I'm from the southwest so satisfying Mexican food is hard to find. This place sufficed to say the least. I was able to get one of my favorite Mexican dishes- a Chile relleno and it came with black beans and rice. It was a bit different than what I'm used to, but in a good way. It came smothered in a really good Chile sauce and it was a huge serving for a good price! We also ordered quacamole and even had enough to take home. The only complaint is that the food took a really long time to come out and there was probably one other family in the restaurant. read more

The horchata was great, the tacos fantastic, and the restaurant's specialties were delicious as well. The restaurant is small with about 6-10 tables, plastic table covers, and a single unisex restroom. Although it is small, it is clean and the service is attentive. Everyone is very kind and they remember our orders now fairly well. It's nice to be remembered. The breakfast meals are my favorite things to have on a Sunday morning after church and the people who work there are quite friendly. The food here is authentic and delicious. We are new to the area but have already been there once a week since our arrival. It is that good! Try the marinated pork tacos, horchata, and the breakfast. You will not be disappointed. read more

Absolute worst service I've ever had in my entire life. The waitress forgot our chips and pico..after asking 3 times. Forgot refills on waters. when she finally refilled she didnt even put ice In the glass. She brought wrong entree for the birthday boy yet still brought all the rest so by the time his correct entree came ..we were putting food in to go containers. All in all we never recieved apps. Drink refills were iceless tap water. Dinners took an hour plus One entree took almost 2 hours. And after all of this nothing was offered to compensate ruining a birthday dinner. Sucks bc the food is authentic and fresh...the best mexican food around for great prices. they need to work pk on customer service before they lose alot of customers. read more

We were always taught that it's not the cover of the book but the content within the book that truly matters. Cielito Lindo's cover does not lack for character, but the true gift of this place falls upon your senses when you begin to get inside its rustic cover. Here are a few quotes from the diners at our table: "THE BEST PLACE I HAVE EVER EATEN !!!" "The food was absolutely fantastic, everything ordered was delicious! " "The staff is helpful and friendly. You'll want to order every thing on the menu!!!" "It's so good :)" read more

Traveled from Morris County to bring my sweet Mexican mom who loves this food. It was worth the drive! The menudo (sopa de pancita) is 100% authentic like the rest of the food. Large portions. Try the Aguas Frescas - my favorite is Jamaica. I've tried other plates here and this place never disappoints (my bar for authentic Mexican food is very high). Will definitely be back!! Muchísimas gracias y que sigan triunfando con esta comida deliciosa!! read more

The food was good and the portions were fulfilling. The service was a little slow but they were courteous and welcoming. I would recommend this place if your looking for authentic Mexican food and a good atmosphere. read more

This is our go to spot for Mexican takeout. Their brisket tacos, shrimp fritas quesadilla and steak burritos are great. Not sure how they make their salsa verde but it is incredible! Would give 5 stars if delivery was quicker (have waited up to 2 hours). We just order on the earlier side to be safe. Food has always been hot upon arrival. read more

I love the food here, but the delivery service is absolutely horrendous. This is my second time ordering delivery and I have been waiting for 1 1/2 hours. The first time I waited about an hour. Thought it was a fluke, so decided to give it another shot. Now I know better. You guys have awesome food- but this is a huge hole in your business. Please figure it out. read more

Okay so here's the thing: cielito lindo has banging food for crazy cheap prices. The tacos are like $2 a piece, and awesome quality so authentic (porks my fave). HOWEVER this place will make u wait. I'm talking like 50+ min for two people for simple taco dishes. It's good food the service is just terrible. Such a shame bc with good management I feel like it could really take off. read more

I'm a total jerk about finding good Mexican food. I have been to Mexico multiple times (and no, not the touristy/spring break cities) and am always ready to try out new Mexican places hoping to find The One. I live in Manhattan, and have no problem admitting that there's no good Mexican here. That being said, Cielito Lindo in Belmar is some of the best, if not the best that I have ever had in the US. This little hole in the wall may not look like much, but inside you will find some of the most authentic and delicious Mexican food in the tri-state area. I love the mole on their chicken enchiladas. Seriously, you will have a very hard time finding mole better than this. Their horchata is delicious, and you can get chips and fresh guacamole for under $5. I wish they had lunch specials, but everything is very reasonably priced (about $10/entree). Did I mention it's BYOB? Have fun! read more

Very bad serving .. I ordered for chicken they gave steak and after that waited for about an hour ,finally they just said they not yet started cooking .. I'll not recommend this place .. Waste of time ... read more

If you want Authentic Mexican, come here. We were the only non Latinos in the place. The service was friendly and attentive. Every thing was prepared fresh, to order. If you're looking for Surf Taco or On the Border you'll be disappointed. They have all authentic and traditional dishes! Delicious!!! I've never seen a Mexican restaurant in NJ serve cactus!! read more

Stumbled on this place when 10th ave burrito had a 2 hour wait. Walked in, got seated immediately. The chips and salsa are delicious. It's more of a pico but it's made fresh and delicious. Had chicken enchiladas with mole sauce and a chorizo taco (my 2 main staples for trying out new mexican restaurants). The chorizo taco... WoW!!! one of the best i've ever had. The enchiladas were good but the mole sauce was a tad overpowering. The beans and rice were good, despite not being a fan of black beans. I didn't ask if they had pinto or refried beans so I don't know if either of them are an alternative. Prices were fantastic and the flan was amazing. We'll definitely be back. read more

