For example, I was verbally told the gloss was $60, not $69, which is exactly why a visible price menu matters rather than totals being calculated on a phone. For a single-process color, trim, and gloss, the final amount felt excessive given that I did not receive highlights or a more complex service. This review is not meant to argue charges, but to share my honest experience so others can make an informed decision. Also depending on your length of hair, you will be charged and added $10 to your haircuts regardless if its about the shoulders or not, as well as not letting you know of the charge u til you see it on your online receipt, since they don't have paper receipts either. DO NOT GO HERE. I went to this place for my roots and a touch up. I came out with extremely burnt hair. The bleach was left too long and my hair turned out white/gray. The stylist had to apply all this stuff to fix his mistake, yet I was still charged over $360. DO NOT recommend in any way shape or form. The least they could have done was not charge me for all the extra stuff they had to do to somewhat fix they mistake. They serve free Mimosas and other complementary drinks FYI. That really made me smile. The ladies were incredibly nice, beautiful and the service was fantastic. Unfortunately, I really disliked my haircut, but that's okay - my hair will grow out. It was partly my fault because I asked for shorter (sometimes one person's idea of "shorter" is not the same as another, you now?). But other than that, I think they really are fantastic and I would recommend them, just make sure to be very firm about exactly what you want and bring lots of multiple pictures and be clear. read more

My parents had their hair cuts done here back in January. They were both pleased. With that said I took my mom last month, Dulce who cut my parents hair remembered my mom the second time. She's attentive and professional. She even went as far as helping me walk out my mom to the car as well as the front desk receptionist holding our bag. Furious I had to tell her to stop cutting. It has taken two weeks to finally write this review. I was 10 minutes early for my appointment. I was offered a drink that never came. I sat for 40 minutes waiting for my appointment. Then! Why don't stylists who do not know how to cut short hair think they can do it? I was so angry once I got home and was able to thoroughly inspect the cut. I had photos of the haircut I wanted, both front and back views. My stylist cut the back with a razor. Ok, except that she brought the razor way up. Then she cut my hair around the ears with just scissors, pulling out the hair to cut it. Instead of a bowl cut I got a man's cut. If that wasn't enough the right side around my ear did not match up with my left side. I know that my hair will grow back but in the meantime every time I look at my hair I get more and more annoyed. Honestly Studio 209 blew away my expectations. The experience was amazing, from the moment I entered this establishment to the moment I walked out. The customer service was on point from everyone in the salon. Coming from a salon that was kind of snobby and had poor consistency in their customer service, this place was a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend this place the attention to detail and the passion of these stylist is sub par and worth every penny. The moment I walked in I was greeted by the friendly receptionist. Who was quick to go over my services with me and handed me a menu and asked me to let her know what I would like to drink. I opted for water and she quickly brought me a bottle. Alexis my stylist greeted me and walked me to my chair personally. He took the time to understand what I wanted, he gave me some options and he explained the whole process. He then had me change into a robe and started the work. He personally did the whole process from dying my hair to washing and massaging the treatment I picked (the massage was so good) and cutting and styling my hair. Again coming from a salon where the assistant did all the work this was just another good sign for me. Mid process the receptionist came to check on me and again asked me if I wanted anything else to drink and if I was doing ok. The color and cut came out exactly how I wanted. My hair felt so soft and smooth. At the end Alexis walked me out and offered some products that could help my hair be healthier. Might I add that I was running late because I was driving back from San Antonio and Alexis still not only accommodated me but took his time. Since relocating to El Paso, I needed to find a good hair salon since it's been at least 1-2 years since I've done anything with my hair. I was very critical in my search to find a good stylist and salon, and I didn't want to be unhappy with my hair especially since I was in dire need of a change. I originally had a consultation with Cinthia about a month ago, who went over my concerns and recommended a color/style that would compliment my skin tone and facial frame. She broke down the details of what was involved, process, length of time my appointment would need and also pricing. She showed me several pictures to find out which color/style resonated most. The front desk receptionist, Christina, was very warm and friendly, and both ladies made me feel very welcome. My appointment lasted about four hairs, and I have dark, thick hair that was way below my waist. Cinthia took the time to brush out my tangles, and took about 2 hours to apply the basic bleach to start prepping my hair for a caramel inspired balayage. During that time, I was offered a complimentary cocktail, Cinthia accommodated my phone charging needs, and we had great conversation all throughout. The last two hours consisted of my wash and toner being applied, and then also a cut and style. We decided to opt out of the Keratin treatment that was recommended because my hair responded very well, and decided to do another session in five weeks to lighten again and do the PM SHINE treatment. Cinthia didn't try to pressure me into