What a great Mexican place! The place is poorly branded, poorly laid out, with poorly sized restrooms -- all indicators of great Mexican food. I got the chicken fajitas, which were wonderful, but the wife's steak fajitas were just a little bit better. The salsa, the guacamole, all of it was pretty dang good. It's worth mentioning that I had a "Medium" margarita that was only slightly smaller than my 4 year old son and made by a blind bartender (so. Much. Alcohol), but that was okay by me. Worst experience ever. Waited 45 minutes for a table just for every staff member to be a total smart a**. So unprofessional and the food sucked. we're all servers so we normally tip hefty. Something about this place immediately reminds me of an old Mexican restaurant my family used to eat every single weekend back in Orlando. If your used to the chain Mexican restaurants and atmosphere it might not be for you. This is just in your face slapping good Mexican food. Great salsa and chips and food came out fast. Beans and Rice had great flavor and was a good supplement to the rest of the three item combo platter. Service was good and quick. To tell you the truth, I lost the card for the Mexican Restaurant that we went to but this on on the map makes the most amount of sense based on where it's located on the map. It was the closest gluten sensitive food place that we saw. Mexican, unless they are using flour for the tortillas (no good Mexican place would do that, it should always be corn based) it's always a safe bet. We went in on a Sunday evening (about 7:30) and it was comfortably busy- meaning there were no lines and you got in immediately but the seating was about 1/2 full. A lot of places aren't opened on Sunday in this area. It was dark, but I'm going to blame that on the cloudy weather. They had a ton of windows so it would normally be brighter. It's not like we couldn't see what we were eating. It was just a bit dim like super fancy restaurants except this dress was casual. The food was great! It's been a week so I forgot what dishes we decided on but they were totally yummy. The chips and salsa were pretty good too. The desert menu was limited. I was hoping for sopapillas (sp?) but they didn't offer any. They had churros and fried ice cream for the most part. I'm ok with a limited menu when the food is pretty good. I'd rather have fewer options that are done well than a ton of options that are passable. read more

Surprisingly good Mexican food in the Smokey Mountains. Coming from California, we weren't expecting much going into Cielito Lindo, but needed Mexican food. We ordered the molcajete, a taco/enchilada combo plate, a margarita and a Diet Pepsi. First, the service is fast and friendly. Drinks, chips and salsa are served in plentiful portions, are refilled often and very good. The molcajete was fantastic with shrimp, steak, chicken, chorizo, peppers, onions and cheese. This molcajete can easily serve two and is reasonably priced. The combo plate was good and a decent rendition of the classic combo #1. Mouthwatering food! We were here just a day ago and we are already a big fan of this place. The staff is amazing and they give you great suggestions. They have plenty of vegetarian options. The place inside is nominal. Not too small and not too big. They are present right at the heart of Pigeon Forge TN. Their entrance parking is only few spots and can be congested. But drive behind the restaurant and you will see a huge parking space. This restaurant is located with other businesses next to it. They don't require a mask to enter the building nor the staff wear one. Maybe because TN has different rules. However, the food is amazing and you have got to stop there when you are closer to this place. The ambience inside is decent and the seating chairs and tables have all sorts of designs. It is a kid friendly place as well. We had to wait for about an hour to get into this place. They will take reservations ahead as well. They do not have outdoor seating. They do dine in and carryout. What a great experience the server was very attentive considering we were in the back . Our food came out within 10 minutes. The food was rich in flavor and it ended up filing up my urge of hunger and I definitely recommend overall it was memorable and a wonderful meal and visit. After reading other reviews we decided to stop in and try their steak. I got a steak quesadilla and my partner got a fajita quesadilla. The entire meal was really good! The cheese dip was a little thicker and the salsa was just the right amount of spicy! My only complaint was that I ordered a regular steak quesadilla and it came with bell peppers and onions. I would just make sure that if you order a regular quesadilla and don't like bell peppers and onions like I don't, you specify that you don't want them included. I'm from Texas and so I saw all the great reviews and thought this would be a good place to eat. When we tried ordering extra tortillas, they told us to go next door and buy more tortillas. Eventually, they understood we wanted them with the meal but it was ridiculous trying to explain that to the servers. Why would you send someone next door to buy tortillas? They weren't even handmade/authentic either, just tortillas you can buy at the grocery store. Then they forgot our queso (that, I will say was pretty good) and our pico de gallo. Food was amazing taste wise. The setting was a little crowded because they mush have had a car or truck show in town. The service was terrible we tried calling in an order an hour and 45 mins before close and we let the lady know it was going to be big. She kept hanging up on us and putting us on hold for almost 45 mins. So we just drove there where she proceeded to give us attitude because it would take an hour to make our order. We politely told her that we had been the ones calling you for an hour but kept getting hung up on and her face went blank as if she saw a ghost. We placed our order and left to wait for our hour knowing we had to come back in 45 mins so they would close and steal our money. Little did we know the charge at carry out fee, a delivery fee even though we drove there. And a misterios $15.99 fee that the manager explained "was a new fee they just started last week". This place is a must. Absolutely delicious authentic food at prices you cannot beat. They also have a happy hour for those who are interested. You won't regret dining here. We tried the mojacete which is one of their specials. I love these and would definitely recommend it. It's a saucy fajita dish. I went for dinner with my family and had a health scare( unrelated to the restaurant) with my daughter so the first thing I want to highlight is the staff and owner of this restaurant. They are amazing human beings with hearts of GOLD. That aside, the food was also incredible. We had several different dishes between a party of 10 and every single dish was beyond our expectations. I ended up with street style tacos that had steak and chorizo with onion, cilantro, and lime alongside. The steak was delicious. Not fatty at all,very tender and well seasoned with the chorizo, and had a delicious sear. We hadn't eaten lunch at the park that day so my husband was starving and ordered the Burrito Colorado and chicken and beef nachos. He ended up with leftovers it was also large. My husband's food showed up 5 minutes later than ours so the kitchen is definitely not communicating. He had the cheese enchilada and chili relleno. The smoky sauce was not to my liking and the chili relleno batter was mushy. The flan was pretty good. I liked the flavor of the caramel sauce. Best margaritas in town! You will not need a second round ;). Food was great. Order a combo, that's the best deal and your food will be out quickly. Authentic and affordable, be sure to try their tamales. No other restaurant has THESE tamales. Service was fast and friendly. Overall wonderful experience. Make sure to go early in the day as their employees seem overworked and I'm pretty sure they come in the morning and stay all day. They do need servers apparently if anyone is looking for a job! Tried to go eat here earlier tonight and was told they were closing early because they're understaffed. Completely understandable -- and I'm still leaving a 5-star review because this place is awesome! I ended up at an inferior restaurant and was extremely disappointed (El Ranchero Loco).
