went here twice during my time in milan and they didn't disappoint. the workers are all nice and speak good english. when you go in you can order on the kiosk and then the workers will call out your number and you'll tell them what flavors you would like. expect crowds! this place is always busy but the line moves fast. they do have table service as well. no places to sit until after 9 pm they have lots of choices on the menu such as crepes, pancakes and even fun drinks
Good gelato, descent coffee, average crepes. Let's be clear, by American standards, this place is amazing! When compared to local Gelaterias, it's average. Still a good experience, well worth trying.
Nothing screams Italy quite like gelato. And when it comes to the gelato game in Milan, Cioccolati Italiani is top tier. It's giving fancy, creamy, and ultra delicious! Stopped by for an after lunch treat and Cioccolati Italiani did not disappoint. It's located right behind the famous Duomo cathedral, so it's a touristy spot that seems to always be busy. But, don't let that steer you away from a visit. This is one spot that that's far from overhyped! When you enter, you'll place your order at the kiosk. There posted menus with pictures and descriptions inside of you aren't sure of what you want. They have a ton of pre-made concoctions to choose from, but you can also keep it plain Jane or customize your gelato to your liking. Since I was there, I had to order something fancy because... well, why NOT?! Ended up going with their Bell Italia which consists of pistachio, custard cream, and hazelnut gelatos topped with a dark chocolate mini cone. When I tell you that this concoction was amazing! This was something out of a gelato dream. Seriously. First of all... those flavors, though! Could not get enough of the pistachio and hazelnut. It was so creamy and delightful. And that dark chocolate topping was like the icing on the cake! I actually spilled some of it on my shoes, but it was so damn good that I wasn't even phased by it. Word to the wise; it can get messy! When in Milan, Cioccolati Italiani is the place to go for some mouthwatering gelato.
Their pistachio gelato was really good, and I really wish I would like this place more. Their ordering and pickup systems are confusing, no clear signs and lines are chaos, where people cutting your lines easily.
This location is right in the heart of Milan right by all their shopping. I've been here in the past and I recently came back with the intent of getting gelato. But they also offer drinks, cakes, pastries, and lots of gift options as well. You order at one of their kiosk and they will print out a receipt with a ticket for you. I came on a busy day and waited about 10 minutes until my number was called. I got a small two scoop of gelato in their smaller cone. I got their 75% chocolate and hazelnut gelato. Both were good but the hazelnut gelato was the star. I also have tried their pistachio gelato before as well which is also pretty good. Oh and I love that you have 3 different chocolate options to coat the inside of your cone. I always get pistachio in mine and it is so good! This spot is busy busy busy. They have outdoor seating but its for customers who are doing full service dining I believe. Still worth checking out.
A bit of a touristy location, but you have to try a Cioccolato Caldo when in Italy. Not just a hot cocoa, this is a thick, high percentage cocoa beverage that will absolutely change your idea of hot chocolate. Located on a corner they have two outdoor seating areas. Have a seat and a waiter will be with you soon. Scan the QR code at the table for the menu. The first nine pages are in Italian. Pages ten through eighteen are in English. They offer coffee drinks, coffee and chocolate concoctions, cold chocolate beverages, gelato of many flavors, cakes, regular coffee, crepe and waffles. Their version of Cioccolato caldo comes with pistachio, hazel nut, strawberry or whipped cream on top. Whether you get your cioccolato caldo here or elsewhere, you have got to try it while in Italy. This is a convenient location for a sweet treat.
Very mid gelato: way too liquid--started melting out of control almost immediately--and the flavors were not super strong. The brownie crepe was pretty good but way too sweet. However, it does have a bathroom, a valuable commodity next to the Duomo. There's also outdoor seating, but there's not much of a view since it is on a side street, and a seating fee.
Solid gelato place multiple different unique things to try. Felt like the last time I've been here it has gone a little downhill. But still a must visit place. Gelato flavors are not too many, lines are long, the chocolate fountain it's only used for a very little portion on your overall products. But the staple must visit and try while you're around the Duamo area
Outstanding choice for a gelato break and many creative coffee drinks. Fabulous flavors. I selected Puro (pure) pistachio, divine. Nothing Nothing like Italian gelato. Sit outside and watch Milan go by. 46
Ice cream at 10 pm in Milan? No problem! Line is bigger than ever lol. Love the selections and cute waffle. I got myself pistachio with dipped white chocolate waffle. Delizioso!!! You can get different topping and variations of flavors. Table may harder to get during busy hours but we got lucky.
Yum yum gelato in a very strategic place! Visited this gelatieria on the day we were doing our own food tour around the duomo. We got ourselve a cup of stracciatella and pistachio gelato and a cannoli. The gelato was delicious, rich. The cannoli had some pistachio pieces on one end and candied orange on the other, of which im not a big fan of. I'm more of just sweetened ricotta. We went in late november, so it wasn't the warmest, and people were sitting outside. They've got decent amount of tables out.
Amazing!!! It was soooo rich and creamy! The service was so nice too!! Going to come back here again before we leave Milan!
Located in the heart of downtown Milan, this lovely little coffee shop has hands down the best iced coffee ever! After taking a sip of my husband's order, I was blown away and had to buy my own. Life is too short for bad iced coffee!
one of the best pistachio gelatos in milan!! the gelato has actual bits of pistachio that provide a lot of texture. with every purchase of ice cream, you get a waffle chip and get to pick between the chocolate sauces to dip it in. they also have a sit-down option where you can order a Cappe Speciali, like an elevated sundae. The issue was that our order came out looking nothing like the image with its various toppings, yet after informing the waiter, they took it back and added the additional toppings. read more

