I've been a resident here for the past 4 years. I've got nothing but great things to say. All of the staff are awesome!! They always reply quickly and handle any concerns I have. Maintenance is wonderful! I don't call them often, but the few times I've needed something repaired in my unit they arrive quickly. They have fun events for residents regularly. From themed events and cooking classes to comedy and self care days. The entire building is cleaned every day! The common areas are great, the gym is a nice size, and there's a coffee bar downstairs which is a great feature. The building is quiet, pet friendly, and great food and nightlife is just steps away!! The neighborhood is pretty quiet even with all the nightlife around the corner. Overall, I've enjoyed my experience here and I plan to stick around as long as possible. read more

We had to call CPD to be extricated though ultimately a very nice young lady who answered (855) 234-0260 granted us access to the garage after we had been freed from the wrong garage, but we missed our dinner reservation on one of the busiest days of the year! read more

I have lived in Circa 922 for the last 3.5 years and unfortunately the place has been going downhill for the last 6 months. The immediate staff managing the office and the maintenance and cleaning staff have been great but the management company that has taken over has been engaging in predatory rent hikes increasing rent in the range of $300-500/ year. The amenities are acceptable but not competitive with many of the newer buildings in the vicinity and the building has turned into a party hub for mostly young/post college grads. I will not be renewing and would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

We were seriously considering leasing here, but prospective tenants should be aware of a concerning part of the application process. After submitting all required documents, we were told--only after the fact--that we'd be required to connect our personal bank accounts, including those with high balances, to a third-party verification service called Nova. At no point during our initial conversations or in the documentation provided was this requirement disclosed. We were told PDF bank statements would suffice, which we provided. It was only later that we were informed of this additional step involving sensitive financial data. In today's climate of frequent data breaches and identity theft, asking applicants to grant access to their financial institutions through a third-party platform--without advance notice or the option to verify through a secure, more traditional method--is not just invasive, it's irresponsible. read more

Moved out of Circa922 after living there three years. -Amazing maintenance team, always timely -Amazing cleaners, the complex always felt clean -OK amenities but the building is older compared to the rest in West Loop The reason for the star deductions is due to the current management. Went through three management companies in my time there and they have only gotten worse. Rent continues to be raised at crazy amounts ($400-500 each year) even with newer apartment complexes coming in at the same rate. Be wary that they will be the friendliest when signing a lease but after that, expect it to go downhill. Charging $300+ for wall holes & repairs to flooring yet not considered 'normal wear & tear'. They expect the apartment in a perfect state when returning. If you can get past the obnoxious management team, this apartment complex is a great place (dog friendly & near restaurant row) but not worth the current market rates (We were paying $4400+ for a 2/2 with 2 parking spots) read more

We love the location and the management of the building, especially the cleaning staff, who are absolutely wonderful and are there bright and early every day. In general management is friendly and helpful, but we haven't seen them nearly as much in the past few months. We are on our second year of the lease, and our first year there was a strong presence of the general manager, Nick, every day on the property. I think I've only seen the new manager twice. One of our highlights from the first year was the halloween party/costume contests for pets. This year it was cancelled last minute :( Maintenance is great. They are super responsive, and usually come within 3 hours of non-urgent requests. A red flag is that the Pelaton in the gym has been broken for 6+ months now. The building is aware of the issue. I've been in the gym since it broke down and several times I've seen them touring the building advertising the peloton. BUT IT'S BROKEN! I cringe every time. It is impossible to move the seat forward/backward. So unless you are a giant or want to injure yourself, you will not be able to use the peloton. Even if they told you that you could on your tour. read more

I moved here about a week ago and continue to be impressed. I have never lived in luxury apartments before so the amenities were an amazing new shock. Even though most have restrictions due to Covid, the rooftop patio is absolutely gorgeous, the gym is still available, and the grills are available for me to cook. Not that I need to cook because we are so close to a large number of high-quality restaurants! The on-site maintenance has been amazing because I have had to do all my own maintenance in the past and it is a large sense of relief. Most of all I appreciate the assistant property manager Kalenna. She set up multiple videos tours for us while we were not in state and gave us multiple floors plans, but she also personally helped us move into our place which shows true grim and willingness to help as I guarantee that is not in her job description. Overall loving my experience. read more

