I say, go to the one on Pacheco Blvd in Martinez. Why you ask? Well first off, the customer service. The taller female here is pleasant, but not her co worker! She answered my question abruptly & rudely. Personality much? Nope. Had to go to this one today, because PG&E was out at the Pacheco Blvd location. Not only customer service, but the beans are way better at the other location. I got a bean & cheese burrito. Maybe a third cup of beans at best in a whole big flour tortilla! Stingy on Salsa too, only 2 tablespoon size plastic cylinders per customer, big sign. Please! Like I said, stick with the one on Pacheco, that brother and his family run a much better restaurant! read more

Okay so honestly this is a 4 star place in general but considering the location of Martinez and Concord area I bump them up to 5. They have the best taco salad in the area for sure! It is small inside but it has a brand new paint job and very well up kept. The employees are very friendly too. The shredded lettuce is fresh and the cheese is authentic Mexican cheese no knock off stuff. I dont think they make the taco bowl shells themselves but they are far from the store bought ones so I'm not exactly sure how to place that. Maybe they do male them just in a different than usual way and in advance or something. The refried beans could use some work. Seasoning goes a long way and the salsa in the salsa bar is super liquidy. I drink it with my chips literally. The sad thing is for the area this place is still better than the rest and the better ones are twice as expensive easily. It's great there is still a decent cheap go to spot but I think I might give a different place a try next time. read more

I ordered a super fiesta burrito burrito with pork and wet. The burrito was supposed to have guacamole sour cream all the condiments were supposed to be included which is why you call it a fiesta burrito what I received was a dry rice and pork burrito which tastes disgusting. I had the food delivered because I'm working and I can't leave and now I'm stuck with this food that I don't even want to eat see picture below and I don't understand why someone who does this for a living and makes burritos all day long can't make a burrito right? 4/5 stars due to consistency. However, I only really recommend their BCRs. I'm not a fan of their meat as it doesn't have enough flavor to me. Last week I ordered Al Pastor and it was pretty dry like it had been sitting out. But, back to the BCRs...they're pretty great. The tortilla is always delicious and warm and ya can't go wrong with beans cheese and rice! Prices are great, too. It's the best for a quick dinner when you don't feel like cooking and are on a budget. I also really like their potato crunchy tacos but wish it had a liiiitle bit more flavor as those can be quite bland as well. *side note, this is my husbands favorite Mexican spot. Cinco De Mayo has some really good crispy chicken tacos and for a low price! I love how you can get the party trays of tacos which is a really good deal as well. The only reason why I'm not giving them 4-5 stars is because while my hubby and I dined in for dinner before catching a movie is because I seen the girl clean and wipe all the tables with cleaner and then went to handle all the forks, knives, and spoons without washing her hands first. When I got home and started to eat my burrito, I noticed my meat was burnt...the cook knew they burnt my meat but still made my burrito with it. I always hit this authentic delish place on my way to the movies at contra costa cinemas .. I almost always order the yummy, comfort food crunchy chicken tacos to sneak into the movies and eat quietly .. this time I ordered the bean dip with chips and it was to die for .. warm gooey cheese in a wonderful refried bean that was thin enough to easily slip the chips into without breakage .. that is not an easy task .. Authentic!!! This has to be the best Secret Spot I have eaten at. Their Tortas are awesome as well as their other items on their menu. Great choices of meats for their enchiladas! They have Jamaicas too. Hard to find a taqueria that serves Jamaica. This place is definitely popular, so plan accordingly or order ahead of time. Cinco de Mayo is really my go to spot for consistent Mexican take out. I am very particular in Mexican food as some comes across without authentic spice and flavoring. I normally order carnitas and the meat is tender, juicy and flavorful. Portions are very good and the quality is great. You can see the kitchen preparing the meat in the back and they also fry their own tortilla chips. Really enjoy their fiesta burritos, crispy and regular tacos. Their tostada is delicious too. We used to enjoy this place but now we won't go back. Had lunch here today & the first thing I noticed were the dirty tables. Ours had a big long hair on it - come on, let's do a better job cleaning up! How can you miss that? Second, they are so damn cheap. Straws are almost impossible to unwrap they are so thin & crappy; napkins are so thin you need 10 of them (and I'm not messy); you get a measly basket of chips & have to get your own salsa from the bar in a teeny weeny plastic container. And I have NO idea what's going on with their sparkling water...buying "second hand" somewhere? Flat, flat, flat. I asked for cheese nachos with my toppings on the side because I don't want it all piled on top. "We don't do that anymore. Only the guacamole & sour cream goes on the side". I'm assuming because they don't want to use anymore plastic containers than they have to - those teeny weeny ones. So it arrived a big mess with everything piled on one spot. Ick. My hubby's taco plate was good - carne asada, pastor & carnitas. Thus the 3 stars. But the girl at the register was not very friendly, very robotic. The boy who was on his hands & knees cleaning the floors & wiping tables served our food...another ick. No one said thank you or goodbye. They use a nacho cheese sauce which i normally dont like... But, it doesn't taste like nacho cheese at all. Just a great cheese flavor with a perfect moisture to ensure bites dont start to taste dry Which is common for asada fries with shredded cheese. It was perfect. Pretty standard Mexican fare. Absolutely worth going and grabbing a burrito if you're in the mood for Mexican food and you're here in the shopping center. RANT I picked up dinner Thursday night at Cinco de Mayo on Center Ave. My Chili Relleno wasn't cooked the chili was still raw. I called Cinco to tell them about it and asked if I could have a credit on my next order. The woman on the phone said you need to bring back the relleno, I said I don't want to drive back can you just give me a credit on my next order. She said we need to see the relleno ourselves we can't just take your word that it wasn't cooked. Mind you we are talking a $4.00 item. I was so disappointed in their customer service.
