Update! Cindy's Friendly Tavern is a fun low key dive bar. Most of the clientele are lifetime Lovelandites, so can be pretty clicky. Depending on day and time you go. Otherwise it is exactly where you want to go if you want to meet real people. read more

Seemed like a college bar but I'll give credit for how late they are open. Not a bad spot in downtown Loveland but not the best either. Still had a solid time. Better options near by and location is nice but nothing too fancy about it read more

Nice little inexpensive bar in downtown Loveland. Juke box, pool table, bottled beer. Outside area is nice. Fire pit if it's a chilly night! read more

Place is a staple in Loveland. If you want a place to chill that isn't $6/drink then go in and have a seat and just be chill. read more

Cindy's Friendly Tavern - a view of the outside of the restaurant - Dive Bars Near Me - Loveland, Ohio

Great place for a cheap drink. Friendly atmosphere. I loved it. The reviewers who were upset that they were carded seem pretty ridiculous. It's a state law. Places lose their licenses for not enforcing it. read more

WARNING: They do not accept out-of-state IDs. My group of adults aged 35+ were refused service. Literally everywhere else in town has been lovely. If you're from out of state, check out anywhere but here. read more

This women who owns the bar the worst. She said I parked in her lot illegal stock stickers all over my car. We had one beer and walked on to another neighboring bar. Cindy??? Blocked my car in and demanded I pay $160 parking fee. What a crook she is. read more

If you want to get ID to buy beer first off and then get ID again when you go to buy more beer than this place is for you. Staff is rude. Plenty of higher class places to go in Loveland than this! read more

Morgan Kirby should have been kicked out of this bar . This place is so unprofessional it's ridiculous. The bartenders are rude, they don't take out of state IDs, this place is living in 2009 as if it's still the best bar lol. You guys definitely have some competition now because this bar is by far the most unprofessional and ugliest bar I have been to in Loveland . read more

Me and my friend went in and they immediately asked for our id's. That's fine, I don't care, fair question. Then the bar tender said sorry we don't take out of state id's. What the heck I have never heard of that. I mean we do look young but we are both of age which really frustrated us. Thanks Cindy for your kindness:) read more

I understand the necessity of checking ID's but this time was ridiculous.... On a Tuesday night I was celebrating my mom's promotion with my dad and her good friend. We checked around Loveland at 9pm and everything was closed but Cindy's. We walked in and grabbed a table and my dad decided to buy a round. The bartender refused to serve him unless she saw all of our ID's. Having left our stuff in the car and BEFORE even getting the chance to explain that...she proclaimed we all had to leave immediately and kicked us all out. The kicker is...she said we could pay for a round of drinks first, but then she would have to kick is out for not having identification. Some places just aren't worth the hassle. P.S. - Went in there on a busy Saturday night and didn't see a single person get carded. So if you're going to be rude at least be consistent. read more

Cindy's is a neighborhood hole in the wall and not everyone's cup of tea but with friendly bartenders and cheap drinks, you can't go wrong. Last time I came I didn't have any cash and there is a card minimum of $10 so with 3 whiskey and cokes at $2.75 I hadn't met it and they gave me a free drink chip (valid at any time) so I could use the card and not waste money. I'll always love coming here with my Loveland friends. read more

Real nice place. Awesome staff!! But they need a union and a cocktail list. They could also use a stall door in the men's restroom. Timmy made my drink perfectly, with the expertise of an Italian liqueur connoisseur. Tina was a phenomenal host. Would absolutely, unquestionably, visit again if for no other reason than Timmy is a super duper cutie pie! read more

This has become a regular stop for me and fellow Loveland High School graduates. It's not fancy at all, but it's a nice place to grab a drink with friends. I absolutely love sitting out on the patio in the summer, and it's easy to walk to from the bike trail. read more

You get what you would expect. It is a dive bar, dark inside, outdated decor but I've never had any problems. Drinks are cheap and no frills. I miss Cindy's jello shots though at 6 for $5 they were fun. And it's nice to be able to sit at a table outside and have a drink near the bike trail. Smoking is allowed outside. Be aware that they only serve beer on Sundays. read more

Were very skeptical of our ID's despite us being of age and here for work. Closed early and were very rude. Forced us out of the bar at 1:30! read more