We lived in the printers loft side of the building, 7th floor - which was the top floor on that side. For 1.5 years of living there, it RAINED IN OUR MASTER bedroom directly over our bed. The multiple management teams that have taken over there, continued to make excuses and not only didn't fix the roof, but we were lucky if they even put a plastic bag over it to keep it from damaging our bedding and dripping on us all night long. They let us out of our lease early (b/c they were sick of making concessions on our rent & paying us for damaged duvet covers), and 2 months later, we have yet to receive our security deposit back - though we've been ASSURED we'd receive it in full within 2 weeks after move out after all we'd been through. Now, they've switched management again, and I'm sure to be chasing down my security deposit for another X months. I'd advise you look elsewhere in the West Loop if you'd like an over-priced, under-cared for property. read more

Expect HIDDEN costs EVERY month! If you live on the printers row side, you split the gas bill with every tenant. I was gone for 2 weeks in Feb and came home to a $173 gas bill for the month, despite not being there. The previous months my gas bill ranged from $10-$50. They split the gas bill between every unit, so no matter how conscious you are of not wasting gas, you pay for your potentially careless neighbors. Living in this building you will pay extra for everything on top of your rent: gas, sewer, water, cable, electric, parking and the ever important administration fee. When I asked mgmt why my bill was so high, I got their favorite line, "it's in your lease". They don't disclose important details because it would seriously drive potential tenants away. I also dealt with a resident smoking in a unit below me from August to March. They did NOTHING about this. I was again given the "it's in your lease" line that the building is smoke free, but this can't actually be guaranteed. Last summer, I wanted to renew my lease for a year, but opted for a 9 month renewal because the 1 year would've raised my rent $500/month instead of $150 for 9. Lincoln management runs this building and The Madison, that's also in West Loop. I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I lived at Circa for two years. I left when I was offered to renew the lease for my one bedroom at $2,550+/month (after utilities). I moved to a nicer building in the same neighborhood and pay $500/month less. Circa is overall a fine building but poor value proposition. Pros: -Folks in leasing office are very nice -In some ways an excellent location, with proximity to restaurants and grocery stores (but see cons below) Cons -Sound is not isolated well. I could frequently hear, loud and clear, my neighbors arguing and babies crying down the hall. There's also a drug treatment center across the street that can get rowdy, and note that there's long-term construction across the street. -It's a pure rental building, and built accordingly. Cheap materials throughout (vinyl rather than wood floors, scratchy carpet, very porous and stain-able countertops, etc) -The amenities are lackluster (very small gym and pool) -Note that no utilities are included, and you are sharing utilities with your neighbors. Some of my highest bills were when I was out of town for the entire month. Water, sewage, electricity, gas and internet are all additional. If the price point were lower, I'd consider going back, but it would have to be significantly cheaper than their current asking prices. Maybe they'll revise their price points in light of all the new construction in the area. My current place in West Loop is 6 grand a year cheaper (!), and overall a nicer, quieter building. read more

Circa 922 is a beautiful, well-managed property! AND it's close to so much nightlife (like Girl & the Goat!), quick groceries...not to mention a great nail salon right across the street! What's not to love? In spite of some of the other reviews posted, the new management team is consistently making improvements to the building's appearance and policies. They've made several additions to our amenities like a new conference bar right next to unlimited coffee and drinks! There's even a new, fancy package system! The overall upkeep of the building and communication through emails and elevator signs from the office staff is much appreciated. I love this place! Great views and plenty of fun to be had at home and right in the neighborhood. read more

The units are pretty much held together with gum. So while this is a great location, dont expect the apartments to be high quality. Also, they have so many TV's in the shared spaces which no one ever uses. Seems like a waste of money. The gym is just ok, the grills outside are good, other than that nothing is special. read more

