Needed new brakes and rotors put on our outlander. Decided to use vip since the car had already had a few services there previously. Didnt seem to take very long considering how rusty maine cars get and bolts and parts tend to freeze up and need a bit of PB blaster soaked in to come loose. It really helped pass the time because they have full service wifi and netflix, so my daughter and wife watched hotel Transylvania 3 while we waited and i tooled around the net on my phone. So as we go to run our card, the machine denies it. We know fair well theres over 4k in the account, so i decide to walk up the street to an atm. One of the mechanics (i forget his name) kindly drove me to the bank atm up the street which also denies my card. Im livid in my head at this point because i had this same issue at walmart ealier for a tv because american express uses a 4 digit sexurity number and it seems to screw up the machines. But i got over 1000 bucks from the walmart atm earlier in the day, so i know im safe there. So we go back and i ask to leave them the car and keys while i take a taxi like 2 mile to the walmart atm and ask to call me a taxi. Another mechanic named dan graciously offered to drive me there where i was able to get the cash out and pay off our tab when we got back. I tried to pay dan for the ride but he refused no matter the amount of my protest. Went to get brakes fixed, quoted a price of slightly over $300.00, asked why so high when parts, only cost around $100.00 dollars total. They told me they have to buy them from O'rileys and mark them up and said the rotor prices alone where over $100.00 O,riley's price $45.99 over 100% markup. Then told me they where giving me a discount. What a croc of shit. I was going there because of the closeness to my Apt and how good I thought I was used last time I was there. However I am not stupid enough to pay there exorbitant price. If you get work done there get a quote on the price of the parts. Then check how much extra you are being charged for them you will find out you are paying a lot for some one to walk 10 feet to get the parts. read more

My experience at VIP in Calais has given me exceptional service. The last time I was there 3-4 months ago, Matt, was great taking care of my tires which were not living up to there warranty. He replaced 2 tires for less than half the price which I was happy about. I like that they do the complete check up when ever my truck is there. They found a loose c/v joint last time as well and that was still under warranty so I took that back to the dealer. Thank you for being vigilant and for doing a great job on my truck. Manager Carl Bailey met with me on a previous issue that I had about a week ago and really made me feel comforted and taken care of. Emailing back and forth with Market Manager Kenneth Bridges out of the Ellsworth offices was also an amazing experience. I buy all of my tires at the Calais VIP, including free lifetime alignments and seasonal changeover, along with the tire protection plan. During the life of the tires there is a substantial saving, even without having to use the tire protection plan. However, the previous benefit would not be enough to maintain my relationship with VIP; it is the excellent treatment as a valued customer that I have received through the years. That is the most significant service that keeps me returning. read more

I have been going to this VIP location for all of my vehicle needs for the past two or three years. They have always been incredibly accommodating and helpful. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They take the time to explain everything in terms I can understand! I have never had any issues here and would recommend it to anyone. And in instances where I have had to wait longer than normal, they have been very apologetic, and even throw in a discount sometimes for my patience. read more

VIP is the place to go for oil changes and routine service. The staff is professional and courteou. They truly seem to want to help and offer available options. We are summer residents in Eastport ME - live in GA - and always go to VIP in Calais for our service. VIP offers (and keeps) appointments! I was in town and my shifter would not go into park, which meant if I turned it off it would not start again. I called VIP and spoke with Carl Bailey and he said to bring it right in. Carl and his staff know their craft! We had an oil change and a cabin air filter installed on our Buick Verano and as usual they completed the work and had the car ready for pick up as promised. They are close to shopping and restaurants which makes getting an oil change a real pleasure. They also have a waiting room if that is your desire! read more
