I had gone to Ciel a couple times in the recent past as I just moved to the area. The services are pricey, however the convenient location made up for it. Last time I went, I had called in advance to ask how much shellac manicure was, to make sure I had enough cash. After I had my service, it turned out that the person made a mistake on the phone and the service cost more. I was about two dollars shy and asked for $2 off since it was the staff's mistake. The manager jumped out and gave me an unnecessarily long and aggressive lecture on how it doesn't matter if they made a mistake, because even Pizza places don't give discounts if they make mistakes (??!!!) After I'd already paid by cc and tipped my lady, the manager was still talking! NEVER AGAIN!!! p.s. Note to the management: it is bad business to lose a client over $2. read more

I am downgrading my previous review (below) to one star as I received bizarre message from a person posing as "Emily Stephens, Criminal Defense Lawyer" threatening me "To delete my account on Yelp" unless I remove my negative review of Ciel (for Yelp staff: the message is still in my mailbox). As you could've guessed, there is no lawyer with such name and, obviously, no lawyer would ever risk her reputation with such dubious message. When something like this happens it is the best indication that owners try to manipulate their business's rating on Yelp, so I suggest avoiding and boycotting this business. Previous review posted in May 2015 (was 2 stars): My manicurist retired and I had to look for a new place. I tried Ciel place twice and will not come back. After I did shellac there the first time it was gone within a week. I tried another place and the shellac was holding well for over 2 weeks, which is typical for my nails. Yet, Ciel has nice setup and it is very close to my work, so I can do my nail during lunch break. Well, I went there again and the same story: less than a week and the shellac started peeling off. I went to Ciel after it was highly recommended to me, I wanted a set of nails put on, which was my first mistake. If they don't do false nails they should have told me and I would have happily gone elsewhere. Clearly the lady did not know what she was doing as everyone nail was a different length and shape. I left before the service was done but I did pay the full price $69. I had to go elsewhere to have this mess fixed up and when I tried calling them they obviously have call display and would not answer the phone. All in all I am hugely disappointed in this and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

This place was clean and the employees all pleasant but my shellac manicure is chipping within 2 days of having it applied. My pedicure is also chipping within 1 day of having it done. Normally pedicures last 1-2 months before they chip. I do shellac regularly and normally it will last 1-2 weeks minimum. This place was very expensive and the quality of work is definitely not worth the extra cost. read more

I decided to give this place a second chance after the mix up last time. I was happily surprised how nice and accommodating the staff was. The place it's very clean and nicely decorated. They have huge screen tv's with movies playing all the time and the massage chairs are heavenly. I actually might get my lash extensions done here. Great job ladies! read more

Nice enough of a painting job, but cut my skin around my finger nails and toe nails multiple times. Some of the cuts are bleeding, and overall the skin feels really tender and hurts because of how rough they were. I also felt rushed to leave. I made a yelp account just to share this review because this place is that bad. DO NOT GO HERE. Not only did I realize they have a bunch of fake reviews on their google site (I should have just a bit more down when I first saw how high the rating was). I've never in my life written a bad review but this place was the worst nail place I've ever been to. Not only did I wait 40min past my appointment time, but the shellac manicure I got was the worst one I've ever gotten. Cuticles were terribly cut, I had nail polish all over my fingers, cuticles and hands, my nails looked like thick blob bubbles because too much polish was applied, nail shape was not even, it was not painted on the sides and was lifting the second I left the salon and on top of that the nail people who did my nails (I believe her name was Annie) was super hostile and rude the second I pointed anything out, she then proceeded to argue with me and verbally accused me of making it all up when it was evident my nails were a rushed mess because they were so busy. She also said that I must never get my nails done to know what good work is like (? I get my nails done at least once a month and know for a fact what good work looks like, I shouldn't have nail polish on my palms...) I left almost in tears. I will never be coming back and don't recommend this place to anyone. And to top it all off they were not following COVID rules, people were sitting right next to each other 1 meter a part and the place was double over capacity. Not sure how they haven't been shit down to be honest. Three other people had problems with their service over the two hours I was in there, which should have been a sign for me to leave. I got a shellac manicure on Wednesday afternoon and by Friday morning, my white nails had brown marks all over them! They looked terrible. I called Ciel to ask them if I could come in to have someone quickly fix it and they told me that the change in colour and brown marks was my fault and they wouldn't fix it. After spending over 60 dollars on Wednesday, I am extremely angry about how they have handled this issue. I have been a long-time customer and will not be going back there. They used bad polish and told the customer that is was their fault - this is a terrible way to run a business and I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to go there. Happy Saturday! read more

I have been coming here for over 5+ years with no hesitation, and my nails and toes have always been perfect! There are always new colours, and popular colours are always in stock!
