I have to say, one of the WORST movie going experiences in my life!!! I went to see IT 2 today and there was about 7-10 cell phone interruptions, people talking non stop and phones/Siri going off in the middle of the showing. This movie theatre should hire someone to stand at the entrance and ask people to leave if they disturb the movie for others. We left, it was so bad. People even brought their crying children into a horror movie!! How could the theatre allow this? Very disappointed- I will never return to this theatre and I'll be happy to advise other not to either unless they want a completely distracting movie experience. I tried to complain to customer service but they were not at their desk and kept me waiting. Horrible. They don't give a crap about their customers. read more

This is such a disappointing movie theater, today I came in expecting to watch a movie that I had paid for over a week ago to make sure I had it reserved being that I know it was going to be a big box movie (lion king). I come in today expecting to watch it but got rejected by the employee saying that the movie screen wasn't working. I understand a projector can have an issue but this is not the first time this has happened to me in this same movie theater. I went with my family to go see the new Jurassic World movie. We had our tickets ready on our phones and when we went to scan them in the front the employee did not greet us or say anything at all. Then our tickets did not print but yet again we looked like dummies because the lady did not say anything. We kept waiting and waiting, about 10 min more there had already been a long line just to scan the tickets. A lady behind us tried speaking to the employee but did not say a thing yet again she would only shake or nod her head. Finally until the manager noticed the line he came to us and told us that the machine wasn't working and if we needed our tickets we said no and we just wanted to pass through but Diana did not say a word to us about letting us through! A newer, nice and clean cinema. Size is decent and seating is comfortable. Located inside the mall so parking is liberal on weekdays and terrible on weekends. Concession stand have a great selection though a little pricey. Great viewing experience in the past but staff should be trained to provide good customer service. It's not acceptable no matter how long and busy the days work is, but in my case at 11 am at the ticket stand , the teller is so cranky and rude. So I know this is just a movie theater but come on! It doesn't take much to just clean. First off walking in all the trash can where overflowing with trash AND the halls where empty! I thought oh well they must of had a full theater just let out... NOPE. When we got out of our show the same trashcans where still overflowing. Also on the way in I used the bathroom, no soap... no towels. Now they do have the air dryers but I like paper cause its faster and more hygienic. But no soap!? So I'm supposed to stick my hands into popcorn and eat it with germ filled hands? And judging from the lack of cleanliness around the whole theater I think I will pass. I printed my tickets at home so all I had To do was go to the ticket taker and get in, but for some reason he couldn't scan our Cinemark app code or he didn't know how. He told us the incorrect theater to go into, and didn't give us and others the 3D glasses we were supposed to have for the movies. The concession stand counters were a mess and it was no ways busy at 5pm on a Friday. For some reason the register at the concession checkout wasn't able to take MasterCard. Service - Kiosk outside to pick up my tickets from Fandango was a horrible experience. I had a line behind me but kiosk took forever to read my finger tips. Basically has to push really hard for it to read. Once I got my ticket then off to another bad experience at the concession stand. Well one it's a very odd layout. It's basically self serving drinks and order where the popcorn is to get an off the menu item. I ordered a hamburger which was cold. Ask for them to heat it up more cause I'm sure it's a microwave cooking everyone's food. Got my drink and popcorn and another bad experience at the movie theater. One pet peeve is people talking during the movie. There were several people who wouldn't shut up and I guess trying to be funny by yelling loud remarks towards the movie. They should have someone at least check in and wait in the theater 5 minutes to see if there are any people being disrespectful. I will definitely not come back here. read more

I've been to this theater a couple of times, and each time I've had a positive experience. It's so clean and modern, I love it! I came in today 07/18/15 for the 10 am Antman in the XD auditorium, the feature was in 3D. Let me start off by saying that I used to HATE watching anything in 3D, but ever since I started coming here, I actually don't mind it, it looks great and sounds AMAZING !! The seats are also comfortable and I do like the reserve seating. Lines to buy tickets are usually what you wait for the longest, even then it's not long at all. The concession stand is self serve so usually never a wait there either. The stand itself is always clean and free of spills, they've always been well stocked with nachos, hot dogs etc. In the front before you get your popcorn and soda there's a cafe, they have ICE CREAM! and it's not over priced in my opinion. George (Jorge?) usually seems to be the one that always helps me, very, very friendly guy, he's in the cafe area. I LOVE the milkshakes they have there, TRUST ME and get one, you will not regret it! It's only 4.75 for a 24 oz . My only complaint is that I wish it had an entrance through the outside and not inside the actual mall, it made it a little confusing the first time I went. read more

