If you are visiting Lubec and anticipate needing groceries, I'd recommend making a stop in Machias…read moreto do your shopping. I made this mistake while visiting Lubec for a couple nights. My husband and I booked and Airbnb for a couple nights and intended to make food in the kitchen, but the Airbnb didn't communicate the best and listed this IGA as a "nearby grocery store." It is right in the heart of Lubec, and it did have most essentials. However, the prices are super high and you don't really have the best selection. We lucked out and ended up with some delicious chicken thighs to bbq up, but ended up with a pretty basic marinade. There wasn't exactly a gourmet ingredient selection, but understandable for such a tiny town at the easternmost point of the US of A. The store provided the essentials so we didn't have to drive all the way back to Machias, but I wouldn't recommend this as a "main" shopping stop. If you're visiting Lubec, just make the stops at a bigger, regular supermarket in Machias. Otherwise this IGA is perfect for last minute, forgotten essentials.

Monica is the treasurer of this castle. It's a beautiful home filled with chocolate! We were lucky to get a tour of where the chocolate was made. Monica was amazing. Such a kind heart and an amazing chocolatier. A must have is the hot chocolate. We are ruined for hot cocoa - this place makes liquid gold in the form of chocolate. We left with many gifts and a few for ourselves.

It honestly felt like walking in an adult candy store. Service was phenomenal. We were greeted right away and the cashier girl told us some cool fun facts about the spot! I bought some truffles for $14 and I honestly wish I would've bought way more. We got other chocolates (not pictured) and they were all delicious. The place is clean, organized, and not cramped inside. I was very impressed by this business! Can't wait to return one day!

Who knew that when I spent several days up in Eastport this summer, I'd end up getting a bunch of…read moremy Christmas shopping done? Thanks to Raye's Mustard--a storefront right downtown featuring allll of their mustards and more. It's amazing that Raye's makes their mustards RIGHT THERE, in Eastport--and not only that, the same family has done so for over 100 years. Everything is handcrafted with a stone-ground mustard mill and made in small batches. If you're a mustard aficionado you'll find everything from plain yellow mustards to various kinds of stone-ground; mustards made with beer, and others with wine; spicy mustards, sweet mustards, peppery mustards; seasonal blends including things like (of course) Maine blueberries and cranberries. What's great is that you can buy regular-sized jars and also little ones, and there are various sets and gift baskets to choose from too. And of course, you can sample anything you want! The staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable, and just ask for a cracker or pretzel with whatever you want to try, and they'll oblige. One thing I should augment here is the use of the term "plain yellow mustard," above: Rayes' versions of the classic yellow (for all of you who, like me, grew up on French's) include the Down East Schooner as well as the Aroostock Gold, and WOW. It's like imagine all the best addictive qualities of French's and punch up and freshen up the tanginess! So basically I came away with big box of mustards that will be shared out for the holidays--I'm delighted to have been able to pick them up right there at the source, but the good news is that you can order online, too!

It was Canada Day and after 5pm, so nothing was open on the St Stephen side. Luckily we were able to turn back around and get to VIP just before closing. They stuck around late to patch our tire and sent us on our way in under 40 minutes. We would have been looking at an overnight stay in Calais plus, likely, having to have the truck towed had they not been so accommodating. Thank you to Joe and the crew for going above and beyond to treat us with kindness and make sure we were able to safely get back on the road!

Just more empty words like "we care" but no action to date. She said that the manager, Dan, would contact, but...he probably remembers how upset I was when his coworker, Matt, made fun of me for being ignorant about the part they replaced. All in all, it's really best to avoid this company. They took advantage of me, plain and simple. Original Review: Zero stars if possible. Despite my private emails to corporate, which I sent in order to give them a chance to address their errors, I encountered the same lack of respect for my time and property. This company refused to honor the warranty on their previous work, and my car is still experiencing issues that should have been fixed when I paid for the service the first time! The last straw was my seat not being reset to its original position upon return of my vehicle. Such an oversight, especially when corporate told me that it was "unacceptable" when it happened once before...It may seem like a petty issue, but the principle of the matter is an overt lack of respect. If you've got money to burn, go here. They'll definitely burn you!
