I called Russ to schedule a chimey sweep, and he asked on the phone if I had a traditional or insert. Me not knowing anything about fireplaces, I answered "traditional". Imagine my embarrassment when Russ arrived to point out that I have an insert, which they do not service due to the sheer weight of the thing. Russ was quick to say there was no need to be embarrassed. He then took a look at my liner, and noticed it needed repair. He offered to let me pick his brain regarding future service on the liner repair. He did not charge me for the service call, which I found shocking and amazing. These guys are just plain great! I heard about them through a home inspection company, in particular a guy with 30 years experience as a roofer and then turned home inspector. Super impressed with the work Russel does. We had him inspect our chimney before we purchased our home, and brought him back out for sweeping when it was due. Their work is very thorough yet efficient. We had them come out to inspect before a sweep because we were having odors coming from the chimney. They were honest and let us know that a sweep probably wouldn't solve the problem. They inspected the chimney provided us with a thorough recommendation for how to solve the problems, and in the end didn't charge us anything.
