The message on the pumps said "pay inside". When I went inside there was a hand written sign on the door that said "no Gas". I asked the clerk if there were completely out of gas and her reply was "there is a sign in the door". A gas station completely out of gas? What's next a restaurant completely out of food. The last time I went by, about a week ago, there was sign on the door that said "closed". Not the best customer experience when there are other gas stations near by.

Urban Value is very convenient for Parkside residents and they have an abundance of items. From…read moregroceries to dog toys to stationary items, if you need it, it's there. And if they don't have it, you can let them know and they'll try to get it in stock for you. Even though it's a small shop, it's well organized and the staff is usually around to help you or spark up conversation. The only down side is because it's a convenience store (basically), the items are a smidge higher than what you might pay at Walmart or Tom Thumb. Again, you're paying for convenience so it's a trade off.

Unfortunately, it's not open past about 9pm, which is when I always want some pizza or pretzels! The people have always been nice to me and their gas prices have usually been pretty decent. It's right off of University and close to 75 and it will get congested during rush hour, so keep that in mind.

It doesn't matter what time of day you stop in, the employees are always there to welcome you and make you feel good about your day.

This might be the highest tech gas station I have ever been in. And I have been to a Buc-ee's, Wawa, and even Sheetz and yes this one would bear them all based on sheer technological advancement. It even just looks sleek from the outside, and I swear everything machine in the store was touch screen and just probably way more upscale than a gas station really needs to be. But, this did make it way more entertaining simply to walk in and see everything. They do also have a taco restaurant/ fast food type deal on one side as well. The worker who checked us out was quite nice. It's often said they do everything bigger and better in Texas, and this 7-Eleven takes that very seriously. Now I can say I've been to the fanciest gas station of them all.

El Primo Taqueria in McKinney is excellent! I can't believe we haven't tried this place before…read more(they are about to celebrate 24 years). We were looking for somewhere to eat and saw a bunch of cars in their parking lot and decided to try it - a very good move. They are a in a modest setting (classic Taqueria), but the food was fantastic. We ordered a tacos of al pastor & lengua, 4 birria tacos, 3 gorditas - 2 of lengua and one of chorizo, along with a chile toreado and 2 Topo Chicos. The had a mild green sauce and a spicier orange sauce along with a bowl of pickled jalapenos, carrots and onions on the table (see photos). While the tacos were good, what really stood out were the gorditas - they may be the best ones I have ever had. They almost looked like they were grilled but they were fried they were not fooling around - just onions, cilantro, & the meat that you picked inside. Outstanding! (I later find out that they make their own chorizo). The birria - queso tacos were also excellent, but the consume (dipping sauce) was fantastic. It had a bit of onions and cilantro, and it was just a little bit spicy - not greasy at all. Value wise, this place rocked. The tacos were $2.19, birria sold in either 3 ($9.99) or 4 ($12.99). The gorditas were also sold 3 at a time for $9.59 or $10.99 depending on your meat selection. The service was also great! We dined in and they brought menus and took our orders and asked us several times if we needed anything. This place also has a Mexican Market and Butcher shop where they make their own chorizo, milanesa's, and cecina. The quality of the meat looked very good so we bought a couple of pounds to try it. If you like authentic Mexican Taquerias, you need to give El Primo a try.
