I met Hannah Kersten many months ago. She was a Tops customer and I have a second job there working mostly as a manager. I've been looking for a new hair stylist. I was finally able to get in to see her today. (I had to reschedule and then she had to reschedule.) i wanted blonde highlights and she did such a great job with my hair. The price was right too! Whatever was on my head first, bothered my ode a bit. Hannah mixed honey and butter coloring. The highlights look great and she made my hair look wavy and cute with her pink flatiron. She said my hair was still healthy so I decided not to get a cut today. Next time I'll get highlights and a cut. The bathrooms are nice here. The salon is well lit. They have a downstairs for their non-hair services. The receptionists were super nice and the salon is very clean. I'm happy with the work Hannah did today and I can't wait to return. read more

I booked Cielo for my bridal hair and makeup, as well as for a mani/pedi party and I couldn't be happier! The mani/pedis turned out great and it was so fun! Cielo had a great spread of snacks while everyone hung out and got their nails done as well. All the stylists were fantastic and were able to do exactly what each of my bridesmaids, my mom, and I wanted even though we all had different styles in mind. Their salon is gorgeous, and everyone is so friendly. The hair and makeup turned out great and lasted all day! So frustrating. I physically went into the salon showed them my hair and asked for an approximate charge for a cut and highlights, I was told it'd be around $150. Much to my surprise when I cashed out it was $300.!For someone living on a budget this is a big deal, that's why I made the effort to go in and ask before I scheduled the appointment. I needed a salon in the area for my wedding at Emery Park. I randomly chose this one in mid-April for my wedding on May 20th. They fit me in for a trial hairdo on the same day of my dress fitting since I was coming from out of town and only had that weekend to do everything. The trial was beautiful and I received many compliments that day. It was also great to be able to see my hairdo with my dress to make sure I liked the look together. They also fit in my bridal party for the wedding day as well. Again, all last minute planning. The day of, they really were amazing. I got there early and they put me in the chair right away. My hair was even more beautiful that day. My entire bridal party was happy with their hairdos also. That same day we all decided we wanted makeup done there also. Very disappointed. Called for an appointment with Sarah and waited over a month. I had to drive 40 min to get to the salon when I was looking for the number to let them know that I was going to be a minute late I realized my appointment was at 1:15 not 1:30. When I called to explained they told me they cannot take me anymore and I need to rescheduled. I couldn't believe that I waited for over a month, wasted half a day request at my job and drove for over an hour because I was late for 10-15 min. I feel there was no consideration and also they didn't even care they were loosing a customer. I went to the salon for professionalism and was greatly disappointed! I had one request DON'T show my whole ear. A half hour conversation of what I feared the MOST! My whole ear showing! I walked out in tears for the girl has my entire pointed and sticking out for me (don't care about anyone's opinion!) to live with for 6 months to a year!!! My hair grows a half inch a year with nutrition to grow it! I starred at the hair under her station with the dust covered box as the look on her face was I will get this b***h! I was the first patron of the day so no excuse. Then there were the spots on All mirrors throughout! I had hair dye running down my neck and tips of ears stained. I have never been to a supercuts or fantastic sams but I would highly recommend! The $125 for a cut and color was a travesty when I look at MY EARS!!! What hair? JUST EARS!!!!! I was so shocked and hurt I didn't want to hurt the girls feeling and say how she totally screwed me over and now after many comments on how I don't have the ears for this cut I am sooo sorry I tipped $35! I am insulted to have paid to be abused by a young inexperienced sylist. The owner called me a defended the girl however I don't think he will offer her a Q-tip! I am SO disappointed! I wanted to love this place but after breaking 3 nails the day after I just got them done, I cannot leave a good review for Cielo Salon in East Aurora however, the overall atmosphere is fantastic! All of the hair stylists that I observed during my visit were very nice and the customers appeared to be enjoying themselves. Walking in, I thought I'd found a gem of a place so close to my home. I was sorely mistaken. Denise was my nail technician and I was willing to overlook the fact that she had the personality of a cardboard box but after these nails, I'm going to advise you to request anyone other than Denise for nails! When I walked in, I had researched Gel overlay nails which is what I made the appointment for. When I told Denise that I wanted Gel overlays, first, she acted like she didn't know that's what my appointment was for, then she ended up talking me out of gel nails and talking me into silk wrap nails. I like a natural look as I do not like color on my nails and she suggested that silk looks the most natural. "Ok, let's try it," I said. I already had acrylic nails on which I wanted removed with new tips put on (I had filed my acrylics down shorter than I wanted to try and achieve a more natural look). Denise, didn't want to take the old tips off (she said it was "basically pointless") so she proceeded to put the silk wraps on my old tips which were too short. I asked her if she could make them longer without applying new tips and she