He was the person in the leasing office I worked with to get a tour, sign the lease and throughout the whole moving process. After being lied to for more than 8 weeks about a major brickwork project that has been extended for months, I'm just so disappointed in Lincoln Properties, who bought the property a few months ago. I've lived at Lincoln-managed apartments before, and always had a good experience. But the management here doesn't care that the residents have to listen to extremely loud grinding and sandblasting day in and day out, from 8-5 or 6 PM everyday. The project was referred to as minor maintenance, and we were told we'd have to give up our balcony for 4-5 weeks. Now over 2 months later, we still can't access our balcony, we still can't work at home or even just enjoy an hour or two of peace and quiet during the day. The blasting and grinding of the brick of course gets all over the place, and the windows are covered with something that prevents any natural light from getting in. It is SO LOUD, constantly. I can't believe this has happened, and that the property is basically expecting us to continue to pay for an apartment that I can't have phone calls at, or nap, or watch TV, or use the balcony. This project will end at some point. But I will always remember being treated like my home and my right to enjoy it doesn't matter. I can't imagine trying to deal with them on anything else that may come up. I've lived here for over a year....and in apartments for more than 15 years. Stuff happens. I was able to ignore the doors that constantly have issues with locks malfunctioning, or the garage door thats broken off and on for days at a time. I was able to deal with the ridiculous utility bills because you're sharing with neighbors who leave the heat or AC on constantly. I was able to handle the one elevator being unusable--both broken and just reserved for days on end. But the lying and the lack of regard for residents is inexcusable. One good thing: the maintenance staff. They are absolutely amazing. read more

Recently relocated to Chicago and spent two full days looking for apartments specifically in West Loop. Compared to the others buildings we saw (many of which we liked), this apartment was the best blend of modern clean finishes in the apartment and included building amenities. To be honest a few other buildings may have included more amenities but we felt this was the best overall deal we encountered and never felt like we were going to get tricked into or out of something down after we signed. (This is when I comment on the friendly and honest management staff who clearly explained all the amenities and costs and answered emails we sent after the tour to clarify questions we had). Obviously the location is so close to Randolf Street but also two groceries and Target...and nail places and dry cleaners and banks and train stops and....it's such a great neighborhood. I travel for work so also love how close to the highway we are (yet don't notice it at all on the day-to-day) so I can get to each airport in about 20-30 minutes. Can't beat it. I have only lived here a brief while but was so happy with my move-in experience and have found the neighbors (and their dogs) are friendly and kind. So far it's a great community and can't wait to use the rooftop and pool this summer!!! read more

As a southerner born and raised, I like to think I know a thing or two about hospitality. Circa922 lives up to those standards! From an incredibly helpful leasing office to great amenities (including freebie Fridays), I am so happy to have settled here in my recent move to Chicago. Naturally, there are things about city life I'm still adjusting to (like garbage trucks at 5 am?!) but that's no fault of the apartment complex! I love being able to grab coffee from the coffee station in the mornings, sit out on the patio and watch football during nice weather and pet all the pups that live here! Did i mention they have great amenities for the furry members of your family too? Because they do! We have two big dogs and the Circa922 folks have been extremely welcoming, wanting to know all about our babies. They have milk bones when you walk in the front door and dog-specific events like a doggy dip in the pool to wrap up the summer! If this isn't enough to persuade you, take a look at the area on yelp. Restaurants, workout classes, bars, groceries, entertainment, public transportation - everything you could need in walking distance. read more

I am a current resident painfully biding my time here on a street level unit, 102. I soon came to realize why that unit was available ( for suckers like me). The street noise is sickening. It does not help to have windows that do NOT bulge (outside of Hercules and management refuse to fix). With the windows "stuck up", you catch EVERY tormenting noise in a lofted bedroom. Worst living experience, hands down. Prospective tenants, avoid this unit. read more

