I recently purchased an electric vehicle (EV) and was looking to get a home charger installed. Duke Energy has an EV charger prep program to get reimbursed for preparing your home or garage with said charger. They will reimburse up to $1,133. After extensively asking Duke all the questions to get this reimbursement, I asked for a list of contractors they have worked with. They gave me a list of 5+ electric companies. Go Green was the 3rd one I called and the only one that answered. Right away, they showed me elevated service. I explained the situation to them and they offered a free consultation to come check out my garage and give me an estimate for the EV charger installation. The very next week, Richie, the technician, came out and met with my husband to check out the space. The first estimate was a little more than what we wanted to spend (with one expensive part being the cost of the surge protector). My husband asked if we could provide the surge protector would Go Green supply the labor for installation. Richie said they could do that and also that he will come up with 5 different customizations of estimates based on different services and promotions. Richie left and within a few hours, the estimates were in my email inbox. I ended up choosing one of the mid-level ones and signed the invoice ocking in the price. Go Green had to order some parts so installation happened a little over 2 weeks later. Richie was the technician for installation too. It took him and his partner a little over 2 hours to install the charger. The city also needed to approve the charger so Richie said Go Green would handle the communication with them so they could come out. I did put in a request with him for a certain day and the city was able to accommodate. Once I received all my documents (the proof of EV registration, my paid invoice, and the approved permit), I applied for Duke's EV charger prep program. I was rejected about a week-ish later for not having an itemized invoice up to their standards. I immediately called Go Green and told them what happened and within the hour, they emailed me a new invoice which I re-submitted to Duke. Two weeks later, Duke emailed me approval for the program and two weeks after that, I received my check in the mail. This is a long review, but I wanted to explain the full process of working with Go Green to get approved for the EV charger prep program. I cannot recommend them enough. After a couple of disasterous experiences with another plumbing company we went back to using Go Green Plumbing. They were able to find our issue and replaced our sewer line for us. They were professional and treated our property with care. Previous plumber told us our clogging issues were due to putting eggshells in the garbage disposal When actually there was a huge crack in the line with root intrusion. The crack was very close to where the previous company installed a cleanout. Not sure how they missed it. Go Green quickly diagnosed the issue, cleared the line then came back to replace the line within a couple of days. They worked around our landscaping as much as possible and even planted new grass seed, and laid straw to cover where the trench was dug. Workmen were knowledgeable and friendly. The technician I had months ago did an exceptional job. Phenomenal even. However, today the customer service team needs an overhaul. Their communication with customers is subpar, at best. I scheduled an appointment around 9am. By 4pm I had to call and ask where the technicians were because not one "customer service" or "dispatcher" called to provide an update until after I called them. All they can do is say they understand, and couldn't even guarantee they could have me a technician the next day. As a customer I would like to think their service would be better. Not to mention HVAC is not cheap, so this is certainly not a "get what you pay for" quality review. At least offer compensation for your failure to deliver. read more

First off, as with most services like this - plumbing, electrical, repairs of pretty much anything - the prices have gone through the roof. Go Green is not cheap and it's not entirely their fault as the prices for this kind of thing have risen across the board, but I've found being a larger company tends to lead to larger prices. I don't love the way they do scheduling: you essentially ask for a day and the service person will come out at any time during that day. But I do understand why they have to do it this way as jobs can take a totally unknown amount of time. One big thing I do want to say is that the person they sent out, Andrew Duncan, was phenomenal. He was clearly an expert, knew what he was talking about, gave me a ton of options and explained everything. He diagnosed our issue quickly. He was an absolute 5 star service provider. read more