Just walked out after waiting over 50 minutes after placing our order - for some tacos! Tables received meals that came in and ordered after us. Combined with zero a/c on a hot summer night, it didn't work for us. They need to get their act together. Very bad kitchen. read more

Hands down best Mexican in the area. Totally authentic and full of flavor. Reasonably priced. I have seen a lot of complaints about wait time...I think it's worth waiting for good food. My favorites are the fajitas because they mix the cheese in with the veggies and meat so that it melts, and the veggie burrito. The tacos are also great- the carnitas is my favorite. Must try. read more

Disappointing. Best way to sum this place up. Heard good reviews and finally gave it a shot - no beuno. We waited 45mins for tacos.. got chicken, pork and beef. All over cooked and beef was straight fat and gristle. Disappointing. read more

Looks can be deceiving. The place looked very promising so we gave it a shot. We waited 30 minutes for shrimp fajitas and camerones rancheros. The fajitas were smothered in cheese (who does that?) and the waitress forgot to bring out the tortillas. The shrimp in the camerones rancheros was overcooked. They also ran out of chips and the avocado that was served wasn't ripe. At least the water was refreshing. 2 stars actually seems a bit generous, but hey, I'm a reeeaaallllyyy nice guy and the weekend is just getting kicked off. Oh, here comes the waitress. Time to leave my 10% tip. read more

The food is the best bang for your buck food in or anywhere near Belmar. Hands down. I live in Belmar, every time I passed this place it was busy. So, I took the wife there for some Mexican fare. I will say the entire place which is small and could use some clean up and interior help was still being run by only 2 woman on this day so service was kind of slow. With that being said I didn't mind the food taking a little while because the chips n salsa that they give you for free is delicious. We had a variety of items off the menu as we were there to kinda see what the place was all about. Everything we had was delicious. The prices are more then fair. Check it out. BYOB ... Bring a bottle of wine this way u won't mind the slow service but you will not be disappointed with the food. read more

Food is pretty good but service is extremely slow. I've ordered delivery from this place too...don't expect your food in under an hour and a half. read more

Food was fantastic!! From the apps to our dinners everyone was great! The service was a little slow but no one seemed to mind. Hugh portions, almost too much food. Will defiantly go back read more

I would have given 5 stars because the food is great, but the lady at the counter was not friendly at all. (We are a Spanish speaking family) read more

Great authentic Mexican joint right near the beach. Cheap and incredible food for those that appreciate good Mexican anywhere!

This place is perfect if you're looking for a quick casual bite to eat. My brother and I went here because we wanted more authentic tacos and wanted to try something new besides Surf Taco. The chips and salsa they brought out in the beginning that comes with your meal was so fresh and tasted delicious. The tacos were pretty average but we just wanted something to eat after the beach and this was great for that. If you don't want to spend a lot of money and want to have some tacos at a casual place this place is perfect! read more

Hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had, and I am picky because I have Mexican blood. I have brought my Mexican family there and they have all been very impressed. A gem of a place if you love authentic Mexican food!!!!! read more

Great food, just like the places back in my home state of California! Little hole in the wall, i have no complaints bout the little gem. The horchata was absolutely perfect. By far the best authentic Mexican food in the area. The family who runs the place couldn't be more friendly. read more

The food here is absolutely fabulous! The decor is awful, it's a totally dive, but the food is fresh, delicious and very reasonable priced. Love it! read more

New location with food just as good. Insane selection of authentic tacos. The pig head taco is awesome. A bit slow on service but very solid food. Decent prices to boot. Will be back read more

This place has been around for several years now but has just remodeled and now has a more restaurant atmosphere. To me, it's always a good sign if you see people from the ethnic group of the restaurant frequent it. None of that has changed with the remodel, and the food is as good as it has always been. What's changed in my mind is the service. Historically, it was hit or miss but this has definitely changed for the positive. Greeted at the door. Follow up during the meal. Everything you expect from a restaurant but not always there in the past. Previously I came for the food - now I will come for the experience. read more

The food is very good - truly authentic Mexican. However even though it was a Monday night, the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. I waited 30 minutes for an order of guacamole and an hour for my enchiladas. Don't go unless you have a lot of time to kill read more

Was brought here by positive reviews. Took 1 hour to get 10 tacos made which ended up being cold and meat was dry. Ceviche was made with ketchup like sauce and did not taste good. Our waters were not refilled once and we were not asked if we wanted more chips. Overall not happy with this restaurant. read more

Ordered some lunch a few times here it's was bomb muy rico la comida I'm new to the area was worth the u turn

Let me start off by saying that my wife is Mexican. I go to Mexico City at least once a year. I eat Mexican food a lot. I know Mexican food. And I know the difference between Tex Mex and authentic Mexican- two completely different cuisines.... I walked in with high hopes. The menu was authentic and the crowd was largely Hispanic. I ordered 4 tacos. The chrorizo was really good, the others were a big time let down. Meat was very fatty and not in a good way. Overall taste just eh. The salsas were also not great. On top of all of this, the waitress was extremely unfriendly and barely payed me any attention. I felt very unwelcome. When she brought my check she didn't even say a word, just dropped it and walked away. No "Thank You." Nothing. I don't even know why I'm giving it 2 stars. Should probably be 1. read more