Awesome place to get some espresso fix. Its the thing. Morning commuters flock to places like here to get some coffee and bite to eat. I got the matcha tiramisu which was advertised at the outside corner. It looked awesome. Actual one inside the paper cup, nah. Need to come back and try other things. Cannoncini looks very good and at awesome price. read more
Date of visit: May 25, 2025 After a wonderful meal near La Galleria, we needed something sweet and found this lively spot to score some gelato and a piece of cake for my non-dairy husband. Lively isn't halfway describing this place, madhouse is more like it! You start at the kiosk and you don't pick your flavors of gelato, just the type. Then you wait in line for them to call your number and people are jumping in front of you as though that will get their number called first (spoiler alert: it doesn't). But it is quite hectic and if you ordered cake too, that's at a separate counter and takes a crazy amount of time for a piece of semi-dry cake. The gelato itself is very good, it's just small for the price and the wait. read more

My friend and I came here for cappuccinos with chocolate drizzles. It seemed like we couldn't get a table, but the waitress ushered us to the side and squeezed us in. At first, we were a bit disappointed when our drinks came because we thought there was only chocolate on the side, but as we drank more, we found there was a ton of melted chocolate at the bottom - delicious! The location can't get any better, as the Duomo is just down the street. Great option for some coffee and/or sweets while in the area. The menu was quite extensive and they definitely had some insane desserts to offer. Considering it's in such a touristy spot, the prices for the drinks seemed fairly reasonable, but some of the fancier desserts were a bit more expensive. Overall, a win in my book! read more
An intense gelato for sure! It's very rich but very delicious. The out chocolate in the cone before the gelato! It's fun to see all the chocolate being made and the big bars you can buy. I loved the waffle they decorated it with. It's a wait but a good experience. read more

Nice cafe and delicious gelato and coffee! Highly recommend for quick snack, on the Dumo plaza ! Wonderful location ! read more
Funny thing is that I don't even like ice cream... But in Italy, the ice cream tastes so different that I cant and won't say no to it. So the gelato is quite lovely whichever flavors you get. But I would recommend getting one of the chocolate combinations. They have other desserts like crepes and coffee drinks but they are famous for their gelato. This place is right near the duomo and for me right near the hotel we are staying at while visiting the city of Milan. They are extremely busy in the day time but the line moves fast. You pay first for what you want and then you get into another line to pick up the dessert you got. They close most nights at 11PM but on Saturdays they are open until 12 at night. They have seating outside. One of the best places to get gelato in Milan. ~ read more
We had a few goals for our overnight layover in Milan and gelato was one of them. Let's face it. Any gelateria in Italy is miles above and beyond what we have in the US. Cioccolati was such a treat and worth the wait if you happen to be in Milan. Stand in line, order what you want at the register, get a number, wait until they call you. You can order one of their specialty varieties or make your own. Either way, you get some freakin delicious chocolate poured inside your cone before the gelato comes on top. The gelato was smooth, silky, amazingly flavorful. It didn't stop there. The cone was absolutely wonderful with the melted chocolate! This is definitely a touristy destination but don't let that stop you! read more
Can I just say the pistachio with its bits of nuts and the dark chocolate had me wanting more even after I finished my own?! Even the small size gets two flavors-- as you can see from my pic, it's plenty. Hint: need to go directly to the cashier to purchase your choice of dessert, and you are given a number. Once you are called, approach the counter and you may ask for samples before deciding. read more