Sadly there is not an option for zero stars otherwise that is what I have given this business. Beware everyone this is the most ridiculously and unreasonably expensive company. Who charges 350 dollars to unscrew a garbage disposal ( only one bottom screw) remove a small stuck spoon in the disposal and then replace the screw back. Fifteen minutes in all was taken by the technician to do the above. No new parts were added. Even the doctors and lawyers in today's world do not charge like that. The front desk at the time of appointment should have told me that the minimum to fix a disposal would be 350. In that case it was up to the owner to decide to call them for the service or not. On a different note this company is looking for future projects when they send their technician. The technician was called to fix the disposal but upon arrival he asked to walk through all the bathrooms (4 in all), attic to see the water heater. In other words he walked through my whole house to check on all the plumbing. He then gives us the lists of everything that is at fault and needs to be fixed. This was all done before he started the work on The One job ( the garbage disposal) that he was called for. Did we ask for that???? No. Did the front desk told us such would be the case ??? No. I was certainly not prepared for someone to ask me on the spot to walk through my whole house. Then why???? Did the front desk tell us that the minimum to fix the garbage disposal would be 350???? No. Then why??? Installed too large of a unit creating humidity issues upstairs in our home. They will reply they "sent someone out not once but 4 times" and that our home is 100 years old and needed new duct work, blah blah blah...they are also blaming the humidity on the toilet water and sink traps, which is insane considering the original unit handled the humidity perfectly without the need of an additional purchase of a dehumidifier we have to use during the summer months. Which they tried to UPSALE us with a dehumidifier installed in the attic next to their system in our attic!!! The duct work was never mentioned until the oversized and overpriced new unit was installed. The irony is we had 2 other HVAC companies come and assess the issue and both advised us "the unit they installed is too large for the area"! Secondly we have 2 units for our home. The downstairs unit doesn't display on the thermostat high humidity, only the unit for upstairs. Which brings me to another point, the second visit to our home they wanted to sell us another thermostat saying the reading was incorrect on the one we had. 3rd visit was they wanted to cut another hole in our ceiling for the return. Now they are blaming the high humidity on our current duct work plus the toilet water. All of it is insane. We spent THOUSANDS of dollars expecting them to know what they were doing and not gaslight us on our Google reviews. I will never recommend Go Green ever!! Make it make sense the issue is only with THE OVERSIZED unit and not the one downstairs. And Blaire, or whoever responds to this review, save your time, your empty excuses and condescending response does nothing but fuel my desire to tell as many people as possible about the substandard customer service, obvious exploitation and incompetence of the supposed "experts". read more

Called them to install a hardwired EVSE in the garage. I had already purchased the equipment, just need wiring done from the circuit breaker to where I wanted the charger to be on the wall (about 4 feet straight across). The electrician arrived early in the morning, stepped into my garage, and immediately told me that the job will cost $1,500. Then proceeded to inform me about a Duke Energy rebate, which I never got from Duke Energy for a different rebate for the new HVAC Go Green Plumbing installed back in 2021. Anyway, after he took pictures of my circuit breaker panel, he left and came back with his recommendation of three price points, each more expensive than the previous. He got everything wrong, such as quoting me for a 240v outlet instead. I pointed that out and he told me that they don't have a 60 amp circuit breaker on hand and proceeded to tell me a 50 amp cb is just as fine for an outlet (the safest max). Uh, no. Not for me it isn't. I want 48 amps for a hardwire, which requires a 60 amp cb. That and the expensive cost to do the work was all needed to turn him away and go with someone else at a third of their price. All in all, he wasn't rude. Probably just tired and in need of a second cup of coffee. I have used this company before in the past, but I have found better elsewhere since for plumbing, HVAC, and now electrical work. read more