told me she could. Long story short, all of the extended tips that she free-formed over my old tips have cracked off as the silk material isn't strong enough to act as a nail on it's own (let me just add that I have done nothing but the usual daily things that girls do since leaving the salon so nothing to merit 5 broken tips within 24 hours!). You need the help of the tip or, at least, your own natural nail to keep the silk from cracking off. Had Denise put on new tips, I'd be a VERY happy girl right now as the natural look of the nails is just what I want. Instead, I'm writing a negative review on Yelp for a place that would have otherwise gotten a really good rating from me :( Take it from me, use someone other than Denise as your nail technician at Cielo Salon in East Aurora! My wedding party left the place like they were headed to shoot photos for a magazine. Everyone was perfectly polished and sparkly. The photos were incredible and my makeup and hair withstood hours of exposure to guests and cameras and the elements (rain). I cannot recommend them enough for their patience and talent. My family and friends had nothing but good things to say after we left. Jeanie is a true artist, she did a fantastic job. I tried really hard to like this place and I just keep getting disappointed. I know some really awesome girls that work there and I know some girls that you should never ever book with. I've had three experiences with this place. All with the same girl. Each time she was awful. She didn't do my nails how I wanted them. She didn't do my hair how I wanted it. She cancelled the day of my cousins wedding when she was supposed to do the bridesmaids hair for it because she was hungover from a concert the night before. I get that you make small talk getting your hair done but that's all she wanted to do was gossip and talk smack with me doing my hair where it made me feel uncomfortable. She texted me 20mins before my appointment and pushed it back an hour. When I was already there. My advice is to do your research of who you're booking here. And bring a ton of money because this place is far from cheap. read more

After searching Buffalo for a hair salon that can provide me with bright, fresh highlights and a great hair cut I came across Cielo Salon. It's right next to Vidler's in East Aurora. There's a huge parking lot in the back behind the street if you can't find parking right in front. I would recommend making an appointment, I'm not sure if they allow walk ins. I used to spend literally double the money at another salon in Buffalo for a four hour long highlight appointment. Cielo changed the hair game for me. My appointments are never more than an hour and a half. They get me super blonde and always nail the color. Their haircuts are so nice and their blow outs are gorgeous. The salon itself is really pretty too. I just love it here. The prices are great, SO fair and all of the hair dressers are so nice and turn out consistent great work. Come here. Make the drive to East Aurora. It's worth it! PS my stylists name is Desare! She is the best. I have to say though that everyone you see in the salon leaves with beautiful hair. I wish you could give 0 stars for a place because if there is any place that deserves absolutely no stars, it's definitely Cielo. I went to get my hair and makeup done for prom because I'm not normally one do go get my hair done all the time and thought it would be fun. This was in 2011 and the fact that I still remember this horrible experience shows how much they ruined my prom day.I had called about a week ahead to make an appointment. I had a coupon for a free condition and style from Ooo La La Boutique that I had planned to use for my hair. I explained this to the girl on the phone and read EXACTLY what the card said to her. I asked her if I could use that for my prom hairstyle and she had told me yes, no problem. So I get to my appointment and get in the chair and tell the girl I'm using the coupon, in case they forgot. She told me if I'm doing a prom hairstyle then they shouldn't do the deep condition treatment because it takes a while and hair is easier to style when it's atleast a day old. She never once explained to me that I would have to pay for the style and never gave me a price. The way she explained it sounded like they just would skip the condition, which I was fine with. So she does my hair in this half up half down style that I could've done myself, but seeing as, at the time I still thought it was free, I figured it was ok. It didn't look horrible atleast. So then she goes and gets the makeup which, let me tell you, looked just like she threw all of the makeup she owns into this train case and brought it to work. It was so messy and the brushes were definitely not clean. Before she started the makeup, I had asked her how much it would be. She told me it would only be $25, which is a pretty good deal so I let her continue. Well I deeply regret that to this day. They have the lighting so dark in there that you can't tell how the makeup looks really until you go home and look in better lighting or even just natural lighting. She used a foundation on me that was atleast 8 shades too dark. She never used primer or concealer so it didn't even stay on well and it was already caking before I got home. It was an awful orange color too. She did a black smoky eye on top of that which was not blended at all! I never looked so ridiculous in my life! But of course I didn't notice all this until I was already home because it's too dark in there to see anything properly!Well then I go to the front to pay for my makeup and they inform me that it's $85! I was absolutely shocked. They said that the hair cost $50 and the makeup was $35. I told them I had that coupon for my hair and she said that they didn't do that. I told her what the girl who