Insanely bustling location. Located right by the Galleria in Milano, this spot has a lot of traffic. Went there after eating some pizza and was craving something sweet. You order from a Kiosk, and then show the receipt to the workers behind the counter. I ordered a the tiramisu and the hazelnut flavors, was top notch. The nutella on top of the hazelnut was a great touch. I also tried the pistachio, and it really does taste like your'e eating pistachios. Great Gelateria if you can bare the long wait time. read more

Mmm delicious gelato! This was one of my fave gelato places in Milan during my recent visit! No wonder the lineups are huge! They let you customize your order and you can even add on chocolate sauce and a macaron. I had a combination of the Madagascar chocolate, Nocciola and dark chocolate and it was so heavenly! I would definitely recommend a visit here! read more
As they might say back where I grew up, "This ain't no Drumstick!" It was our first Gelato stop when visiting the touristy Duomo in Milan. Our kids were jet lagged and hungry (or maybe Hangry at that point) and we thought it would be a nice late afternoon treat. It was packed in here with tons of locals shopping and also tourists. The line snakes out the door but is always moving. You place your order, get a number, and then wait until they call it. Then you watch them make your cone in front of you. I got to sample both a chocolate temptation and happy cone from my kids and both were excellent! Nice blend of chocolate, white chocolate, nutella, hazelnut. It melts fast so get on it once you pick it up. PROS: great flavor for chocolate lovers, conveniently located near the Duomo. They speak English here and take credit cards. CONS: long line (but steady). It's about 5 Euro per cone. BOTTOM LINE: why don't we have Nutella cones off the street back home? It was a hit, I'll be getting my own cone next time. read more
I typically hate going to places with so much tourist hype, but after seeing so many pics online, we thought we might as well give this location a try. Overall, I'd have to admit they have some pretty good gelato. However, due to its close proximity to Duomo di Milano, expect MUCH longer lines (full of locals & tourists), as well as PREMIUM prices. Nothing to go crazy over, but the quality is definitely there. They also offer some fancy €7.5+ cones that apparently tourists can't get enough of. read more

The Cioccolati Italiani was our go to dessert option on our week long trip to Milan and it's regional areas. This place was located steps from our hotel entrance right in the smack middle of central Milan. When we took the free Milan walking tour this was one of the stops we took a break at and I immediately indulged in a chocolate hazelnut cone. The ice cream is awesome and tasty and they always have a line all day. The only thing is that they don't have any indoor seating and the outdoor seating is very limited hence you got to get your ice cream and walk and enjoy eating it. We also tried the hot brownie with chocolate and vanilla scoops that was absolutely our of this world. 5 star all the way. If you are in central Milan near the duomo do not leave without trying their ice cream cones. read more
Chocolate cafe with chocolate infused coffee and gelato (among other things). Right in the heart of the touristy duomo area but reasonable prices and amble outdoor shaded seating. Both of our cappuccinos (dark chocolate and chocolate lovers) were as advertised but we left wanting more chocolate infused in the drink. Most of the chocolate in the chocolate lovers cappuccino was what you see on the rim. Would still return to try more drinks and their gelato! read more

Cioccolati Italiani is where sweet, sugary dreams come true! Located just five minutes outside of the Piazza del Duomo, this chocolate emporium offers some of the world's most decadent gelato and chocolates. Ignore the massive lines that pour out of the door. *Just make sure that you pay for your cone first at the register. Once you have paid you'll receive a number to stand in line for your gelato. The line moves quickly and the gelato is well worth the wait! During my visit I ordered three-scoop waffle cone with crema, pistaccio and white chocolate gelato. Since the gelato is made fresh daily many of my favorite flavors were already sold out by the late afternoon, but I was still very happy with my selection. The gelato contains no artificial colors and flavors and is made with organic milk and eggs. Life really does not get any better than this!!! Cioccolati Italiani goes one step further to perfect the already perfect cone of gelato. They pour your choice of white, dark, or milk chocolate into the base of the waffle cone. I'm not sure who the Italian mastermind that came up with this heavenly idea, but angels must sing his praise every time a cone of gelato is created at Cioccolati Italiani! TIP: Do not order your gelato in a cup or you will completely miss out on the freshly made waffle cones with your choice of decadent chocolate in the bottom of the cone! read more