I lived in Circa for a year when it first started leasing out units. My unit: -Although it had *gorgeous* views facing east, that could not make up for what it was lacking. I wanted to move out right away but decided to stick it out for the remainder of the lease. - I hated my studio apartment. There are NO CLOSETS. None. Where do I put my clothes? Where do I hide my broom? The kitchen only had two big cabinets to put my kitchenware and nothing more. Awful. Limited counter space, too. - The flooring and fixtures were nice, but they used cheap appliances all of which fell apart at one point or another during my stay. The building: - They skimped on the amenities. It's a smaller building and that's somewhat understandable. - This is a LEED silver building and that's great if you're looking to save the environment. However, this means you can't ever take a hot shower or bath. Your dishes and clothes will also be washed in cold water. - Speaking of taking showers, my unit's individual water tank was so tiny that I had to wait at least an hour after running the washer to take a lukewarm shower. If I had guests over, just forget about them taking anything but a freezing cold shower once you've taken one! - My mail packages were getting lost all the time in the beginning. Later they added a package retrieval system that helped, but I still saw amazon packages thrown about all over the lobby. I didn't bother having anything mailed to me at Circa after someone picked up my Nordstrom package. - They don't have concierge or 24 hour security. - One positive: the air in the ventilation system goes both ways :) The neighborhood: It's West Loop and it was a perfect walk to work. Super convenient walk to Mariano's as well - love! read more

We LOVE living here. We moved in a little over a year ago. Our apartment is beautiful: beautiful kitchen, a balcony, big bathroom, gorgeous dark floors. There are so many fun amenities: several beautiful gathering spaces indoor and outdoor including TWO roof decks, pool, dog run, business center with printer, free coffee, grills. The gym just got two peloton bikes, which is just AMAZING. The package concierge service is also great to have. What really makes Circa special is the staff. The management office team is SO friendly, they actually seem genuinely excited to see me when I get home from work every day. They are also so helpful and responsive. And I didn't even mention the location - can't beat being right in the heart of the west loop. I work in the loop and enjoy walking to work pretty much every day. The ONE thing I wish I could change is the lack of storage in my apartment. The bedroom closet is a nice size, but other than that, there's really just a small coat closet to store everything else. They do have storage lockers available for rent, which is great. read more

My husband and I are "empty-nesters" and we just downsized from our house in the suburbs and moved into Circa 922 2 months ago. We are loving it here! Adam and Kristin both somehow knew our names within days of us moving in which made us feel so welcome. We love having the character of the Printers Loft building with the exposed brick, but we also have more modern amenities like the pool, grill area, and fitness center. Everything is very convenient (e.g. indoor parking, package concierge.) The location is great - an easy walk to restaurants on Randolph, theaters, Ogilvie and Union stations, UPS, dry cleaners, Green and Pink lines etc. Super easy to jump on the highway too. read more

Had a good experience here. It is super quiet from an apt on the 5th floor facing Sangamon. Building is just a year old so everything is new. They have the latest technology with package service and online payment. The leasing office personnel are very good to work with and flexible(I did a sub-lease). Really easy to move into with multiple wheeled carts provided and a large elevator. I don't hear anything from my neighbors, the walls are very thick even if I hear music from their doors in the hallway. Cons - Large drug addiction treatment across the street so my view is of group therapy so I don't have my blinds open often. Rent is high and utilities are itemized separately on top of it which is tacky for luxury - come on you can't cover the 0.24 gas recovery usage fee. read more

We have lived at Circa 922 for one year and we couldn't have wished for a better living experience! The management before the current one was pretty bad. That's probably why you might find some bad reviews on Circa, but don't let it stop you to check this place out. Great (and clean!) amenities, the best location (right around the corner from all the bars and restaurants on Randolph) and very friendly and helpful management. We loved it here and were sad to leave. We lived in the newer contemporary style part of the building and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a place in the exciting West Loop, or Chicago for that matter. read more

Terrible management company. I have to send multiple emails and then finally stalk them and chase them down for any request. I also live on the first floor and when asked about the street noise, was given a vague answer which lead me to believe that it was not bad. Now I get to listen to the glorious sounds of trash trucks constantly coming and going at any hour of the day. Nothing like a 4:00am wake up call of a dumpster being slammed to the ground....every..single...week. Without notice the management will make changes, such as using our parking garage as a revenue generator, now allowing strangers to park in select spaces in our secure garage. read more
