Came into this dessert and coffee spot in the high end Milan area. Security guy at the door and a very unexpectedly nice place to grab a coffee and a quick pastry. Tried two items on the menu with a shot of espresso and it was a great time for a break. There were chocolates and a breakfast menu to indulge in but it was a pit stop. Would definitely visit again. Service was great and ambiance was just perfect imo

I'm not sure it can get any better than Pasticceria Marchesi, its the best of Italian Pastry is selection, quality and presentation. My most recent visit was just as good as all previous visits making for the perfect start of the day, it just doesn't get any better! The staff was most helpful and attentive in making our selection of treats to enjoy with coffee and more importantly the selection of treats we brought home as gifts! The dining area is just as relaxed and comfortable as one could ever desire.

Sorry but no. Service was short & curt. They were out of everything and we were not there at an "off" time and the pastry we did end up choosing was dry & flavorless My best recommendation is to go for the opportunity to take pics of their elaborately decorated cakes but don't even bother to try it. Looks are deceiving!

Pasticceria Marchesi, as the name suggests, was initially opened by the Marchesi family (c. 1824). Nearly two hundred years later, in 2014, the pastry shop was purchased by the Prada Group and has since expanded to two other locations in Milan, as well as one in London. This location was the first addition (original being on Santa Maria alla Porta), and is strategically located in the vicinity of a flagship Prada shop. Entering Pasticceria Marchesi is like stepping into an elegant, well-organized jewelry box. Dainty, warmly lit pastel-colored pastries and candies adorn the celadon walls, while the aroma of coffee wafts through each nook. Confections are served on Rosenthal china as customers await from upholstered velvet dining chairs. Light reflects off of polished brown marble floors. Definitely worth a visit for this indulgence! Of note, beautifully boxed items are available, perfect as gifts or momento upon return home.

Stopped in for a pastry and espresso after shopping. Lots of seat options or stand at bar/tables. Delicious, smooth espresso and Venetezia pastry was light with lemon custard.

Great pastries, wonderful cafe ambiance. We did not make a reservation so we got two pastries and split them to share and an espresso that we had standing at the little tables. A very local place for a quick bite.

Located right on Via Monte Napoleon, Marchesi is one of the oldest pastry shops in Milan. The café is very popular but they have a small dining space inside which will usually have a free table or a short wait. What makes this café special is its unique and charming interior design. The decor is quintessentially cute and dainty, reminiscent of something out of Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel. They have a wide assortment of cakes, chocolates, croissants, sandwiches and other small finger food beautifully displayed behind glass. I went for breakfast so I had a small mozzarella and tomato sandwich with a cappuccino, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall I would definitely recommend coming here to enjoy some afternoon tea. The food, the service, and the general ambience are all fantastic.

We were able to get a table right away even though it was pretty crowded on a Saturday morning. I wanted to look at the pastries and order there, but the whole process was a little chatoic. I told the woman behind the counter that I was sitting down at a table, and she told me she would hand it to my waiter. After waiting a bit, our waiter had to come back and ask what I ordered, and it seemed like he wasn't able to find it. Eventually he did come back with the correct order, and he was very apologetic about it. We haven't had the best service in Italy, but our server here was amazing! He was so kind and made the experience that much better. As for the pastries, I got the croissant with vanilla cream and the raspberry maritozzo. I wasn't expecting to like the maritozzo because I don't usually like cream puffs, but this one was so different from the ones I've had in the US! The cream was so light and fluffy, and the brioche bread was the perfect accompaniment. The raspberry jam added a nice tart flavor to it as well. Overall, this place gets a little crowded sometimes, but it's a great place to stop by when you're shopping!

Instead, I bought a bag of Madeleines with both coffee and chocolate pieces and I managed to get the bag home without one being broken. They are very tasty and I have been having one every two or so days to spread out the time they last. Too bad there wasn't more time/stomach size to try more while in the shop.

Apparently a popular face on Food Television overseas, the store itself tight yet clean with a substantial variety of choices available, it was after perusing several Cakes, Tarts, Caramels and Chocolates as oddly shaped as the Kama Sutra that selections were made to take elsewhere for consumption, a trio of chocolates showing a thin shell that breaks cleanly and dissolves smooth around a number of unique fillings from which Olive Oil and Balsamic were chosen, though "Wood," "Speck and Pepper," and Pomodoro were oddly enticing. Unable to resist the elegant array of Tarts, a cost of €5,25 each actually a bargain all things considered, it was with the Chocolate Pumpkin Pie that first bites were enjoyed in a somewhat savage way without utensils, the Pepitas and Salt Crystals adding crunch to an otherwise creamy base while the Pear, Pinenut, and Chocolate Ganache version played off a similar ideas with the fruit's sweetness helping to mellow the rich Chocolate center. Taking a very different approach with item three, a little bit of flour folded in to 72% Cocoa beneath a thinly sliced layer of Figs, suffice it to say that there may be no better "Brownie" anywhere than the one Ernst Knam is selling, the base achieving a rare balance of light texture with intense flavor and little more than the glazed fruit adding sweetness.
