The staff out front were welcoming and friendly. They were there primarily to remind guests of the "no outside food or drinks" policy. So I chugged my Starbucks down before entering. The security checked my bag and I walked through a metal detector. . I stopped by the merch line before heading to my seat. There was ample staff to guide me to my seat. The seats were comfy and my view from 11 rows back was amazing. Sound quality, lights, and video screen clarity made the show top notch experience. Exiting afterwards was smooth-the crowd just kept slowly making its way to the nearest exits- no traffic jams of people going the wrong way.

Not really a review, just a report about Dipson Amherst Theatre's Secret Cinema, for Tuesday June…read more9, 2026. Because I've gone to Regal's Monday Mystery Movie a few times, I thought I'd compare the two events. IDK when the next Mystery Movie will be, but last night the next Secret Cinema was said to be scheduled for July 14. That would be Bastille Day, if I'm not mistaken, so maybe the movie will be an old French film, or something set in France. Maybe The Pink Panther. No way to know in advance. I did find out on June 8 that Secret Cinema does not show new movies, but went anyway. (The TCM channel is one of my favorites.) Last night The Wizard of Oz was shown on the big screen, after a short talk about the film. Tickets for Secret Cinema are $10 and concessions are half price. Or maybe that's just for popcorn. I'm not sure because all I got to drink was a 20oz bottle of Aquafina, which was $5.50. If you enjoy old movies, "old" being anything from vintage to classic, you will want to check out Dipson Amherst's Secret Cinema. Always a Tuesday night.

The theater replaced their seats with the comfy recliner seats, but they are beginning to show some wear sooner than I would have thought. It was $10.00. I think it may be worth it to drive a little further to a larger chain theater where Bargain Tuesday is actually a bargain. P.S. I enjoyed the movie.

I have a movie pass so prices don't actually matter to me, but if you don't have one then this theater is the absolutely amazing. Why you ask? Don't get me wrong, it's nothing special when you walk through the front door but it has everything you could possibly need here to enjoy a movie, including overpriced popcorn and pop! (Which is 50% on Tuesdays). The actual theater itself was extremely comfortable thanks to the big recliners and the fact that no matter where you sit, you will have an an awesome seat. Overall, this is an incredible bargain compared to other theaters.
