I know maybe I should've stayed with my car I just ran into grab a soda. And since I have NEVER had a pumps safety feature of stopping when it's full not work I assumed getting a soda was no cause for alarm. Lesson learned. Why I'm upset is the "manager" here was completely rude to me. First she avoided me for about 5 minutes walking around the store doing small tasks when i kept waiting for her. She didn't even go out to put a bag over the pump while I was there to stop others from using it! Huge safety hazard considering there is about 7 gallons of gas sitting on the ground! When I finally asked her (i'm very calm at this point mind you) what they could do about this since it malfunctioned and I was still charged she said "oh there's no way you're getting your money back" and then whispered to the girl behind her that the pump was working fine before. After that I'll admit I was not the most pleasant. She was unbelievable and left me walking to my car in tears. A nice stranger helped push my car out of all the gas so nothing would catch on fire! But the service here has changed, to a lesser quality. Many times they are stocking in the daytime, but when trying to shop and pass by the staff just stay in the way. With less staffed registers, it means longer lines. Then with Kroger's takeover, the private brand has also switched, which I find is a lesser quality. But the store is always in good condition, clean, with fresh perishables, it has a with a well run Rx, and a gas station.

This issue relates to a raincheck that was issued after the lobster tail promotion problems that occurred on February 26. When I arrived at the store on March 6 to pick up the lobster tails tied to my raincheck, the seafood employee (Ty) located a box that contained five lobster tails. My raincheck allowed for up to three tails, and I asked if the store would be willing to honor the raincheck for all five since that was the quantity available in the box. Ty immediately said no, which I understood. However, I then politely asked if he could check with the store manager to see whether an exception could be made. Ty refused to do so and told me I would have to call the manager myself if I wanted that request made. While standing at the seafood counter, I called the store to ask for the manager. At that point, Tristan, the manager on duty, came back to the seafood counter, and I calmly explained the situation. During that conversation, Ty began interrupting, raising his voice, and accusing me of lying while I was trying to speak with the manager. I told Tristan that the interaction was becoming unacceptable and that I would likely need to report the situation to Harris Teeter corporate. As Tristan and I began walking away from the counter, Ty started clapping loudly and shouting insults toward me, saying something along the lines of "go ahead and do that." Regardless of the raincheck question, this kind of behavior toward a customer is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I have been a Harris Teeter customer for years and have never experienced anything like this. I hope Harris Teeter reviews this situation and addresses the conduct that occurred at the seafood counter.
