We stopped in here after a day of hiking and it was exactly what we needed- quick chips and delicious salsa, affordable prices and flavorful filling food. The family next to us where eating there for the second day in a row! Food came quick and we were happy campers! We would eat here again! The kids meals were super affordable and filling, the cheese nachos filled the plate and my husband and I were able to split the fajitas for one and still had left overs. When you think TN you dont think good ethnic foods...well surely your wrong. We stopped into this unassuming spot. Walking in you knew it was authentic! It was clean, inexpensive and delicious! We started with their complimentary chips and salsa (love that the salsa is in a glass container and they give you small bowls to pour it into so no double dipping and you have your own)! We also ordered their guac which was more creamy than chunky (i prefer chunky). The beef burrito and quesadilla were winners for the kids. Their rice was delicious. I could eat bowls of it! My steak burrito don lupe was kind of let down. Tortilla & steak and nothing else inside...and some cheese sauce on the top. It was good but I am used to my local spot which stuffs them with beans and other goodies...it was good but I was expecting more. The Ms. had their enchillada's which she enjoyed. First we walked in and smelt weed right away. Then they sat us and the table and chairs were dirty. Then we sat in the back with the chairs, then it had food again on the table and chairs and food all over the floor. It was very dirty and the floor was so sticky. Delicious family-owned restaurant I wasn't expecting from the area! The drinks are huge for $2. I ordered the Nachos Texanos and they were extremely good!! Arrived around 511pm. There was no line or wait to be seated. I was seated almost immediately and server arrived within 3 min of being seated. Placed my order of a bottled Corona and fajita taco shrimp. I requested no guacamole when ordering the side items. I received my corona which was semi cold. At 600 I saw my server for the second time which was for another drink. ( I finished my first at 540). At 618 received my dinner which ended up with guacamole on it. It was sent back and looks like they scraped it off. The shrimp was chewy on the taco. The lettuce was not green and crisp. Beans and rice was barely warm. I probably will not return seeing that they was not that busy and I saw my server a total of 4 times. read more

This place is everything you would want when looking for a place to eat. The atmosphere is amazing and very home like. The staff is incredibly nice and nothing but smiles. Not to mention the food is also great the complimentary chips and salsa were very yummy and we got a bowl of queso and it was just as good. My girlfriend and I decided to get the arroz con pollo and were not disappointed. It comes with 4 flour tortillas and the portions are huge. We were checked on quite often by our waitress (Karla) and she was very deserving of a great tip. I would definitely recommend eating here. Really liked this place. They are very efficient and got us to a table quickly and the food was great. I had the Don Quixote and my son had a special burrito. Both were terrific. Mine had shrimp and chicken and steak. The shrimp was de-veined properly and the flavors were terrific. Even the salsa and chips were above average. When we walked in the place was packed. That's a good sign. It's was a Friday at 9:30. They close at 10:30. We waited longer than expected for a hostess but got a seat, maybe the last booth. On the way to our seat we saw pitchers of margaritas. So we ordered the house pitcher. It was tasty. However I'm not sure there was alcohol in them. We ordered white cheese sauce and it was very good. The salsa was tasty but watery. I like a thick salsa as I scoop. The chips were thin and crispy. She ordered two chimichangas with onions, green peppers and loaded with chicken. It included rice and beans. I had the something Jose burrito. Loaded with beef tips and chicken. I had so much meat I ran out of shell! It included rice and beans. Our food came quickly. All employees wore masks. They advised would could stay as long as we wanted. We were seated and handed chips and salsa within the first 5 minutes so we were pretty optimistic about the restaurant. 25 minutes later we still hadn't been served at all. No one asked what we wanted to drink even. The lady that gave us our chips and salsa walked by us 20 times. Hearing the tables next to us (since they were literally 2 feet apart), everyone else was dealing with the same thing. One couple had been waiting on their food for an hour. read more

