Pay up front at the register then take your receipt to the counter where they will fulfill your gelato dreams. ;P Prices were good too (considering we paid a Euro more for a smaller "piccolo" cup on the Main Street around the corner) especially given the higher quality treat at this place. Our two scoop piccolo cups and cones cost us 4 Euros each and they are generous with the scoops. I got their specialty pistachio and coffee flavors and oh wow!!! My son got the lemon and watermelon and those were both really tasty too. Husband chose the Dubai chocolate and cheesecake and thoroughly enjoyed those. We can't wait to come back again tomorrow and the next day!!

My wife and I tried four flavors between the two of us: ananas (pineapple), blood orange, pistachio, and stracciacella -- the first three were 5-star, delicious flavors, while the straciacella was disappointing (3 stars). While the staff was friendly and helpful (and they offer samples, which is great to try flavors, but it also slows the process a little bit), it is a popular spot, so prepare to wait for a few minutes before ordering. There is also limited seating inside, so between the few tables and the line waiting to be served, the storefront can get crowded. One extra benefit that didn't encourage me to visit but is a nice plus: Ciacco has a bathroom available for paying customers.

There was no wait and the staff was helpful and friendly. We ordered the classic affogato per the recommendation of the staff. To my surprise, the flavor profile was much more different from what I'm used to and I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hyped it up to be in my head. The gelato was good and Italian coffee is known to be more concentrated with less caffeine (which I strongly prefer) but the combination of the two together somewhat tasted off to me. I'd probably would've enjoyed the chocolate and pistachio more but it was still a decent mid-day pick-me-up.

On this trip to Italy I skipped lunch and enjoyed this treat and sat in the piazza to relax and watch the people. The shop is smaller but service is professional and quick. There is a lot of temptation to also purchase a variety of chocolate pieces/bars. Do yourself a favor and give in. You will do enough walking to justify it.

We were able to get a table right away even though it was pretty crowded on a Saturday morning. I wanted to look at the pastries and order there, but the whole process was a little chatoic. I told the woman behind the counter that I was sitting down at a table, and she told me she would hand it to my waiter. After waiting a bit, our waiter had to come back and ask what I ordered, and it seemed like he wasn't able to find it. Eventually he did come back with the correct order, and he was very apologetic about it. We haven't had the best service in Italy, but our server here was amazing! He was so kind and made the experience that much better. As for the pastries, I got the croissant with vanilla cream and the raspberry maritozzo. I wasn't expecting to like the maritozzo because I don't usually like cream puffs, but this one was so different from the ones I've had in the US! The cream was so light and fluffy, and the brioche bread was the perfect accompaniment. The raspberry jam added a nice tart flavor to it as well. Overall, this place gets a little crowded sometimes, but it's a great place to stop by when you're shopping!