unnecessary treatments and respected what my main concerns were. Overall, I will return due to the great service provided by my stylist and also the staff. I went in for a consultation beforehand and had provided them with a picture of the desired hair color. What had been discussed and what my hair ended up looking like was nowhere close. My hair was dyed too dark at the top and the rest of my hair that had been bleached looked brassy. I was told the manager would give me a call. The resolution was to go in and have my hair redone by another hairstylist. Because my hair had been dyed too dark, there was no way my hair was going to look anywhere close to what I wanted. I tried to trust the process hoping for a better outcome yet my hair was too brassy. Keep in mind, you are charged by the hour to lighten your hair. As well as there being a cancellation fee up to 45% of what your service would have cost. You will not be reimbursed as well. It's a complete disappointment as I also noticed my hair falling off as they tried to bleach it and my shirt got ruined by the bleach. My hair is now damaged. read more

Studio 209 looked like it was trustworthy. I came to the staff with a photo and asked for what I wanted. Stylist said ok. It won't go that light but we'll try. I was aware. It was a balayage on dark brown short hair. I also said I want the brown to go lighter so an all over lighter color When she was was done, the highlights were green and ashy. She then asked me to go home and wash it out that it would go away. The hair looked like she had used a cap- it was messy and it looked like grey hairs but green. All over. When they said they could do over i returned to a very rude staff later that day. Andrea took the colors and put them in front of me and said This is all I can do. Tone it and make it darker Essentially I'd walk out the same way I walked in but 265 dollars short I was also charged for treatment when the stylist told me she only used half of it on me. The other half she never applied. The manager said they could tone it, then when I told him I was upset I was losing all that money and leaving the same way, he said ok you get nothing No toner nothing. I Can refund half but at this time we are not touching your hair. Also the bleach broke a lot of it off and they didn't even offer to trim it. I saved for months for this and they happily took my money and gave me ashy green dark hair and attitude All I wanted was help to fix it and they refused. This was my first visit to Studio 209, and I'm quite happy with the results. I'm growing my hair out for my wedding in July, so I just went in for a baby trim. My total came to $42 with tip for a wash, cut, and style. This is more than I would usually spend, but their service and free mimosas make up for it. The appointment was fast and efficient, lasting just about a half hour total. My stylist (Bianca, I believe?) was chatty and friendly without being overbearing. She was confident with the scissors, brushes, and blow dryer. At the end of my appointment, she briefly tried to sell me the smoothing serum she used on me, but didn't push when I declined. I took my daughter to get a haircut. Her hair length was past her waistline. She asked to have about 8 inches cut off due to split ends. It was supposed to be a straight cut no layers. Jackie did a horrible job. Her hair was not cut right at all. Some hair was actually missed and not cut. And she had a short cut on another end of her hair. I have all the pictures to prove it. I tipped Jackie $20 bucks for a horrible job done. Oh well, you live and learn. Then I called to speak to the manager and he was not available. I left several messages and he never cared to return my call. This salon plays the high-end card but obviously doesn't deliver. They don't care about the customer all they care about are their inflated prices. We went back and her hair was fixed but more hair had to be cut to make it look right. Also, the lady who fixed the bad haircut had the audacity to ask if my daughter had been sitting with her legs crossed which caused the bad haircut!! What? Are you serious? Blaming the customer? I was searching for a salon where I could have a balayage done. This salon is fantastic; staff is extremely friendly and accommodating! I am from San Antonio, Texas and had just recently moved to El Paso. Hence I was able to get an appointment the same day I called which I was surprised! Front desk was great; upon arriving she offered complimentary beverages, alcoholic beverages which were great! Or Water bottle- depending on your taste. My hairdresser was Britney, she was great! She ensured that my hair was done the way I wanted and took her time with me. I will definitely come back and see her while I am in El Paso. I was very happy with my hair. Even though I came in and had dark hair and wanted to go lighter, she was able to achieve the look I wanted without damaging my hair. My hair was so soft! Softer than how I had it before I got my hair dyed and cut. Also, I received a personal text message three days later from Brittney to ensure that I was happy with my hair. The following day I received a phone call also to ensure I was content with my hair. Thus, overall, this studio was fantastic! Best one thus far that I have been to. Blondes beware! The salon itself is lovely and the receptionist and stylists are super friendly and kind. Unfortunately, the stylist I had, Nina, though super sweet, she messed up my hair. I was already super Blonde and I asked for my blonde highlights to be touched up and the hair underneath that was naturally dark for her to try and use a technique that will brighten that up. She ended up doing all over bleach on the bottom and and doesn't look good cause my hair is orange. My cut was a pixie, and I look absolutely ridiculous cause I have patchy brassy hues all over and this giant orange chunk on half my head. Doesn't blend nicely and since the hair is super short there is no hiding it. She took my pretty ash blonde and toned it but it didn't