Can't judge the quality of their work since they never bothered showing up. they wouldn't give a time they would show up and then at the end of the day called to say they could 'reschedule" for late in the week. If they knew they couldn't make it they could have NOT wasted my time and told me that in the morning. My mom's thermostat went out but it was room temp air coming out of the vents. She thought she was calling Lawrence Heating and Air but she accidentally called GoGreen. She's 70+ years old. She didn't realize she called them until they pulled in the driveway. Dude said the blocked was cracked or something like that and she needed a new unit mind you that he didn't look at the thermostat before coming to that conclusion. Dude came in and talked with her and her husband for about 2 hours then went around to count the number of vents throughout the house. Then we go outside to look at the breaker box and he said he was going to go under the house and check everything out and he said these things aren't cheap and if we was going to pay $12,000 for this he wanted to do everything right and I was thinking that sounds pretty good and professional. He's like 6'4 300 lbs easy. He got about half his body in the crawlspace and that was it. He came back and and stayed another 2-3 hours on there talking to my mom and her husband, he's 74+. When he left after dark they came and told me that the final price would be $18,000!!! That's a little jump from $13k. He said needed a new unit and new duct work( because she had 6inch ducts and she needed 8 or 10 inch ducts, mind you that all the vents worked like they should except the one in the picture below bc it fell down into the crawlspace but he convinced her that she definitely needed bigger ducts so she agreed to it. Different people came and and installed the unit and didt it quickly and they came up and said that we have some liquids under the house and they couldn't do the work like that. They put her in contact with there sister company and hell almost 7 days or so later these young guys came and charged them $2,000 more to clean up under the house. They was here less than an hour. They put like 2 bags of absorve or something in it and they rolled out. She went out and asked them about the thermostat and they could care less about that and he said that she needed to ask HVAC that question, which is understandable, but that tells you about how much she knows about all this. They left and she called Gogreen to tell them that they was finished and they asked her name address and like a code or something and they had no idea what she was talking about. Had no idea who she was so they connected her back to the guys that cleaned the stuff up lol.. shitshow.. They said they would let them know they was finished. Gogreen came out a few days later (almost 3 weeks passed since they came out the first time) and put new ducts in and use most of the old stuff like the vent covers and the parts that go up into the floor. She had to worry the hell outta them for a new thermostat bc they other one was the problem at first until he realized it was a "cracked block" which in highly suspect about now, So that's where's she's at now. The same old ass, dusty ass vents and vent covers and one room still doesn't have a vent at all. You would think for $20,000 you would get the newest nicest unit they have for a house and have everything would be perfect right??? Anyway they did agree to that outrageous, astronomical price but ALWAYS, ALWAYS get a second opinion and check behind them every step of the way if you dare to press your luck with GOGREEN. read more

Our A/C unit was limping along (but somewhat cool) on a Thursday. The scheduler for Go Green came in that Thursday and scheduled an A/C replacement to start the next day. Even though this was a day and a half job and they don't work on Saturdays. The crew showed up over a hour late, worked all day then left at 5. They left the switch for the power off. This breaker also covered the fridge in the kitchen, had a family not opened the fridge for a drink we would not have known for awhile and food would have been ruined. They left 2 free standing A/C units and they left. The units were not set up nor would they work in this house. We have been without A/C all weekend the last weekend in June 2025 (heat wave). There were times it was cooler outside than in our house. we have used then in the past and were happy concerning those jobs but they dropped the ball on this one! PS: The service people came out Monday morning. They were great and completed the job and made sure we understood the control panel of the new unit. No one likes to arise from their slumber on any given morning, and the first thing they hear is their partner telling them there is no hot water. I had that unfortunate situation yesterday, and only know a few basic things about water heaters. I went to look at ours and noticed the pilot light was out, which is something I CAN do something about, so I attempted to re-light it. Instead of a burning pilot, I was greeted with a flashing light based error code that was 100% above my pay grade. I went to the Yelp App and fired up their request a quote tool, which I love. You can answer some simple questions, and your inquiry will go out to a group of highly rated local businesses that can help. They get back to you through the Yelp app, and make it easy to schedule. Very handy! Go Green was the first to respond, and they were able to fit me into their afternoon schedule. Their standard service call rate was very fair and I was happy to get someone to look at it soon. Mark B made it to my house that day by 4pm. Now I worked in the IT repair field for many years, and so many times have seen the frustration as a person hands me their computer and I do the exact same things they did, and for me it works. I got a taste of my own medicine, as Mark lit the pilot on the first try and no error message was given. What caused the pilot to go out, or why I got the error, a mystery to us both. He could have simply been on his way then, but he stayed to make sure the pilot stayed lit and the water got back up to temp. With that time, he inspected the water heater educating me on typical service life and what a new unit would cost if I wanted to consider replacement. He also inspected my water pressure, house shut off valve, pressure valve (requiring a crawl space trip) and made some recommendations that I might consider for the future. So instead of feeling dumb for paying a service fee on a 5 minute fix, I learned a lot of things I needed to know about my relatively new home, and found a quality company to work with in the meantime. They recognize that this level of service, while just a small amount today, could pay off for them in the long run, and I appreciate that. Thanks a bunch Go Green! read more

