So, I've turned to Yelp as I always do to find the variety of serves that I need when I travel. During my search I have found Ana's Hair Salon which says they use Kérastase & Orbe product lineswhich are both made by L'Oréal Professional. (Kérastase being more high end then Orbe) I have been using Kérastase on my hair for last 8 years and have found it to provide wonderful nutrition for my hair. Actually? I think my hair is in love with the quality of this amazing product line. I also went on their website to check and make sure Ana's is on there. Which they ARE! I am very impressed with Ana's website, searching for the information that I needed was quick and easy. I found everything right away. I say, "great job, Ana's Hair Salon"! I know that making an appt at a salon with only 3 or days notice can be tricky since most are booked out for weeks in advance, but I still had to try. I called 2 days ago to make an appt for this coming Saturday & they quickly partnered me with a Sr stylist named "Marisela". I spoke to a gentleman named "Ruben" who has a nice voice and is very professional. He seemed to listen intently to everything I explained about my needs etc. He made a couple recommendations that are new to Kérastases product line which I found helpful so I booked a great time at 1:00pm for the next 4 Saturday's during my visit. (as a little note: due to the fatigue caused by the MS I have been getting my hair professionally washed and styled at once a week for the past 8 years) Based on my first phone impression with Ruben I give them 4 stars. I was devastated. A few days before the wedding I visited my grandmother in El Paso and researched salons. Despite some negative reviews, I made a consultation appointment with Mireya at Ana's Salon. THANK GOODNESS, SHE IS AMAZING! Mireya assured me the TN stylist was wrong and my hair can get light. It would take a couple of sessions of course, but it was definitely doable. After my consultation she delivered beautiful, light color with impressive professionalism, service and quality of work. The salon is clean, welcoming, and offers beverages to clients. Additionally, Mireya, Christina, and the stylists obviously take pride in their work and take the time to do it right. The prices may seem a bit high but that's because you pay for what you get- Above average quality work. For reference, I paid $360 and it was worth it. Best coloring I've ever received. Ana, the owner, is very involved and likes to meet the clients personally which I thought was a nice touch. I've attached a photo for comparison. Top left is my original hair, top right is after the TN stylist, bottom left is after Mireya at Ana's Salon. Bottom right is what I showed both the TN stylist and Mireya as my dream hair- Obviously you can see how Mireya nailed it. She would need one more session to get it to the dream hair ashy color.

My first impression was quite positive, as I entered to a bright, pleasantly blue salon. With modern decor, and blow driers hanging from the ceiling next to the haircut chairs, the natural light really contrasted with the darker, TV illuminated place I usually go to. I was the only customer in the salon and got to sit down for my cut immediately. The workers were kind enough to offer me water or strawberry lemonade, which I did opt for. It was refreshing, and a nice customer-service touch. My stylist did a good job, and while the cut took longer than it usually does, she was obviously very detail-oriented and made pleasant chat. While the cut is priced higher than I am accustomed to, D & M Paul Mitchell is a great option around campus and will certainly patronize them on occasion. She was very nice, professional, and very attentive with both of us. We went in with requests for something different, and were extremely happy with the results! Elizabeth took her time to look both of our hair, and asked many questions before she proceeded with the color and cuts. She was masterful at taking care of both of us without either of us feeling neglected. The salon is very inviting, clean, spacious, with soft classical music playing in the background. Seve takes a good 20 minutes cutting my hair in different directions. End result I have voluminous beautiful hair after my haircut. He can do the same for men as well. A cut above the rest when it comes to hair dying. I do not believe in risking my hair with an inexperienced hair dye person. One area was cut way too short, another side was left noticeably longer, there was basically no fade, and the hairline was crooked. The haircut looked rushed, uneven, and unfinished. I pointed out the problems and asked for it to be fixed, but apparently the next customer waiting was more important than correcting the haircut I had already paid for. Instead of taking the time to make it right, the stylist seemed ready to move on. That was probably the most frustrating part. Mistakes happen, but refusing to properly fix them because another appointment is waiting is terrible customer service. Now I'm left waiting for the sections that were cut too short to grow back while I figure out who can fix the rest. I went in for a haircut, not a before-and-after project for another barber. Definitely not the experience I expected from a professional salon. I will not be returning, and based on my experience, I would not recommend Ohair's.