lift to a blonde it turned orange. I wanted to love it, but it wasn't until I got home and took a closer look that I realize how bad it was. I'm so disappointed. I'm in the Army too and I'll be lucky if my unit doesn't call me out on this mess. The salon looks good from the outside but I'm not convinced the stylists know how to deal with clients that have gone blonde. UPDATE 1/15/18: I was contacted by the manager and she scheduled me an appointment with another stylist 3 days later for an opportunity to fix the orange in my hair. The stylist toned it down to a darker ash blonde. I appreciate her attempt in fixing someone else's mess, but at the end of the day it's not what I was originally seeking. It's taken me backwards with the progress I've made going blonde and now I absolutely can not wait until my hair grows out so I can start over. To be honest, although most of the obvious orange isn't visible, it's still not flattering. It's brassy looking, I have a grey line across the center where the blonde and the toned ash blonde meet and it's basically a blunt line, doesn't blend nicely. Yes, it's not orange and looks a bit more natural, but upon closer view there are still issues with it that stylists at higher end salons should not be making. (Yelp review will have pictures from both hair sessions). Nothing against the 2nd stylist, cause she made a fair attempt to fix something she didn't cause, but at the end of the day as a client you would like to get the end result you were originally seeking. I've been through my fair share of high end salons from Chicago to Nashville and have maintained blonde platinum to ash blonde hair the entire time. I have to say the talents of the stylists here does not match the level of this Salon's prices and I have never been this disappointed in my end result. It's clear they don't know how to deal with blondes, and being through as many stylists as I have been through over the last decade it's easy to know who doesn't understand the blonde development process. If only I knew what I know now before going here. At the end of the day, the original stylist should not have let me leave the salon with orange hair, as someone with 26 year experience in the hair industry as she has, you expect her to have a unique understanding of hair and color tones. Although I do truly appreciate the manager trying to make things right, sadly I won't be returning. Today I went in for my appointment and was told I had been replaced because I missed a reminder text about my appointment (I could not find the text in my phone). Once before I made an appointment for a Saturday and the receptionist booked it on Sunday's schedule so when I showed up there was no time for me. I've got three kids at home, and any time I carve out for myself is extremely valuable and brief. My horrendous, abominable, and unfortunate experience at Studio 209 salon, ended with a $135 tab and my hair in ruins on 2/20/2017. My hair was mutilated by Cinthya, brown virgin roots, turned into a copper orange looking rust. Below the rust laid my muddled hair which was in an array of colors I did not ask for. I wanted more subtle roots for my already blonde hair, and to be more blonde by adding highlights. When she had originally done my hair there was no natural light which I never thought would make such a dramatic difference. Once I got home and looked in the mirror I noticed how marred my hair had become. I called the salon back and explained my predicament. I was told to come back to get my hair fixed. I had to leave very disappointed because the stylist got off work. I called back later that night and wanted a call from the owner/manager. I was told I'd get a call the next day. By 11am on 2/21/2017 I was tired of waiting and went to the salon nearly in tears asking for my money back. Once again I get told no, but another stylist would fix my hair. I still wasn't happy, but I figured I would just give her a shot as I understand people make mistakes. Before starting I mentioned I had work at 4pm. The stylist assured me we would be done well before that time. She starts on my hair and before I know It 3pm rolls around and I ask her if she is almost done. Although I was assured it would be complete she unfortunately needed more time. I was informed that if I come in on Thursday to finish it I would have to pay despite my situation. I left with my rusty, muddled hair, in tears. I have not received a call from anyone of any importance or authority. I just recently moved to El Paso and I have been looking for a good salon since arriving in the area. I have thick, curly hair and it takes an experienced stylist to tame my beast. Many of the girls that I work with come to Studio 209, so I thought it was worth a shot. I asked for a trim and highlights. My honest review? My highlights look blocky and she didn't trim my hair. At all. And still charged me a full 30 dollars for a haircut. I had my mom trim my ends when we got home and she did a better cut than the stylist did here. It was a botch job. SO impressed with this salon, from presentation to quality of service. A previous salon had completely destroyed my hair color and seriously botched my cut. What was supposed to be a medium chestnut color ended up black. I had to remove color and tone it myself just to be able to go out in public. After 2 months I decided to try Studio 209 for some balayage. Juanita did a wonderful job adding subtle dimension to my hair and blending a bad cut into something I was much more comfortable with. This place is too in customer service! Walking in, everyone was warm, welcoming and smiling. I went from virgin blackish hair to a dreamy rose gold thanks to my super talented artist Maggie. Not only did she completely transform the color of my hair but corrected a botched cut from a previous salon all while maintaining my hair's health. I was surprised at how NOT DAMAGED my hair was after the bleach, dye, blow dry, style, etc. This process took all day but it was the most relaxing, pampering day of my life!