I have been here a few times now and have only had good experiences. On Tuesday's you can see a movie for $6.00 which is a good deal but be prepared for it to be busy. You can buy your tickets in advance online or on your phone. But it sucks they don't have the option to scan tickets on someonesomeone's phone like most places. So you still would need to pick up your tickets there which seems like a waste. But at least they do have a couple machines you can do this at if you don't want to wait it line for customer service. The seats are new and comfortable but would be better if they reclined like others these days. Their confession area is pretty awesome. They have Starbucks Coffee, ice cream and all sorts of other goodies. Most of the stuff you pick up yourself and then you just go to the cashier to pay. They have the most awesome pretzel bites with nacho cheese I have ever had. Give this place a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I will never go to this theater again. Went to see frozen 2. First of all the snack area was a MESS. HUGE MESS. Food everywhere popcorn all over the floor and soda fountains. Mess everywhere. The theater seats are so small and close together anytime someone passed by they knock your seat. People/kids behind us way too close so they kept kicking our seats the whole time. It was just too much. I thought I would give it a chance since I live in Carson. But no. I will not be going back there. You get 2 stars for trying. My friend and l have gone to this theaters many times since it's opening. He and l were glad to see a theater so close it's conceivably in walking distance. However we have been very disappointed in the cleanliness of the establishment. The last several times we were there the concession area has been a mess. There is no reason for popcorn to be all over the floor and no attempt to clean it up. We must have sat in the lobby for a half hour prior to our movie and the floor was the same. When l Went to the restroom it wes a mess as well. When we came out of our movie my friend asked to speak to a manager and the young lady wanted to refer him to an usher. She was clueless and their wasn't a manager in sight. We usually see a movie every Weekend and have been doing this for years. Neither of us want to see a movie in a messy theater so we may very well be returning to the AMC. Hopefully they will get their act together soon. read more

Why did you ruin our date night Cinemark? For years we had our twice a week dinner then a movie date night . It always started out at dinner with us completely over ordering way more than we can actually eat. Then we always get our food in a doggie bag for our Jacky wawa Sahsa or for lunch the next day. Before the days of Uber and Lyft, we would have one glass of wine with our meal and then go straight to the theater with doggie bag in tow to enjoy the movie. So tonight, we had the usual dinner and now two glasses of wine thanks to Uber and Lyft, and headed to Cinemark, which we just started going to. The very friendly ticket ripper told us to hide our double bagged food so we could get in. But we had nowhere to hide it. She said just put it in our car, but, well, Uber and Lyft don't work that way :/ Two managers came over, and after I explained our predicament and that Sasha was waiting for her after dinner treats, I figured they would understand. I was wrong! They said no exceptions, doggie bag or not, no outside food, even if in a bag, hidden, or triple bagged, would be allowed in their theater. We had 10 uneaten wings! I pleaded with them that we always over order and have left overs, and now Uber to the movies. The managers were unmoved, so we took our two passes and left. If you like dinner and a movie and plan on going to Cinemark, be sure to order JUST enough food as you will not be allowed to go to Cinemark that night. AMC and Regal will be our next outing since they didn't seem to mind. read more

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when this movie theater opened up a couple of years ago. Being that it's so close to our home it's been our go-to theater since its opening. However I think this will be changing and we will once again need to travel outside of our city to have an enjoyable movie going experience. Over the last six months I've noticed this theater steadily declining and deteriorating. The concession stand and bathrooms are a mess. The theater as a whole does not look like a new theater. I hope management gets their act together before the cities of Torrance and Long Beach start getting our business once again. read more