did my hair said and the girl at the desk said that "A style is only like straightening or blowdrying the hair. You got an updo". I was absolutley furious. I only brought $30 with me because I didn't expect to be paying anywhere near $85. I had to call my mom and have her bring more money and see if she could talk some sense into these people. Well by this time the owner was at the desk to see what was going. Mind you, I never once raised my voice in the slightest or made a scene. I told the owner everything that happened right down to the phone call I had when I booked my appointment. She told me "Well I don't know who you spoke with, but you got an updo which is different than a style". I explained to her that, if anything, I shouldn't have to pay for the hair because they barely did anything with it and by not getting the deep conditioning, I actually saved them money because I didn't use their product. She then offered to call the cops on me because I wouldn't pay for the services I received. I never once said I wasn't going to pay for it. All I said was that I had to call my mom to bring me more money. Once my mom arrived, she spoke with the manager and tried to negotiate a price. The owner said she can't bring the price down at all. If you're the owner of the place and you can't bring the price down, then that pretty much says you have no authority whatsoever and are incompetent of doing you job. My mom then said we only had $74 and she seeemed very reluctant to take it, but she did, probably just to get rid of us. After all this was over I had to get home and rush to fix the disaster that was my "makeup" and put my dress on so I could get to prom in time.A few months later, my dad was in there fixing their phone and he introduced himself to the owner. He was just being a dad and wanted to get her side of the story and find out what happened. Well, she started off being extremely bitchy towards him as soon as she found out who he was and accused me of trying to scam them and not pay for my services and basically yelling at him for no reason. He promtly told her to find someone else to fix their phone and he left. Do NOT go to Cielo if you want an enjoyable beauty experience. read more

Schedule myself for a callus buster pedicure $60, wow don't think I would come back. There was nothing special and I've gotten better pedicures that cost $25. They didn't use anything special for the callus except for an exfoliate which many places use. There was barely a massage and this is the only place where they send you on your merry way without drying your nails. Mine ended up getting ruined two blocks down the road. I asked if they could do an updo for my friend's wedding (I'm a bridesmaid), and Savannah was able to make it look like I have about triple the amount of hair that I do. She did amazing work! She took the idea I brought from Pinterest and made it work for my hair/face. She "freestyled" and came up with the best updo I've ever gotten. Her creativity really shined and I am so grateful! I got reffered to this Salon about a week ago by a girl whose hair I loved. Made an appointment went in and explained to my styalist that the hair style I wanted was in fact a client she's been working on for years thinking the styalist knew what she was doing. Boy was I wrong not only was I there for 5 hours the hilights were uneven one side was skinny the other was chunky. They wont refund your $ or fix your hair and on top of that the owner Donna or Brenda is extreamly rude. I chose Cielo for all my wedding needs and I was SO happy. The manicure didn't hold up well and one of the bridesmaids' updos fell out pretty quick, but everything else was superb! I HIGHLY recommend Jessica for Bridal makeup and CHRISSY for bridal hair. My trial hair fell out pretty quick so I was nervous on wedding day but I showed her pics, explained to her, and she took a lot of time teasing, spraying, and making sure everything was going to hold firm. And I'll tell you, my hair didn't MOVE until the next morning! I was blown away! I have very thin hair and used extensions that I was afraid would weigh my hair down and fall out but Chrissy did everything perfect. I just can't say enough about her skill level and professionalism. She is all about attaining excellence for her clients, she's fun to hang with in the meantime, and her results are perfection! If you're a bride, go nowhere else besides Cielo and ask for Chrissy! Jess was GREAT with my makeup, on a hot summer day I was nervous but it held up great, she did a beautiful job, and she even helped calm my nerves a lot that morning! So I got a highlight done at this salon and it was terrible. First off when she was done putting in the foils my hair was literally a giant rats nest of foils. A professional stylist would keep the foils nice and neat. Then she felt them and panicked because they were warm and started tearing them out. Cool? Then she started randomly applying color to my roots all over my head. It made no sense. When she washed my hair out I practically got a bath not to mention she didn't even rinse all of the shampoo/conditioner out. Then she gave me layers and she literally grabbed a bunch of hair to a 180 degree and chopped it. Didn't blend it mind you. When she was styling me she was sooo rough. She pushed on my head a lot while blow-drying and didn't comb my hair gently. When she straightened my hair she would rip the straightener over my ends. I could hear my hair breaking. She was also taking her nails and scraping down my hair with them asking "do you like it? Do you like it?" No. When you freaking do anything to someone's hair involving bleach you treat their hair like it's gold, bleach is harsh! I walked out with platinum blonde roots (how did that seriously happen!?!) and my hair felt like straw and looked like someone hacked it.