I love this bar. Very laid back with down to earth patrons. I stopped in a couple of years ago during Sunday football games, and they had some nice homemade food offerings for everyone. Owner introduced herself to me a couple of months ago when I was there for a quick one. Very nice person and inviting. I'd recommend you giving it a try. read more

I've traveled all over the world looking for the perfect dive bar. Who knew I'd find it scenic Loveland, Ohio? If you want cheap drinks and a good atmosphere where everyone knows your name...come to Cindy's read more

Husband & I stopped here while roaming the streets of Loveland. This is a very comfortable & casual bar with plenty to do while you are having a beverage. We played Keno & chatted with the bartender who was sweet as they come. There's pool & darts, music & fun but the best surprise of all for me was when I went to the ladies room before leaving. WOW! I was not expecting a perfectly spotless and tidy little water closet. Whoever designed and outfitted this tiny little space did an awesome job! Every inch is laid out for necessary convenience and is shiny clean! Thank you for caring about us ladies!!! We will surely return!!! read more

!! NOT A PLACE FOR YOUNG ADULTS!! My friends and I went to Cindy's last night for a few drinks. We were enjoying our time, most of us were playing pool and one friend was just sitting at the bar alone eating some pizza. A lady walked up to her and told her that she needed to leave out of no where and she asked why and the lady replied "I don't need to tell you, you need to go". My friend then proceeded to ask the lady to speak to a manager, the lady then replied "I am Cindy, and you have to go". We were all very confused when she came to us to tell us it was time to go because she had gotten kicked out for minding her own business at the bar. No one was drunk or acting rowdy. Our theory is that she was told to leave so that regulars could have a seat at the bar because ever seat was taken and they were all standing around upset. We may not be regulars but kicking someone out just for their seat is ridiculous. I don't think a good business move is making paying customers leave for people who come often because then how would the bar expect more loyal customers to come in? I would not recommend this bar. There's many other bars with kind owners and rational regulars who understand that sometimes new people will show up and you may have to wait for a seat. Train stop is newly remodeled and much nicer anyways. read more

I attend bars at Loveland quite often. The bartender was extremely rude during our night out last night. This morning we called to see if they had found a phone, she said They cleaned the bar last night but you can come look. I asked if she could do a quick walk through sweep to see if she saw it and she said no. Extremely disrespectful and embarrassing as a business. Taking my money else where. read more

It is (and always has been) one of the best places to go to just relax, let your hair down, and have a fun time. My Dad (Charile Harper Sr.) owned it back in the late-40s and my grandfather (Rudolph Braun) owned it before him. They tell me that when I was a toddler, they let me run up and down the bar to the delight of patrons (who dubbed me "Dry Run"). Oh, and by the way, it was "The Friendly Tavern" back then, too. It was a favorite hangout for the veterans of WWII back then. Anyway, enjoy the old bar! You won't regret you visited! read more

A down home dive bar. Amazing atmosphere with a comfortable vibe. The bar tenders are amazing and friendly and the patrons are warm and welcoming. The scene varies from day to day but all kinds of people call this gem home. Aside from their top rate service and surprising drink selection, the owner and namesake of the bar is personable and welcoming. The tavern also supports the local scene adding one more wholesome reason to come and relax at a home-away-from-home kind of dive bar. I encourage everyone to come become part of the family. read more

OHIO ID'S ONLY! As a citizen of this great city, I love when my friends from out of state come to visit because I see it as an opportunity to show off the "hidden gems" of our city. I thought Cindy's so called friendly tavern, would be a great place to bring a friend from Illinois and show him a good time. I was sorely mistaken. After taking some of our parties drink orders members of our party were asked to show identification, which we all were ready and willing to do because we were all of age. Two Ohio ID'S were accepted and then came the innocent out of state friend not knowing what awaits him. After taking one glance at the Illinois identification, it was instantly rejected without any inspection whatsoever. When we tried to calmly explain the situation that he was an out of town friend from college coming to visit, the bartenders only response was "OHIO ID'S ONLY!" After seeing that there was no reasoning with the bartender and that the nonsensical rule was going to be upheld, we stood in disbelief from the interaction that had just occurred. We decided it was best to take our impure out of state business somewhere else, somewhere where people are not judged based on the state they were born in, but rather on the actual fact that they are of the legal drinking age. This experience has disappointed me and I will never be bringing business there ever again. Cindy's should 100% change their name from friendly tavern to place of unreasonable rules and regulations. Overall I would not recommend it to anyone. read more