I've lived in Carson for almost 20 years and was excited when we finally got a movie theatre, as I am an avid movie goer. I was at the grand opening and had loved that I no longer had to go out of my community to see a movie. To date, I have almost only attended Carson Cinemark, check out my rewards activity. I'm so disappointed because every time I attend, no matter what time I come, the theatre concession area is filthy (popcorn smashed into the floor mat, sticky soda liquid looking at the drink area), not stocked (cups, lids, straws and napkins, salt, condiments). The last time I attended, Sunday, November 25, the youngster who rung up my order, didn't great me, leaned on the wall, made no eye contact and said, "here" instead of thank you, enjoy the movie, when he handed me my receipt (maybe he was suffering from teenage funk ‍ but it was bad). I think it is so disrespectful to come into our community, get our business and subject us to that type of service. I have spoken to several managers, who apologized, said they would get someone on it but as I left the theatre after the movie, the mess remained the same. I haven't experienced this at the AMC in Torrance or the Edwards in Long Beach. I continue to come to this theatre because it's 5 minutes from home, the actual theatre where the movies are shown are good and the kettle corn, which I love, isn't offered everywhere. It doesn't take much to keep the concession stand clean between movies and after a rush even if you have to pick up the entire mat, sweep and put down a fresh mat. Someone should be assigned to clean and stock the area and all staff should be held to at least a cordial customer service level. Please, please, please take care of this. Thank you. read more

This is my go to theatre that's close to home. The theatre is pretty clean and the prices are very reasonable compared to AMC THEATRES ( not including the snacks . They are expensive like most theatre ). The seats are comfortable and the popcorn is always pretty good and fresh. The only thing I wish they can do or work on is the set up of the concession stand. I'm pretty sure that theatre loose a lot of money due to the grab and go methods they have. The way the lines are set up to get popcorn always causes confusion with the customers . Also there is always just one side open for purchases . Definitely need more staffing on the registers especially when new movies come out. Well that didn't take long... I just watched my first fight take place in the audience during tonight's showing of Insidious 3. I've watched 3 movies at this theatre since it was opened and, although it is a beautiful theatre, each night has been ruined by obnoxious and loud people. Tonight was especially awful. Two young black females were being inconsiderate during the entire movie. People would ask them to be quiet, but they just continued. Finally a Mexican couple began cussing at them to be quiet to which the two females responded in kind. The situation escalated to the point that the Mexican couple and the black girls were nose to nose yelling at each other. To add to the absurdity, the main instigator of the fight, the most obnoxious of the two black girls was at least 6 months pregnant! I'm pretty much done with this theatre so I'll just continue to go to Del Amo AMC, even if it is a longer commute. The hassle of being around immature and obnoxious customers has ruined this Carson Cinemark for me. I honestly believe that cinemark knew that by building a theatre in this area there would be problems, like tonight's confrontation for example. Think about it, in which other theatres do you see suited up security guards with earpieces patrolling the area? read more

So our first time bringing our kids to this theatre to watch Hotel transylvania 2 & the website said movie started at 11am.. so we get there at 10:25am since we are early birds, there is a line already outside.. there are employees in front of registers doing nothing but talking to each other there are ZERO SIGNS informing customers what time gate will open & the WORST experience was that made us leave to go down to out normal theatre DEL AMO AMC & spend our money there was the fact an elderly lady was frustrated & kept walking up to the GLASS DOOR asking why they aren't opening the gates & they completely ignored her & kept laughing/smiling & did not acknowledge her. Kept looking at the long line that was forming. Normal people like to get there early, get popcorn & drinks & a good seat before the movie starts. #1 if you upset customers you could of easily went to the door & informed them of what time the gate will open # 2 acknowledge & show empathy #3 not laugh & gawk at elderly people who are upset perception is key and the way it looked was let's laugh at this stupid old lady who's angry at our door . So CINEMARK train your employees a little better because this experience was HORRBLE.... bad enough for us to drive down 5 miles to Del Amo mall & get better customer service. People are judging this theater based on the location of it. I grew up in Carson and I guess we just aren't used to nice things. I personally like this theater.. I mean heck, it's brand new!!! I've only been here twice and fortunately no negative experiences. I'm going to take advantage of it while everything is new and clean. Just a couple pieces of advice: don't get the nacho cheese. Very bland. The food section is more of like a cafeteria style so it's more like you grab the food you want and then you pay. When you order popcorn they add butter for you but if you're like us and want more butter, you can add it yourself. The seats are comfy as hell in the theater and I highly recommend watching in XD. Screen is huge, theater is huge and reserved seating! read more

