Our home was built in 1904 with many old plumbing updates. Service was for a leaky hose bib that was not installed properly or to code 4-5 years ago by another service and an old toilet (pull-chain) broken shutoff valve. Jackson was fine, he arrived promptly, completed the work that I needed, and seemed knowledgeable. However, I am a bit put off by the new phone communication system the company uses now. Previously, the techs called with a cellphone and I (and I assume all other customers) could contact the tech coming out directly. Now a cumbersome and time-consuming system is in place, and the customer has to go through all the button pushing to talk to customer service in Charlotte, relay all the info in question to a different person every time if more than a single question needs answering. Had a desire to get furnace serviced and looked over, heard their advertisements on the radio. Call them I did. Tech serviced furnace and did not replace the filter or even tell me there was no filter. He pulled the original screen out (that at least provided some filtration) and tossed it on the ground in my crawlspace. He came out from under the house and told me that there was an issue with the heating element, it had a little backdraft but he could not find a leak. Told me the furnace will need replaced and offered a quote. I told him not to bother with the quote at the moment because I was gonna drive it to the wheels fell off come after all. It might last me another five years. He said it might last me another five seconds... Sure, enough, I didn't need the furnace for a couple days, but when I went to turn it on, it didn't work. And it was really cold out. That was rather strange, but who knows. I called the company back. They sent a different fellow who found the issue, a fuse was blown. He also let me know if there was no filter in there and that the size I needed was the specific size he gave me, so I was able to buy filters to put them in. Whole thing seemed a little funny, no fuse issues before the one tech came in, and then he's really pushing me to replace the furnace that it might only last five seconds not sure enough if there's a blown fuse when he leaves. Other guy comes in, finds it, not had any issues since. I know these guys are paid on commission, so it has me wondering... Anyway, the second guy was fantastic, honest, great dude and just easy to talk with. I called the office to talk to a manager so that I could sing the praises of the second guy, but I also wanted to let them know my thoughts on the first guy that came out. The manager didn't call me back, he told the second guy to call me because there was a problem with with what he did when he came out, which is not at all with what I wanted to talk about. Anyway, the second guy calls me concerned that there was something wrong that I was upset with him or he did something wrong, I told him no not at all, I actually wanted to talk to your supervisor about you and how impressed I was with you, but I also want to talk about the previous guy that isn't in the same league as you are. It's just a weird leadership choice, really lacking in customer service and employee care. I also had an electrician come out and look at something, he gave me a quote to do a bunch of work. I've had it quoted with two other companies and it's less than half the price that he was given me, keep in mind that these guys are paid on commission. read more

After resetting the system and spending a night in a cold house, I searched around with dim hopes of finding a company with Black Friday availability. Thankfully, Michael & Son was able to send someone on short notice. Booking through their website was easy, and they did a good job of communicating when their technician would be arriving. Said technician, Noe Ansaldo, was polite, professional, and fast. He got our heat working in only a few minutes and stuck around to make sure that it stayed on and functioned properly. Admittedly, Michael & Son runs higher than others for a service call (total came out to $95), but on a day with a high in the low 40s, that still proved to be money well spent. I googled AC companies, they come up and I called. I set it up for an AC Tune Up and to get a quote on a mini split system for my upstairs. We scheduled for 5/22, a Friday. They never showed up. We just received some garbled texts about they would be arriving 12-2 when we had scheduled 10-12. The following week, Monday, 5/25, we start getting texts that the technician is on their way. We never scheduled it, I called their office and said we were unavailable that week but would be available June 5th. We scheduled it for then. Sounds great? On 5.28, we get texts that the technician will be arriving on 5/29. Of course, I call the office AGAIN to let them know that we aren't there, that we had scheduled for June 5th and had texts confirming our date. The amount of time I wasted texting their technicians, calling their offices and dealing with their general ineptitude meant I am going in a new direction. Absolutely frustrating to deal with. They were not worth my time or effort. I'm going with Go Green since they actually seem to have their shit together. read more

Fantastic experience all around. Our home was built with a boiler, so when it went out, we needed the works: HVAC, water heater, and the electrical upgrade to support it. Michael & Son speedily arranged the job, communicating clearly throughout the entire process, with quick responses to any questions I had. Beyond that, they got the work done in a timely fashion in spite of multiple unprecedented snowstorms. While I'm used to working with general contractors for my work of this scale, I have no complaints about Michael & Son handled this. Further, their employees are outstanding--friendly, approachable, and their work is high caliber. I'd especially like to compliment their electrician Dillon Muratovic, with whom I had the most interaction along the way. He is a fantastic electrician with a diligent work ethic and a very warm demeanor. I called since I had a specific date and time needed. They sent text updates including estimated time of arrival. Prophet arrived on time and was very easy to work with. He asked about our project, completed a walk through to verify what went wanted done, and then provided a quote. He worked efficiently and was considerate of the fact I was on a work call. Poor customer from technician Chris. Spent 5K with this company and still ended up with leaky toilet. Canceled the 3rd appointment and called another plumbing service. The technician actually unplugged my furnace, which caused a service appointment for hvac. He used the outlet although there were multiple outlets in garage. I was on vacation and my 83 year old mom was stuck without the ability to control AC. My hvac guy found it unplugged. I would not recommend this company read more

So we're now looking into a warranty plan through Duke Energy that's very affordable and could save us quite a large repair or replacement bill. The service was 5 star - the price was 2-3 star (wayyyy more expensive than I anticipated, but I was desperate). Brandon was the electrician who replaced the GCFI so my garage door would open and other exterior outlets would function. (I had my house powerwashed and water got into them.) He also replaced 4 exterior patio/porch lights for me. He was super professional, friendly, informative and efficient. I would definitely hire him again. I felt confident in his work and that he was treating me like he would a family member. Not too happy at all. Plumber came out and price gouged our landlord. Says the pipe from road to house needs replacing just from looking at it. Then came into house to check on non functioning toilet and let water run all over. Did get it to work but now it runs and runs and runs. IF I COULD RATE THEM 0 stars I would! This company was the absolute worst!! They sent the same so called plumber out TWICE and he still couldn't complete the job! What kind of plumber does not access the house for backups before he starts work to resolve any issue. I needed my main drain line unclogged and then a camera to check the drain line.. the first time he came out the he Isai did not have a clue he cleared the drain line and that was it no camera was even offered but I was charged over $700 for a service that he did not compete! I had to call back 4 times to get somebody to schedule to come back out with the camera. Guess what ? They send the same clueless person back out. This time he says"oh our camera is broken"!! So yal only one camera in the entire company or you don't know how to use it?? I've been calling back for weeks no return call they said the owner was supposed to call. Nothing !! The customer service team is clueless they always say I have to route this to another department but can't tell you what department that is .. Its been. Over a month and no return call and our drain pipe is still not fixed! But they got the money so now no one is calling me back about service would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.. and they always ask do you have any electrical or HVAC needs..NO BECAUSE YOU DIDNT RESOLVE MY PLUMBING NEEDS!
