We stopped by for my boyfriend's birthday and were not disappointed! We had a party of 6 and were seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The employees were fun and seemed happy to be there. We started out with chips and salsa and of course queso. Everything was fresh so we were off to a good start. I ordered the enchiladas mexicanas and they were delicious! The chicken was cooked and seasoned just right. The sauce had a nice kick to it. The rice and beans were also good and not dry like some places. My boyfriend ordered the pina loka and loved it! He was surprised to find it on the menu as not to many places serve it. He said it was really good and ate every last bite of it. My absolute favorite part is when the employees came and sung happy birthday to my boyfriend and then our waitress smeared whip cream all over his face! It was just perfect. We typically get take-out from this restaurant & the food has been good BUT we are really getting tired of our orders being incorrect, or slighted. On 2/27/24 we phoned in a take-out order. My husband's name is Doug but they almost always spell it on the receipt that we get as DOG. That's exactly how they have started treating us, as if we are a DOG. Maybe it is an inside joke with them; who knows. My husband arrived home (without checking the order before he left the restaurant & that was his 1st mistake) with our order and it was incorrect yet again!! This makes too many time to even count, that our order is incorrect or what seems like a 1/2 or 3/4 portion, or missing the chips, etc... He was so upset, he drove back to the restaurant, which now defeats the purpose of getting take-out because we were in a hurry, and when he explained the mix-up, they barely even acknowledged him, much less be apologetic about their mistake. You would think that not only being apologetic, they would be sympathetic that we had to return to the restaurant, and offer some sort of discount, or additional chips & dip, or even a dessert, but NO. They act as if we are disturbing them, as if we are a nuisance. Sad to say but this time was the last straw for us. They are close to our home and convenient, but being treated like this after spending good money with them, we are done. We do not plan on giving them any more of our business. read more

I told the waitress I could not have flour, and she politely advised me to avoid what I was considering. We opted to share a dinner plate: Pork in a verde sauce with a side of rice and beans. She brought out a basket of warm and crisp tortillas with salsa. My companion ordered a beer which arrived quickly in a tall frosted glass. Our meal arrived in about seven minutes, a large plate of pork dressed in a spicy verde sauce. I'm vacationing in the area and stumbled into Pollo Loco, hoping I could satisfy my craving for some actual fresh food, plus I do really love Mexican. I was not disappointed at all. The drinks come out in mason jars which is a cute touch. The salsa was excellent - thin and smooth just the way I like it, with great flavor and a good kick of heat. I also ordered the cheese dip and that was super tasty. Both the salsa and cheese dip came in large bowls. My husband and I couldn't even quite finish them and we both ate a lot. For my entree I got the Enchiladas Mexicanas which were 3 enchiladas smothered in 3 sauces - the queso, a verde sauce, and a hot sauce. The hot sauce was very good and spicy and I would definitely ask for more next time. My husband got the pollo loco and man, that was delicious. The chicken was super tender and well seasoned. He also got a couple of street tacos (steak and pastor) and raved about how delicious those were. The entree portions were generous. The service was also friendly and attentive. I forget to check in but I've been here several times and each time the do not disappoint with their food. The service at times are slow, but they keep your drinks full and chips stocked. The last time I visited they were expanding the dining area so the wait for a table should be corrected. This location also recently opened, they moved from another location. This has to be one of the most authentic Mexican food restaurant in town. They offer home made waters that are excellent and authentic. Much of the menu reminds me of living in Mexico. I usually get the Mexican flag burrito which comes out smothered in 3 different sauces. The burrito is spicy so be prepared for some hot goodness wrapped up in a tortilla. I will start this review saying that I'm from Texas, and grew up on Mexican food (tex mex). I have now eaten at this place twice, and am in love with it. The staff is incredibly nice, and so is the owner. The first time I came I had the enchiladas Mexicans, and it was delicious. The chicken inside was very flavorful. So impressed with it in fact that I had to come back the next day. The second time I ate here I had the enchiladas rancheras. Absolutely delicious. Both meals I had mole put on top as well, which they do a great mole! The saddest thing about these meals is that my stomach isn't big enough to order more. If you're looking for amazing Mexican food, look no further. This is my second favorite Mexican food in the world, my first is in Austria, weirdly enough. Second in my book, only marginally, and definitely beats the best spots I know in Texas. read more

A week later my husband is still waiting for a call from the manager. I can't say the food was great mine was ok. My husband couldn't even finish his cause his was so bad. On top of the food not being the greatest their customer service was definitely no better. When my husband called to complain about the food, he asked to speak to the manager, he was told the manager wasn't there. The girl took his name and number and said they will call him back. The server was the best, he was so helpful when we had questions about the menu. Our food was out so quick I couldn't believe it. Not impressed. Service horrible, food was at least "decent". When we walked in, we stood at the entry as the wait staff bustled around. About 50% of the tables were occupied or dirty. We waited a good 10 minutes before I approached a waitress and asked if she could establish a wait time for me. Up until I approached her, we had been completely ignored. Shortly after this we were seated. From this point it was a struggle to get anything: water, silverware, our food... the wait time for our food was well over an hour. The waitress did apologize for the delay, however, by this point we and our children were just done. Once our food arrived it was hot, and decent. Not the best I've ever had by a long shot though! Cleanliness sub par. Multiple tables around restaurant remained un-bussed throughout our LONG adventure. My 10 year old even commented on how dirty the floor was. Additionally the bathrooms were gross. Trash all over the floor. Had to wipe urine off the toilet seat.. ugh. Bottom line, we frequent the area and decided to try this family run establishment.
