1. Called started at 4:10 pm. Spoke with agent who missed lead what I was told when I initially signed up for thr service. She said I had to pay for parts on top of the $150 deductible. When I disagreed. She stated I needed to transfer for you to the plan department. 2. I spoke with the guy in the plan department and we verified what she stated wasn't true. He transferred me to the work order department. 3. Explain my problem...she looked for a company in my area. She came back to the phone and said I found a company. I asked where are they located she said the city name and I was like that's like 4.5 hours away from me they will not sevice my area. I have to call. I said ok. She came back to the phone and said they don't sevice the area. Ok, ma'am I have done some leg work. The people you are calling does not service my area. I have to call. Ok. She comes back and said they don't service the area. I wanted to go off but I remained humble. She started talking about dispatch. The phone hung up. Before someone say I had a bad connection, no, I didn't move my phone that was laying on the desk. No call back no anything. 4. I waited a minute or two, to call back. Reexplain the issue and she said, I have to call the company to see if they sericve your area. I had explain already what took pla e with the pervious agent. Ok, i still have to follow protocol. Ok, but can you look at thr notes. There's no notes from last conversation. At the beginning of the conversation I told her I spoke with someone and the call got disconnected. She called a company that is 4.5 hours away from and that they didn't service my area. I also told her she called another company and needed to do dispatch. Current agent stated I have to call them, it protocol. Ma'am, I couldn't get thru to them. They are closed. Sigh . If you had listen to me we wouldn't be going in circles. Wasting time. I asked if could speak with a manager. She came back and said they said, you need to deescalate the call. Ma'am what is there to deescalate ( No one rude or disrespectful). Tell your manager please I have a complaint on the previous agent. 5. Manager. Explain what happened and how disappointed I was because I had just joined their company. Ge ended saying I need to pay 150 for dispatch. Back story. They couldn't find a company that would service my area. Back to square one. Blah blah blah...are you done with (I can't remember what said on that part. I said, you want me to pay the deductible for service of 150 for what? You don't know who or what or when they are coming or what company because I have to wait for 24 hours for dispatch to call me back. Not only, I'm paying a deductible for service that I don't know who's doing the service. Make it make sense. He said are you done with this...i said, cancel my services please. He hangs up on me. 6. It took 3 different contractors and 3-5 weeks to get it working again. Each handoff between vendors meant restarting the diagnosis from scratch. **This year:** My AC stopped working again. The first contractor diagnosed a leaking evaporator coil. After a 3-week wait, it was replaced -- and Cinch charged me $1,050 out of pocket with vague justifications for what should be a covered repair. The unit worked for a couple of hours before failing again. The same contractor returned and is now saying the compressor is shorting. I'm still waiting on a resolution. Meanwhile, it is 100°F outside. I have young children and elderly parents in the house. When I call to escalate, I get automated phone trees and an outsourced call center where no one has authority to actually do anything. Requests for urgency are met with scripted responses. No case manager, no ownership, no callbacks. The core problem isn't a single bad repair -- it's a system that seems designed to delay, deflect, and minimize payouts: * Repairs that don't last (same system, two failures in two years) * 3-5 week wait times during a heat emergency * Unexpected out-of-pocket charges on supposedly covered claims * Zero meaningful customer service -- only robotic IVR and offshore scripts * No accountability when contractors fail to fix the problem A home warranty is supposed to provide peace of mind. I am appalled by the abysmal service I've received from Cinch and Sears, and I feel compelled to share just how disastrous this experience has been. In 2023, I filed a claim for my built-in microwave, which was part of a combo unit, because it was no longer functioning. A technician came to repair it but couldn't fix it. I was told a replacement would be ordered. What followed was a complete fiasco. First, it took months for the replacement microwave to arrive. Then, when it finally did, your team refused to install it, claiming the job was "too much work." Instead, I was offered a laughable $250 reimbursement to hire someone else for the installation. Two years later--it's now 2025--I still haven't received that check. To add insult to injury: -The replacement microwave was too small for the opening. -It didn't have the same power or electrical compatibility as the original unit. What was the result? I had to spend $2,000 out of my own pocket to: - Remove the old microwave. - Redo the electrical setup in the back. - Install the ill-fitting replacement. - Buy additional parts to fill the gaps caused by its size mismatch. This ordeal has been a nightmare. The sheer incompetence, lack of accountability, and complete disregard for customer satisfaction are beyond unacceptable. Cinch home service and HMS home warranty, they are very bad. They use Sears for any of their work. Getting appointment with sears will cost lots of delay. Then once I will get appointment for my HVAC service. The technician came and knock the door 2 times. I asked technician to stay for two minutes. The technician did not allow me to finish the bathroom. It is the Federal law that they have to allow to finish someone bathroom. Cinch and Sears home services should get sued. Sears technician named Henry knock the door and he left. He did not do any work. But he notified that my house power off so he could not work. He lied. Horrible service. Had a simple problem with sewer drain. A technician that spoke no English (Russian) was sent. Could not solve anything. Had to call a private company. Will cancel my contract with Cinch. Not worthy. Was charged $165 for the useless visit. read more
