This is all my opinion try for yourself.Mexican and Tex-Mex ilike an country's food is highly regionalized and subjective.Ok Tex - Mex, competition would be Moe's Southwest, Fresco Taco and Chipotle's. It better than Chipotle in all ways. It has much better variety than Fresco Taco and a little better than Moe's. Interesting takes on traditional Mexican. That said in my opinion I prefer those two. read more

Me and my daughter she's 8 years old we love eating there people are nice food is good the price is alright

We never had problems there before but recently we ordered there and the delivery guy wouldn't come upstairs even though I said I'm pregnant. Then I called to complain because they never did that before and he said it was a new rule, that after 7, no delivery guys come upstairs. Then the next time I ordered I called them an hour later about my order and they said it was on the way, so another hour passed so I complained through Yelp, then I find out the delivery guy got confused with the address and delivered to the wrong people. We have our full address on eat24, they have our number. He could have called. I'm pregnant too so I needed to eat. After we cancelled our order then they wanted to send us a free order. We were like no thank you. Instead we ended up eating across the street from where we live. Never again will we order from here. They lost customers. That delivery guy should also be fired. read more

I am disappointed that there is nothing less than one star to rate this place......horrible service!!!!, on November 13th at 8pm i order nachos and a soda......45 min later i was still waiting for the delivery...call them and they said food was on the way...after 1 hour 45 food finally arrived cold ofcouse!!!......the portion was very very small only 6 tortilla chips with sour cram and a few slices of veggies....they charged me 16 dollars!!!!!.....called them back to complain and the person on the phone was very rude and told me " if you don't like it, there is other places you can go"........avoid yourself a Headache and don't come or call here!!!!! read more

Consistently delicious food and very fast delivery. We order from here at least once a week and have never been let down. Editing this review down from 5. We've had a few orders recently get very jostled in delivery and basically ruined. Also recently got confused by "guacamole" on the menu, which is literally just a paper cup of guacamole and nothing to eat with it. When I called up to say I didn't get chips, got a lot of attitude from the person on the phone, and needless to say, no chips. Probably will still order from here once in a while, but definitely not as frequently. read more

I really enjoy this Mexican restaurant because of the tasty food and the warm orange and brown color tones that decorate the interior. My favorite dish to order is the Pollo Asado ( Grilled Chicken) with Arroz y Frijoles (Rice and Beans). This dish is so delicious and it comes with a tasty avocado sauce mix on the side (so, so, good). I also like the carrot cake, it is very rich in texture and taste. Love the wall decor. I love Mexican food and this is a good place to get it. They make really good quesadillas and they make big burritos. The staff is nice. My only complaint is that I like my restaurants to have dimmer lighting, but other than that I enjoy this restaurant. read more

I went to the restaurant twice this week. I went on Tuesday and ordered the steak and chicken fajita taquitos and it was great. So good that I came back the same week to eat with my kids. The second time I ordered the same meal..it was a disappointment... the food was seasoned and cooked different.....so it tasted like a completely different meal. With the food being inconsistent I gave it 2 stars. Don't think I will go back. read more

I was so glad to hear of, Cinco De Mayo's Authentic Mexican Restaurant"s presence in my neighborhood!!! Ironically, I've had a "previously unfulfilled" CRAVING for Mexican food for the last 3 weeks. However, I don't subscribe to the belief in "coincidences." I firmly believe The Universe was planting the seed for the YUMMY GREATNESS; that placated both my tongue & soul yesterday evening! The food was seasoned to perfection! The flavors were like a combination of awesomeness multiplied by 60 mg's of Prednisone (steroids)! I caught myself moaning aloud (a few times) while DEVOURING my meal! The meat was cooked perfectly! It was fresh, tender & juicy; mmm, it was absolutely succulent! (Imagine me making a kissing/lips smacking sound right here.) My mouth literally began watering; while I'm recalling the remembrances of last night! What I did like about this little place was how fast they delivered and how wonderful it looked when received. However in my personal opinion I needed more flavor in the food. The guacamole was good but I was mostly eating lettuce and scattered beans. I didn't get the rich that I wanted in my order. ( I ordered the taco salad) I appreciate the service however. read more

