    I recently purchased an electric vehicle (EV) and was looking to get a home charger installed. Duke…read moreEnergy has an EV charger prep program to get reimbursed for preparing your home or garage with said charger. They will reimburse up to $1,133. After extensively asking Duke all the questions to get this reimbursement, I asked for a list of contractors they have worked with. They gave me a list of 5+ electric companies. Go Green was the 3rd one I called and the only one that answered. Right away, they showed me elevated service. I explained the situation to them and they offered a free consultation to come check out my garage and give me an estimate for the EV charger installation. The very next week, Richie, the technician, came out and met with my husband to check out the space. The first estimate was a little more than what we wanted to spend (with one expensive part being the cost of the surge protector). My husband asked if we could provide the surge protector would Go Green supply the labor for installation. Richie said they could do that and also that he will come up with 5 different customizations of estimates based on different services and promotions. Richie left and within a few hours, the estimates were in my email inbox. I ended up choosing one of the mid-level ones and signed the invoice ocking in the price. Go Green had to order some parts so installation happened a little over 2 weeks later. Richie was the technician for installation too. It took him and his partner a little over 2 hours to install the charger. The city also needed to approve the charger so Richie said Go Green would handle the communication with them so they could come out. I did put in a request with him for a certain day and the city was able to accommodate. Once I received all my documents (the proof of EV registration, my paid invoice, and the approved permit), I applied for Duke's EV charger prep program. I was rejected about a week-ish later for not having an itemized invoice up to their standards. I immediately called Go Green and told them what happened and within the hour, they emailed me a new invoice which I re-submitted to Duke. Two weeks later, Duke emailed me approval for the program and two weeks after that, I received my check in the mail. This is a long review, but I wanted to explain the full process of working with Go Green to get approved for the EV charger prep program. I cannot recommend them enough. They are efficient and professional. I am extremely happy with their work!

    I do not recommend Fire & Ice Heating and Cooling. While they were prompt and pleasant initially,…read moretheir service turned into a costly and frustrating ordeal. My AC stopped cooling last weekend, and Fire & Ice was the first to respond. They charged two separate diagnostic fees in two days and overcharged for ineffective repairs. Day 1: The tech did some diagnostic work, blamed the blower motor. Day 2: I had the blower motor replaced which I paid a premium to have done --only for the tech to leave without verifying if the unit was cooling (it wasn't). It ran in a red flag state for another day. Day 3: same tech AND the boss spent ages troubleshooting before suggesting a $700 coil cleaning (coil inspection should have been done day 1) --with no guarantee it would fix the issue. They charged me a second diagnostic fee, and after I had the coils cleaned, the AC still didn't work. After 5 days with no AC and no response to my email requesting a refund for the second diagnostic fee and a correct diagnosis be done, I called another company. Their tech found the real issue (a failed compressor) in 15 minutes--something Fire & Ice should have checked immediately. Either they misdiagnosed repeatedly or intentionally padded the bill. I've spent thousands on unnecessary repairs and fees--enough to have replaced the compressor outright. Now I'm stuck with a broken AC and a company that won't even respond. A high price and friendly tech doesn't mean quality service. Get a second opinion before trusting them with your HVAC system.

    Where do I even begin?…read more My first interaction with this company was actually pleasant. Promising, even. Spoiler: it did not stay that way. Call #1: My propane logs wouldn't turn off. Ice storm coming. I panicked. Joe showed up that evening, pointed out the knob inside the fireplace (since the remote switch box had likely died), and I happily paid the $125 service fee. No complaints. This visit isn't even part of the real problem. Five days later: I come home to a thermostat reading 57 despite being set to 70. I call Joe again. He shows up the next morning, finds exploded batteries in the thermostat, replaces them, and says it might need replacing eventually. I pay another $125. Still fine. He even signs me up for the semi-annual maintenance plan. Great! Future business! Everyone wins, right?...Right? Two days later: Thermostat drops to 65. I go buy a new one at Lowe's and call Joe back. He installs it, but when we try to register it, we get an error. "Already registered to another owner". Honeywell is closed. Joe removes the new thermostat, reinstalls the old one, tells me to call Honeywell, and I pay yet another $125. Annoying, but whatever. I finally reached Honeywell later in the day and they inform me that registration only matters for app control, the installer could've fully installed it. I could've cleared the previous owner later. "The technician should have known that," they said. Okay. Honest mistake...maybe. Two days later: Joe comes back to finally install the thermostat correctly. It works. I pay another service fee, but this time he gives me a "discount" and only charges me $62.50. This is visit #3 for the same issue, but sure. I pay it, despite being told that he should have known that he could have installed the thermostat initially. I digress... Three days later: My heat is reading 68 while set to 70. Again. Joe comes back. This time, FINALLY, he crawls under the house and discovers the actual problem: a bad wire. The unit is 5 years old and 100% under warranty. He says he'll "only charge me the service call fee," like he's doing me a favor. At this point, I push back. He told me during visit #2 that you only pay one service fee for a single issue until it's diagnosed--then you pay for parts. Well, we're now at FOUR service fees for the same problem, and he never once went under the house until now. I ask him why I should pay anything when it's under warranty--and more importantly, why he didn't check the wiring in the first place? He gets furious. Tells me he'd have charged someone else $300+, and filing a warranty claim is "too much paperwork" for a "simple fix." Then he tells me, and I quote: "never call me again for anything." WOWZA! Gladly. I told him I promise I will never, EVER call Joe at Fire and Ice again. And honestly, unless you enjoy paying 4-5 service fees for someone to repeatedly NOT diagnose the problem, you might want to take my advice. Maybe this is their business model? Hard to say. But I won't be finding out. Oh, and Joe? Remove me from the semi-annual maintenance list. Thanks.

