One of the best gelato places I had in Italy. The line is long during the evening but goes by fast. I love how they put a waffle on top of your cone. It's so crispy and such a great combo--perfect crunch to go with the gelato. There's a good variety of flavors to choose from and this location has the best texture for gelato on my list.

The choices made! :)!!

Service was fast, late on a Wednesday night. I had the three scoops...bc when in Milan ; ). Pistachio, Hazelnut and Coconut. Happy they let you customize each scoop, makes all the difference for me. Had dinner 2minutes away and wanted lots of flavor choices so scooped out this gelato place on Yelp and was very satisfied. Plenty of choices-including organic/vegan options if you feel so inclined. Also check out my refrigerator filled with amazingness photo bc that had my jaw drop! Next time I'll enquire if any of it's gluten free!

Two words: UMM - HELL YEAH! This place has AMAZING flavors. They even have an option for Vegan Gelato. I think there are 4-6 vegan flavors and I've tried the chocolate. It tastes great and doesn't make me feel bloated! Haha! The other flavors are so creamy and so dense and yummy. They taste great. I ordered the two flavors in a cone. AT FIRST the cone looked so small... but boy do they pack it on! The portions were so generous. I'm glad I didn't order a medium cone. The vanilla is so creamy and delicious. Simple and tasteful. THE tiramisu is also just as amazing. I love it. I couldn't decide if I wanted a pastry or gelato, and since they had tiramisu I basically had both, right?! Haha. Yeah, this is a great place. Yummy.

Three scoops & Doughnut

Wonderful ice cream shop! Friendly staff. You must try the pistachio ice cream. Best I ever had. Doughnuts are fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.

This was our fourth stop for gelato in our three days in Milan. This wasn't a planned stop but we had stopped by a cafe nearby for a glass of wine and were feeling like some gelato after. The shop is cute and the workers were very friendly and offered us samples of the different gelato. Since we had just had Shockolat a couple hours ago, we both went with a small (€2.50, ~$3.50) and I, again, opted for pistachio. I love pistachio. Vanilla's version was just OK. I enjoyed it (I mean, it's still gelato...) and appreciated the biscotti and light drizzle of chocolate on top. The gelato was pretty creamy but didn't have the same bold flavor nor the chunks of pistachio that Cioccolati Italiani's pistachio had.

Hazelnut gelato yum!

Purchase your gelato at the door, then come in and ask to sample some flavors before filling up on your favorite! The price is not bad at all (~3 euros for a cone) and the staff is pretty friendly. They also have a great selection of flavors and the gelato is creamy, fresh, and flavorful without being overly sweet. I had nocciola (hazelnut) and pistachio and both were delicious! I remember sampling vanilla and coffee as well, which were equally satisfying. :) I'm already missing this gelato and will be looking forward to gorging myself on more the next time I am in Milan!

Walking up, my friend and I remarked on how chaotic this place looked. After figuring out the system and being helped, though, all went very well. Walk up, pay, get your number, and wait until it is displayed and/or called. They all spoke English, which was nice. The Gelato? Absolutely phenomenal. We have been traveling through Europe for almost a couple weeks now and that has been, by far, my favorite place. I've been eating perhaps a little too much now chasing that same quality. Mango was perfect, the lemon was citrusy but not sour or tart, and the Strawberry couldn't have been better. So many flavors to choose from. The location is great, too, as it is very close to the Duomo. Highly recommend to anyone.

The medium cone. Lemon and strawberry.

Today while walking through the streets of Milan we stopped at VanillA, an Italian Gelati. The store much like the shopping district, was filled to the brim with tourists and locals all vying for a spot in line anxious for a cone. Right outside the shop you could see a sign sporting the 2015 Milano Expo, which I had a chance to visit only yesterday. Over the years I have never heard anything but high praises for Italian Gelato and with an endorsement from the Expo I could hardly wait for a taste. I was not dissappointed. The Gelatario had over a dozen fruity and chocolatey flavors to choose from and before I was completely done weighing all the choices I ordered a medium scoop strawberry and lemon flavored, sticking with old favorites. I honestly had no idea the treat I was in for. Too often I find ice cream flavors to be too sweet and fairly dull on the tongue but this was a completely different story. The flavors were sharp, distinct, and wonderfully true to nature. Not too sweet or heavy. It was typically hot and sunny out so it began melting fast and my traveling partner and I raced to eat it quickly before making a mess. It was easy for us to share and eat quickly with the small spoon and circlar wafer they placed on top. We didn't waste a drop. The cone was small in comparison to what I'm used to in America but not dissapointingly so. After such great flavor the cone was an after thought and had there been more of it we probably wouldn't have eaten it. I was hoping that I would see some of my favorite ice cream flavors like cheesecake and espresso but was still happy with their selection. Had the cone been just as good as the Gelato I'm not sure I could have stopped at just one. The staff was fast, friendly, and curteous despite the horde of people they served. If I ever get the chance again I'd be happy to repeat the experience.

I must say, it's a bit chaotic when you walk in. I was sure where the line even started or the process of getting gelato. Finally an employee helped me. Short wait for my number and I was able to enjoy this delicious treat. There are a ton of flavor. I tried the pistachio and chocolate, it was oh so tasty! This gem is right behind the Duomo!

delicious gelato

Probably the best Gelato I have had ever. Simply delicious. And so close to the Duomo. It's on a beautiful side street. The people here are friendly. Prices are accessible. Most importantly, the Gelato is delicious.

vegan flavors include goji berry (in orange), pistachio (green), and hazelnut (beige)