I have been a client and member for years and had some maintenance done on my HVAC unit and less then an hour after they left I noticed my AC wasn't working anymore. I called and they were going to send someone then stated no one would be available until around 11pm that night we decided to have someone come in the morning. The following morning I had received an update on when someone would be coming and I called back and asked to speak to a manager. When the manager called and I explained the situation and how poorly it was handled he then tried to gaslight me that the reason the AC wasn't working was because I didn't go with the more expensive recommendations of replacing the unit. I told him it was very interesting that the unit was work fine until the "maintenance" was performed. The technician from the previous day came back and the problem was that he didn't plug the unit back properly even though the invoice stated they checked that it was working before he left. It was been weeks now no problem with the unit and no apology from management. This was very upsetting since I had never had such a bad experience on a service I pay monthly for. I had recommended them to a few people looking for a new HVAC company and had to update them that they should keep looking as GoGreen service has declined. read more

As an update: After calling to discuss my concerns and BBB complaint, the manager and a technician returned to the house at no charge and made a good faith effort to clear the kitchen clog using a mini jet. Unfortunately, that didn't clear the clog and they couldn't move the jet further in the cast iron pipe that is past its expected service life. They are sending a senior technician to evaluate the system and review options with me in the coming week. I appreciate their efforts and the extra measure of customer service, so I am revising my original review below. ----------- The technician barely glanced at the clogged sink, never even touching it other than to open the cabinet underneath and take a momentary glance at the pipes from a standing position before recommending replacement of the kitchen waste pipe that would involve ripping open the finished basement drywall ceiling and real wood paneled walls on the off chance (and with no evidence) that the drain pipe was deteriorating. The other option he offered was to use a 'machine' (really just a standard 25' drain snake) for $400, a ridiculous price, and with no guarantee. Such an option with a 50 foot snake would be rather standard solution for a much lower price, but he seemed to think me clueless. He also tried to tell me my house was built 40 years earlier, as if I wouldn't be aware of the age of my own house. I felt he was condescending to me because I am a woman. It was a complete waste of my time and the $73 dispatch fee. All told, the whole superficial farce took about 15 minutes, including processing my credit card! read more

