An employee who has that type of work ethic is rare in my experience. I was a training manager for twenty years and only a handful of employees I trained had that natural type of work ethic to take initiative. They also take your Fred Meyer / Kroger fuel points, so you're able to get a nice discount on gas. Pro tip: buy a Shell gift card at Freddy's when they're 4x points. I do this every year before I go on vacation, and I don't have to worry about paying for gas, or putting my credit card in a gas pump out of my local area. The price was slightly higher than Fred Meyer, but not so much so that it wasn't worth the fill-up.

It can be difficult to find late night spots in Klamath, but I can count on this one being open 24/7. The staff is friendly and chill and fun. One of the fuel attendants calls me Captain and one of the clerks told me, "I like your look, it's like a movie." It's always a fun trip to the corner store. They have a decent selection of beer and wine, and they even have fresh limes. They do not stock gluten-free beer, which makes me sad, but ultimately leaves space for that 5th star I like how this place just keeps on going no matter who owns it or how the outside looks - it's kinda like a TARDIS-Dr. Who situation. If you need gas or something convenient, hit the convenient convenience store on the corner, whatever it's name may be at the moment.

But I thought there was a new law that went into effect on January 1st this year that customers can now pump their own gas. Maybe there is more to it than that (clause, fine print etc). Anyway... Sometimes you get lucky and your attendant is friendly like when we arrived here to get gas one morning. The first time we filled up here prior to our trip to Bend. The older attendant came up to us with a warm friendly attitude asked my hubby if wanted a full tank so he proceeded to pump gas and then started to clean our windshield. We could barely see from the bugs that hit our windshield traveling to our timeshare last night. The wipers don't do a good job and just smears the whole window. What kind of bugs are these... are these midges? Anyway, he did a great job too! The whole time the gas was pumping the attendant was nice and courteous (even with our California plates LoL). Gave us our receipt and even gave us a quick direction to Bend. Is it customary to tip these attendants in Oregon for their friendly service? I dunno, but the hubby did. The next day, we decided to fill up here again in the morning before heading to Crater Lake. The attendant (a different one from yesterday) probably saw our California plates.
