I used to go to Cicero Nails and Spa frequently while in high school, and my dip powder nails with tips would always last around 4 weeks until I had to physically remove them. Unfortunately, I went when home from a college break and got the same thing as I usually do, and they lasted exactly 2 weeks before one nail completely cracked off. This is disappointing as I used to love the experience years prior; they are very clean and also quick with their quality services. Went for a pedi today for my birthday and it was sub par at best. The gentleman did not file my nails, didn't ask if I liked my color (I did not), and didn't get my callouses very well. I'm in bed writing this, and my nails are catching on the bedsheets. He cut the skin under my left big toe so I had to put on antibiotic ointment and a bandage in hopes of it not getting infected. No shoulder rub while my nails were drying. I felt very "unpampered," to say the least. My daughter was tended to by two very nice and competent young ladies and therefore had a much better experience than I did, which is why I gave the establishment 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. On top of that, someone's ring app kept going off loudly the whole time we were there. Yes, there are many serious concerns in the world that this doesn't even come close to comparing to, but it certainly was a disappointing birthday treat. I just got my nails done here for the first time. My sister recommended this Nail Salon and made and appointment for the both of us. I absolutely loved it. When we got there we were greeted immediately by one of the owners. My sister noticed it was much busier than usual and we did have to wait for about 10 minutes which my sister said is unusual but we didn't mind waiting. The owner came right over and apologized for the wait and directed us to the seating area. I noticed while waiting and while getting my nails done that the owners managed to greet and say goodbye and thank you to every single person that arrived or left. Everyone was working incredibly hard. I also noticed that the salon was very clean. I could see them sanitizing tools and taking out new clean ones when they needed them. They don't do acrylic nails because they are very bad for your nails so the place doesn't smell like acrylic which I love. I got a power gel manicure. It was $35 and Victor did amazing! When we paid the owner gave us a $5 off coupon for our next appointment because of the small wait we had which of course they didn't have to do but I thought it shows that they are great business owners. To summarize it was clean, everyone was polite and pleasant, the owners are the sweetest people, Victor did an amazing job on my nails! I'll be sure to come here always from now on! read more

I thought the paraffin would be a dip but it's a just a little patch on the heal - skip the added expense. The polish application is fine, but I do a better job with my cuticles and calluses at home. They sat us all at the same time, but each of the three girls actually got their toes done while I sat and soaked my feet in cold water for 40 minutes being completely ignored. I just moved to NY and I'm so happy to have found this place! Everyone is SUPER friendly and the cost is pretty inexpensive for the type of great service that you receive. I usually get the 'Number 2' which is a gel manicure, spa pedicure (hot stone and 10 minute leg massage), and the 10 minute back massage for only $75! This last time I had Victor and I think I'll always ask for him- his massages were that good! This place is very clean and even if it's packed, the wait is very short. I came into the salon directly after work and needed time to relax and unwind while getting beautiful new nails. One night I had a nail emergency and was coming from out of town bc I went on a college tour and I really needed my nails done, so I had called them an hour before close to see if they could squeeze me in and they did! I brought my own polish and enjoyed the hot stone pedicure however, the *menu said $35 but I was charged $42 and I tipped $7 before I noticed the technician put only 1 coat, and didn't even paint all the way to the cuticle! It looked like a 2 week old pedicure. I asked him to fix it, and he put a little more polish on when I was at the dryer, but he STILL didn't cover the nail beds and it looks awful. NEVER GOING BACK. I got a UV gel set and it is horrible, does not look natural, hard bumps in the gel, some are very thick and uneven while others very thin. Asked for a design on two fingers and by the time I realized she was done (as I never had this type before) I asked about my design and she just responded she forgot. Did offer to redue but after already being there for an hour and a half and two people waiting after me that had appointments, I declined as had a wedding to attend. Best value for your money. I consistently go for gel manicures. They are very careful not to let any polish pool up near your cuticles. This has happened at so many other nail places and it looks terrible when they start to grow out. I have never once had this problem with Cicero Nail Spa. They also give you a little back massage with is a nice treat. Good pedicures too, you can get a pedi and gel mani for just $50.