I will be a bit generous on this review, in that I'm not a fan of movie theaters, in general, due to the high prices, and questionable seating and cleanliness. However, as this theater was renovated only a few months ago, everything was still in good condition and clean. Seating was a tad narrow, but otherwise comfortable. The 'reserved seating' is new for this type of theater; not sure if I like it or not. The movie we saw (Ice Age: Collision Course) was not well-attended, so you could still move seats quite readily. Also unable to really review the quality of the sound system and screen due to type of movie we saw. I do appreciate that they are newer, closer to home, and still a couple bucks cheaper than Del Amo or RB. read more

Its like cafeteria style, get a tray, grab your food (except for the popcorn they'll help you fill it) and pay at the register. They got Starbucks too. Went to see Spider-Man: Far From Home and noticed that the dialogue was sounding muddy, like there was no high-end (like everyone was talking through a wall). During the quieter parts of the film, the dialogue was audible, but still not great. There were often times in which the audience was louder than the soundtrack. So they would laugh at one line and then completely drown out the line that followed. During the action sequences, the dialogue was straight up incoherent. If you listen to the sound in the theater across the way vs the one that I was in, it was pretty noticeable, even to people that have no knowledge about sound. I spent the first half of the film trying to explain the issue to multiple staffers. But the problem is that you're talking to people who have zero technical knowledge and would be completely incapable of fixing it even if they understood you. I had suggested that they try comparing theaters so that they could hear the difference, but no one, least of all Valerie (the manager) seemed to care at all or have any kind of follow up. Eventually I got frustrated and just left. If I'm expected to pay this much to see a movie, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect decent sound. But if you like silent movies and torn up seat cushions, this place is great. read more

Finally checked out a movie here and it was a nice experience. I would have to say the reclined seating is great but the middle arm bar between seats are not cool at all. They don't recline all the way like the seat does. Sound and video were great. The way you buy concession items is like a cafeteria where you pick up items along the way and pay at the end. They offer Starbucks but it's not a Starbucks Outlet. Restrooms were well maintained and it was a Monday Night. Will return, plenty of parking behind the movie theater. read more

Hello Yelpers! I'm a fan of this theater and have watched several movies here, including Star Wars and Captain America. Here are the pros with very little cons. I like this theater better than Arclight in El Segundo. Pros: 1) Brand new theatre with very comfortable and wide leather-ish seats. 2) Concession counter is gather first and then pay. This cafeteria like procedure definitely hastens the lines. 3) Located in the nicest and cleanest part of Carson in the South Pavilion Mall. 4)The picture and sound are clean and digital. 5) The theater itself is clean as well. 6) Assigned seating makes it easy without the need to wait outside and beat the traffic. Cons: 1) I really have no cons other than to make this an even better experience is to add the sale of alcohol and gourmet food. Thanks Carson for upgrading your services! read more

Okay so I visited this location on Sunday 4/14/19 for a 130pm show. After purchasing a ticket, the first observation is that the crowd for the concession stand was backed up to the lobby, in fact only one side was open, with 1 cashier. WTH I almost missed my show. After asking the manager regarding the unacceptable service, she mentioned several members of her staff called off???? So either the schedule was not completed correctly or the employees all got together to stage a call off sick day!!!! Guess who suffered the backlash, the paying customer. read more

My new go to theater! I typically go to Regal on Tuesdays up in PV but now Cinemark is open I'll definitely be here. Definitely not as crowded as Regal and it's brand new! Convenient machines for purchasing tickets if there's a line. Lots of choices as far as concessions, still expensive though. Theater is nice, nice leather seats that recline, but they get kinda hot after a while. I typically go late at night for showings and they have a good amount after 9pm or so. Really nice theater, but let's see how it holds up. It's not in the greatest area and the mall is a dud but hopefully it stays good read more