WARNING - Go Green came for ONE leak, hard sold me on an entire inspection of all my plumbing, and got me to pay for a bunch of expensive upgrades, with a bill of $5600, and at the end of the day said, "We're sorry, we made a mistake and did the inspection with the water off and missed a few things." They tried to get more money to fix them, but they already had it all so they just left a bucket under my sink and a bunch of other issues which I most definitely would have opted for over those expensive upgrades if I'd known about them, including a toilet with a huge leak they missed during their negligent "inspection". I did sign off saying they'd showed me the new problems, but what was I to do? I was exhausted and wanted them gone. I can't attach a video here but there is a short VIDEO of some of their $1700+ in upgrades to my sink that now leaks terribly because they missed the need for a basket while they decided I needed those expensive upgrades WITHOUT EVEN RUNNING THE WATER. The vid is available for viewing on the Rotten apples of the Triad page and I think there is a Google Drive link to it on next-door on my review for them. The gray bucket photo here is the way they left it after pointing out that the basket leaked above their $1700 pipe replacement. To be fair, Go Green DID perform all the work on the invoice. They just ignored the problems I showed them initially, like the sink clogs and the 2nd small leak in my laundry room just weren't addressed at all that is actually a small easy to fix HVAC line that is still leaking. I missed their omissions, but I feel exploited and I'm not the only one. Their rating on BBB is 2.6 / 5. In doing research for WFMY, I saw comments referencing strong-arming regarding ratings. I experienced the same. I was personally (complete with political comments) attacked on FB by the owner's friend Emily Coleman to the point where I had to block her. Most of the catastrophic reviews like mine are elderly or minority or both. DO NOT USE RUN FROM THIS BUSINESS. You will be charged astronomically more for the parts actual retail cost and labor is insanely expensive, they don't honor the schedule they give you and they ARE NOT THOROUGH. I have photos to prove it, and will explain in this review. I called Go Green for my toilet over flow issue which caused a bad flood in my basement. #1. They scheduled me on a Monday and during that day changed the appointment to the Wednesday after, which obviously is an issue had I taken the day off work to be present. But hey these things happen, I'm not too upset but still, you get the point. #2. They diagnosed the problem was my Ejector pump which they severely marked up to replace parts and labor. The part is only $429.23. #3. Remember my original issue was the toilet, well they did not even check the toilet to see if that was the malfunction or the cause. I know this because I turned the water off to the toilet prior but it was still off after their "repair" and that let me know they didn't check the toilet. After I turned the water back on and checked inside the tank lid, found that the flapper was corroded to the point it wasn't functioning normally. A flapper is only about $6. But the repair man told me after the pump replacement, that he checked everything and that it was all ready to go and working. That was a lie. #4. When I called them to remedy the toilet issue once again, was scheduled on a Tuesday but during the appointment day ( Wednesday) again, moved me to the next morning. Thank God I work from home and didn't need to take time off for a FOURTH TIME. #5. On the newly scheduled day my only visible issue was this flapper, simple fix right? Well I had turned the water off again and they checked the toilet thoroughly this time and told me that the shut off valve was bad and that the water will not stop running into the tank and needed to be rebuilt or replace the toilet. Wait a minute, hold on, the water valve was NEVER an issue prior. It had been turned on and off without consequence at least twice since the overflow, but now suddenly its faulty and needs to be replaced guess how much this is going to cost. LET'S SAY ITS ABOUT WHAT A BRAND NEW ITALIAN SPORTS CAR COST PER MONTH BUT FOR A TOILET!!!!! (AT LOWE'S $229 ) AND A VALVE ($9.98.) A WAX RING ( $7 ) AND A WATER LINE ($7.23). THATS $253.21 IN PARTS. THEY THINK WERE STUPID AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOMERS WITH RIDICULOUS MARK UPS. #6.When I contacted for resolution, basically it was "Kick Rocks sir" we won't do a thing different except a small discount on what must be a highly complex and high tech Toilet tank rebuild, which is just replacing the tank valve, fill valve, flapper and such which cost $27.98 in parts at Lowes Hardware. Another insanely high markup on a 30 min job. DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR, SHOP AROUND OR DO IT YOURSELF BECAUSE THEY WILL POLITELY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND IF THEY CAUSE A NEW ISSUE, IT WILL NOT BE HANDLED. One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Plumbing technician overtightened a seal on a water filter, causing a leak under our house in the crawlspace, and left without saying anything. We noticed the leak and turned off water to the house to prevent further damage. Called their "24/7 emergency line" which rang and rang and then went to voicemail. Used the online chat featured and explained that because of their technician, we have no water and a leak under the house - they said they would escalate the concern. Didn't hear a word from them for TWO DAYS. The leak was bad enough but their complete disregard for the situation caused by their technician is unforgiveable. Not the quality service I was expecting for the price they charge. Years ago I got a new water heater installed by this company. While the install technician looked professional there was a lot of amateur mistakes made like messes on the floor, the circuit breaker being left off after he left, and not testing it completely. The way I found the circuit breaker turned off was noticing no hot water for a few days. When I flipped it and finally got hot water it blew a fuse a few hours later. I called to complain and they sent a technician to check the previous installers work which fixed the problem. Fast forward to a few years later when my family goes to sell our house. We find out the water heater was improperly installed through a professional inspection. The pressure relief valve was a one foot pipe into a bucket that would have flooded the closet. So we had to pay to drill through our flooring to have a proper area for it to release if there were any problems. Definitely had a lot of issues doing business with this company I would not recommend. read more

Bad experience. I made a request for service on Yelp. Had three reply's. Go Green waived it's service fee so I cancelled another appointment(smart way to get rid of the competition) then they cancelled on me saying that they would come after hours for an additional $169.00 after stringing us along all day with texts. Didn't have an option but to reschedule for the next day. Tech quoted me $2000- $2500 for 5lbs of 410a and to redo a few flare connections. They had prior knowledge of what needed to be done and the tech came unprepared. So, Even if I was willing to pay the unrealistic quote he was not prepared to do the work. Wasted two days. The unit was a mini split that cost $900 new and comes fully charged. They wanted $2500. Wow just Wow They misdiagnosed the problem as well. It was just a loose nut at the flare connection. $2500 to tighten a nut and $150 in coolant. read more