Management has been responsive when I contacted them with concerns. It because of this that I continue to be a customer of Berico and recommend them to others who might be facing the same choice I made a year ago.

    Date: 06/22/2026 1…read morestar BERICO Used "Get a Quote" from BBB on 6/9/26 request was sent via BBB. Never heard back from Berico so I called on 6/12/26, s/w REMOVEDfor a quote & advised I'd requested via BBB but she had no clue, but to come out 6/12 $165 (considered after hrs.) but to schedule for 6/15/26 it would be $95,so I scheduled it for 6/15. Tech REMOVEDcame out & was very helpful explaining what could be the issue. Initially he said the fuse in the furnace had blown (reason thermostats were not connecting to outside unit) which he checked later. He went back to the furnace & spoke with someone, I'm assuming was his Mgr. REMOVED, then came back to tell me that the entire Zone Board aka REMOVEDneeded to be replaced cost $799! Same day Not Stock Carrier Fee $75.33 for him to go get would take 45 minutes, he was back in less than 15. I verbally agreed what do I know, but when he left I looked up the cost & found that the part was actually between $100-$200. So when he returned I asked him to provide a receipt he finally said $133 but never provided a receipt. At that point I wanted to know WHY the cost was $799 to replace! He said upcharge fees plus $85 per hr. labor to replace in his words in a few minutes. I told him to wait that I wanted to call the office 1st because something was off & I felt I was definitely being OVERCHARGED!I kept calling 3 times, being put on hold and then disconnected! A young lady finally answered & I asked for the Mgr., she said let me get REMOVED, then came back & said he'd left the office. I asked REMOVEDto call but he didn't. At this point I REFUSED to have it replaced. Please also note that the REMOVEDEVALUATION CHECKLIST was showing the Inspected REMOVEDchecked in GREEN as PASS!? He also had the Dispatch fee @ $99 instead of the $95 I was quoted. He said REMOVEDwas new. He then balled up & kept the initial fees totaling $1,039.24 - new Inv. Quoted fee of $95 & charge for Carrier Trip $75.33 = $181.82. Ran out of space to complete! Berico Date: 06/24/2026 Thank you so much for your review. Though we understand your feelings, we hope the following explanation will better explain the cost structure of repairs. Our technicians use what is called flat rate pricing, which allows all of our technicians to bill the same for each repair no matter which technician is performing the work. The benefit to the customer is they are always quoted before the repair begins (as in your case), and there is no penalty for how long a repair takes as different technicians take longer than others on certain tasks. Additionally, all customers are treated the same with the same quote for a specific repair. With that said, the system is not always perfect in each application and we are always glad to look at individual situations to see if there is room for savings (as REMOVEDhas offered in your case). We do want to share that despite the cost of a part, the company incurs a significant amount of other costs behind every repair. Examples of these costs would be labor expense, vehicle expense, insurance, training time, travel time, shipping, fuel expense, administrative and office expense, among much more. Unfortunately the costs in our industry have risen over 50% in some cases since the 2021 time frame and we too struggle to comprehend it. As far is the inspection sheet showing green initially, this is a chain-reaction related repair. For example, the technician initially considered the fuse to be the issue, but upon ruling this out identified the zone board. We apologize for this confusion but the zone board was unknown to be wrong until we ruled out the fuse. We would love to work toward regaining your trust and look forward to speaking with you further. We have been in business a long time and always appreciate the opportunity to make things right again.
