future!!! Brought my boyfriend here. It was his first time. He was so unenthusiastic and nervous about riding a horse. He clarified the rules with the instructor like 3 times before getting on the horse. Lol! It was a beautiful experience. It was overcast, so not too hot and not super crowded. The only thing I didn't like is that they quoted me one number over the phone when I gave them the weight for both of us and then once we got there they went up on the price for my boyfriend. To say i had a fear of horses was a understatement. For the last 29 years of my life I have avoided them at all cost! After some what facing my fears and petting a horse (yes just petting one) my husband convinced me it was time to try to ride one. Of course I started to research and found Circle K to be one close to home (incase I chickened out) and were very friendly on the phone when I told them I had never done it before. We got there on a Saturday morning and for 30 dollars a person they will take you and your group on a guided trail ride through Griffith park trails for about a hour!! Not only is it a great deal but the views are great! The people were so kind and knew i was scared and made sure to give me their calmest horse. The person who guided us was so nice and after some conversation we learned that his father owns the place and they even rent our their horses to studios near by so they are well trained!