He patiently and thoroughly explained every step of the process and came during the job to make sure everything was being done to the highest standards. Their installation technicians Preston and Devin worked tirelessly and really put their heart and soul into their work. They are so professional and thorough in all that they do. They even cleaned up areas that they noticed needed it that was beyond the original job scope just because their work ethics are so good and that's just how they roll. ;-) What a blessing they were to me. We had an estimator come out to quote us and when he called back we told him we wanted a quote for a different kind of system (swapping from a gas furnace to an all electric system). He said he would have the quote for us by the end of the week then it was towards the end of the week after that we heard from go green again. The original guy that came out to do the estimate must have passed us on to another colleague because we never heard from the original guy. They gave us the quotes and we asked about higher seer ratings (for tax credits) they said they wouldn't have any in stock for another month so they would call us in a month. A month later they called before the scheduled time and never returned our call when we called back. We called another company and had our HVAC system and hot water heater replaced within a week of contacting them. We still haven't heard from go-green. I hate to give this company a low rating because the plumbing work we had done was a very positive experience. read more

I was only semi prepared for the cost as they let me know on the phone just to come out on the weekend would be $189.00. The technician, Gino, was friendly and thorough and I could tell he really cared and wanted to do a good job. The pluses : We only waited an hour from the initial call until the technician was at our door. They texted us a photo of the technician so we could identify them when they arrived. They fixed our heat. The negatives: the cost for cleaning a flame sensor felt high. We had asked for a call when they were 10 mins away to get the dog secured in another location and that didn't happen. Ultimately they showed up and got the job done and we are happy to have heat! read more

I'd like to share my experience with this company as I feel it was one of the best experiences i've ever had when having someone enter my home- I encountered an urgent situation: our water pressure completely failed, leaving us with barely any water from any fixture. With a newborn baby at home, this was a critical issue that needed immediate attention. I called multiple companies, but given the late hour, none could provide same-day service. Then I contacted Go Green. Go Green was exceptionally communicative from the start, from the first call with the office staff- to the very end. They had a technician at our home within an hour. The technician was professional, informative, and addressed all my concerns. We discovered that our well pump had failed. The team worked tirelessly into the evening to ensure we had water the next day. We were so pleased we signed up for their monthly membership plan! Go Green has always left our home in better condition than they found it. As a locally owned business, they truly value and respect their customers, investing in their community and building meaningful relationships. Despite a friendly and cordial receptionist, I have to say we will never use these guys again. We had a non emergency plumbing issue. Fair enough. They booked us a week out, even though we were stuck drinking bottled water in the meantime. That was fine. The day of our appt., however, they called to say they had a plumbing emergency and would not be able to keep their appointment. And then, they scheduled us another WEEK out. Wait...What? Seriously? They are supposed to be open 24 hours. As a courtesy and just common business sense, schedule our job for after hours. We said no thanks, called Master Plumbers and their team was out the next day. I have NO idea where all these positive reviews are coming from. This is without a doubt the most unprofessional service we have dealt with in the Triad. read more

Had a clogged drain the kitchen that kept us from using the sink, disposal, and dish washer. Called on Tuesday at 1:35. They didn't think they could make it on Tuesday (they would try), so they put me on the schedule for Wednesday. I got a text at 8:38 a.m. that I was on the schedule. At 2:47, I get a text that they can't come on Wednesday after all (plumbing emergency, which I understand). They put me on the schedule for Thursday. Got a call at 3:43 that they couldn't come Thursday. They wanted to reschedule for next Wednesday (with a maybe) or a definite time on Thursday of 8 a.m. They did offer me $100 which I declined and let them know that I would need to get the work done elsewhere. They might be the best plumbers in Greensboro, but I would be wary if they can't give you a time for the appointment. read more

They begin by making it clear what they're planning to do, which usually starts with an assessment of the issue(s). Once they figure out what needs to be done, they draft up a few options with pricing so you have a choice of which solution makes the most sense for you. I've never felt pressure to go with the most expensive option and the techs have always given me space to decide.