Like another commenter recently mentioned, "this place started off great and ended up getting worse." That line is absolutely right. I don't know if there has been a recent change in management, or delivery guys - I don't know. However, I started ordering from them about 3 months ago and I'd do so about 2-3x a week!! The food was incredible, and well worth the money! Every kind of dish I tried, I fell in love with. My favorite was the fish filet quesadillas- woo wee! The amount of "grissle" on the fish, mixed with the cheese and the peppers and toasty butteriness of flour quesadilla, man!!! Anyway, my last and final order happened when I placed an order via GrubHub (which I've always done) and my food came THREE hours and TWO phone calls to the restaurant later. The guy on the phone said the delivery guy sent my order to the wrong place and he was going to include flan in the order as the error was on their end. I agreed to that offer, although, my gut told me they completely forgot to make my order altogether. But I went along with what the guy told me. It took another 45 minutes for the delivery guy to show up after calling the restaurant for a second time. My quesadillas were WATERY, the bread was SOAKED, and he didn't even put the damn Flan cake in the bag. So, I sent the delivery guy packing with no tip. I just hate that dark feeling of, 'this is it'-concerning your last time ever of eating at a particular restaurant - and alas this is it. read more

This place is outstanding! Just ordered on Seamless - on time, really lovely presentation, and what is in that salsa?! Wow.

Ordered delivery via Seamless yesterday: got the veggie burrito, chicken chimichanga (for the boo), nacho regulares and the chips with guacamole... Delivery was faster than Seamless predicted/estimated (ordered around 6:35 pm. They said ~7:15-25 & I got a call @ 7, en punto): sweet! Now, onto the grub: boo was all about the chimichanga... The nachos... eh... I reeeeaaaallly wish they'd package the chips separately... They totally sogged the hell up. Not exactly appetizing. The flavors were good, but who wants soggy assed nachos? Not this chick. You could barely differentiate between the chips and the rest. Also, I'd really like them to have more vegetarian options: the burrito seemed to be nothing more than beans, rice, some onions. Maybe get some mushrooms, spinach, maybe a nopales burrito... In any case, there was a nice kick to it. They added a good amount of the green & red salsa to the order, but I didn't really need em... The guac was decent: good amount of cilantro & good consistency. Overall, I'd try it again. Just wouldn't order the nachos take out unless they made that one little change in packaging & more opcionces con vegetales, por favor! :) read more

I bumped into this place while exploring the nabe and was drawn in by the lunch special and smell of the food. This is probably one of the cleanest establishments in the South Bronx. The decor and seating are awesome!! And the location across from Boricua College and the police station is so obscure and off the beaten path, that it is great for a quiet lunch or dinner date. On that note, I really had high hopes for the food. Unfortunately, the chicken in my $8 burrito tasted like it was boiled or poached with no seasoning at all and the rice & beans inside were kind of bland. They gave tiny portions of the hot sauces, which I only tasted. Luckily, I had some sour cream to liven up my meal, but I suggest they consider using lightly seasoned grilled or rotisserie chicken to keep up with all the Latin restaurants in the nabe. read more

Cinco de mayo is a celebration for your taste buds. The quality of food here is unmatched by any other restaurant in the area. The interior is modern, but also has a dinner feel too it. It's also always clean. For as busy as the restaurant gets, the staff is always friendly and easy to interact with. There's a definitely a family atmosphere from the patrons to the staff. Their breakfast burrito is top 3 I've ever had, it's an incredible value too. After my second visit the verdict was in... Life long customer. read more

The food was good but the service was awful so rude , I called to ask about prices because I didn't have a menu and I they just kept on passing the phone around they we're annoyed by common questions I even ask if they could plz send a menu didn't get one the calculations were all wrong they just was throwing numbers on the bill , the delivery man was rude and gave me attitude because he didn't bring a pen. But like I said the food was great they even give you complimentary carrot cake I would do a walking in next time. read more