Great Mexican spot. Was a little disappointed that the salsa had no heat at first, but then realized they have a free salsa bar with some hot sauce options and salsa verde. Added a little hot sauce to their house salsa, plus got some salsa verde, and all was right with the world. A server even came by after we finished our meals bringing us fresh, warm tortilla chips. The steak fajitas were really good; no complaints there. The included guac was fresh and really added a good flavor. We ordered takeout and got back to our cabin to find that they didn't give us one of our entrees--the steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas. We got the salad that went with it, but no fajitas. To make matters worse, they wouldn't answer their phone so we could let them know we were on the way back to pick up what was left out of the order--and the mailbox was full and not taking any messages. This is so disappointing since we gave them a generous 20% tip for takeout and expected that we would get everything we ordered. This was on a Wed night--they can't be that busy! Terrible for take out service! Better make sure you open up your order and check it twice before you leave! They gave us our food when we returned and our tip back--but it cost us an extra 35 minutes of travel time. read more

Pulled pork, shrimp and chicken. This monster is large enough to share with 2 other people. My only complaint about this place is that they only gave me 3 shells to eat this with. Pretty sure they would have given more if I asked but if anything to complain about that is about it. They also said free wifi on the entrance. Tried to connect it was password protected. Only gave 4 out of 5 as they need to fix up the place a bit. Looks run down and needs some TLC. Great job on the food! read more

Interior: Colorful and vibrant chairs and tables adorn the entire restaurant. When going to the bathroom, the lyrics for the song Cielito LIndo, are painted on the wall. Colorful painted Mexican scenes on the walls. The entire restaurant welcomes you to Mexico. Food: Great menu with lots of choices. Chips and salsa to start the experience. Salsa is brought to you in a mini pitcher, but you can also get different salsa and hot sauces , onions, cilantro, from the self serve salsa bar. Among us we had: Cheese enchiladas, chicken burrito, chicken chimichanga, chicken wings, quesadilla, and queso dip. Of course with some rice and beans. The food tasted like authentic Mexican food. It was not bland and even if you felt it was, there were many sauce/salsa choices to create the taste profile you are looking for. Our waiter was friendly. The restaurant is very family friendly. Great friendly and fast service. I got a classic jumbo margarita. Which was just your normal run of the mill margarita but by the end I was definitely enjoying it. It was just big chunks of tomato, avocado, and onion in a pool of lime juice. I also ordered a fajita and it was a small portion in a very large pool of liquid. I came here because of the "good" reviews, but in my honest opinion this place left alot to be desired. As we approached the restaurant, there were a bunch of suspicious guys standing by the door. I know they were there hiding out from the rain, but they were right in front of the door so I had to squeeze myself inside because they showed no signs of moving. Once inside, the restaurant looked very dark. Not alot of lighting. The salsa that was given to us was horrible and very watery. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas which came out with rice and a side of lettuce, tomatoes and guac. Lettuce was brown, not alot of tomatoes and the guac was brown. I'm accustomed of having a side cheese, well you won't get it unless you ask for it. The texture of the cheese was different, not your normal yellow shredded cheese. Needless to say, I didn't touch much of my food. I think the people that come here and give this place a good review are people that don't know what Mexican food taste like. Or maybe don't know the definition of what flavor is. I don't recommend, Chipotle is better than this. read more

It was our first time there, he gave us good recommendations on what to eat, and recommendations on where we could go for activities around the area while we waited to be seated. We decided to stop despite the recent negative reviews. I don't understand those reviews. This place was clean, the food was really delicious and the service was very fast. The chips were good and our dinners, I had the Burrito El Puerto and my husband had the Enchiladas La Bandera, were really tasty. The guacamole was fresh and delicious also. Crumbs all in the booth seats, mixed with sweat of the prior party. Salsa stains and chip crumbs encrusted to the menu. 25 minute wait for a party of 2 on a Monday at 5p. One star for our server - he was kind and got us drinks quickly. In the middle of COVID, I would especially expect better cleanliness. This was a great stop. The kids menu had lots of options and the servings are generous. My husband got the burrito texano and I ordered the enchiladas dona maria.
