Always a line but worth the wait! If you've never had European hot chocolate, it's a must and Chocolat does it very well. It can be a little chaotic to get your order in and they probably could find a better way to do it, but if you're patient, you'll be rewarded with the most delicious drinking chocolate. The seating is very limited but they do offer 'to-go' which is nice. There's also a hidden upstairs seating area but you do feel a bit like you're on display up there. read more

This gelato was perfect to kickstart our Italy trip. I will say, though, it melted insanely quickly! I had the Dubai chocolate which had pistachio flavor mixed with chocolate gelato and super generous chunks! Flavor was 5/5, but the eating experience was 1.5/5 due to the accelerated melting. My boyfriend had stratiacelli in a cup, which proved to be a smarter idea. It was also delicious, though more subtle in flavor. My ice cream melted quickly and actually as I was trying to reposition it, took a bit of a tumble in part into the street. :( Cup may be best, or bring plenty of napkins! In Milano there are many gelaterie, however, not ALL will be as amazing as this one; especially since most of them are just full of tourist in the downtown area. This little gem hidden right by the Cadorna station is so convenient and easy to get to. The staff are very nice and the spot itself is very cozy. All you can see, drink and eat is CHOCOLAT! The only downside to it is that it is always PACKED, especially on a sunny, hot, day. I love their gelato, it's so creamy and delicious. This was our second stop for gelato in our three days in Milan. I had read this was THE place for gelato. Maybe we ordered wrong? Both of us only found the gelato... just OK. The one thing that was nice was that a medium cone came with three flavors for the same price (€3, ~$4) as most other places gave you only two flavors. So, if you like variety, Shockolat gives you more variety for your money. We both decided to get the medium cone and I opted for the pistachio, hazelnut and stracciatella. This one didn't come with melted chocolate in the cone like Cioccolati Italiani and while that was a bit too much; the gelato didn't reach the bottom of the cone therefore lending the last bites to a dry cone. The gelato was slightly lighter than at Cioccolati Italiani but the flavors were very muddled and we definitely couldn't distinguish between the three flavors. My friend had gotten three other flavors and also agreed that nothing really popped in flavor like it did at Cioccolati Italiani. Maybe we should have gotten all chocolate flavors but I think a good gelateria shouldn't offer a flavor if they can't do it right. This place was just OK for the two of us. read more

Usually when I get two incompatible flavors, I find it easy to eat them completely separately without mixing, but this gelato was so melty, making it difficult to do so.
