There was no apology for antagonizing me into a screaming match due to the excessive talking over. I would be more than happy to update my reviews if he takes accountability for his mistakes and refunds my elderly mother on the money he forced her to pay for a tow that we had not asked for. He lied to 4 about this situation. His behavior was completely unacceptable and unwarranted. I highly recommend to not do business with him unless you want to be verbally abused. Now, I did pay attention to some lessons, so I do know a few things about cars - enough to know when someone's trying to fill me full of bullsh*t. I can't count the number of places I've been to and walked right back out of. CPT is a refreshing change. Al and his team are knowledgeable, efficient, and actually seem to really care about what they do. Al is clearly a driving enthusiast, as I see his porsche cup car parked outside when I go, and I've seen him around at more than a few track events around the area. The last time I was there, CPT installed a set of high-performance brakes on my car. I picked it up the same day. The prices are reasonable, definitely cheaper than a dealer. I'm sure you can find a cheaper place, but when it comes to my car, I don't want to worry about quality. The shop is pretty big, and business seems to be good, but there are enough staff on board to make sure your needs are met without a long delay. The work floor is clean and well-organized. I can't say enough about the service at CPT. I was far from home and had a major mechanical malfunction with my car. I was getting ready to freak out, but Al happened to be around. He packed up my car, got everything back to factory conditions, helped me get it to the dealer, made sure I got home safely, and referred me to an awesome dealer. Why? I'm not sure, other than knowing Al and CPT are just naturally good people who happen to work on cars. Even better, Al talks to me like I'm a person, not slow and loud, like most mechanics have talked to me since chicks don't know anything about cars! CPT is for folks who want to get the best performance out of their vehicle. I would recommend CPT to anyone who fits the above statement. I live in Chicago and it's worth the drive for me. The combined mileage for the 5 cars is approximately 785,000 and counting. While it is not uncommon to have a Toyota or Honda for 125-200 thousand miles, that doesn't happen if the auto garage one uses isn't proactive, thorough and offer very fair pricing. I was just there (Hi-Tech) this week for a slow-leak in one of my tires. My car was brought into one of the bays and checked; 15 minutes later I was driving home. Tire was fixed, warning light was re-set and I was on my way. I was there for less than 30 minutes. For my five cars over the 20+ years, Hi-tech has exclusively handled the regular maintenance and as cars aged all the "bigger ticket" maintenance. He asked me a couple of questions and told me what he thought was the problem and an approximate cost to repair. I said I would be there Monday morning. I arrived Monday morning and they drove my car around a tiny bit to see what was happening. I received a call a few minutes later and they told me what needed to be done (front brake pads and rotors) and the cost (which was what I was told on Saturday). Would order parts and get to work. I had asked earlier if it was advisable to do both sides since it was already in for work. Told me right away, not necessarily. They would check it. Could have doubled the cost and I wouldn't have blinked an eye but they did not recommend much less push it. They finished it and called about 2 PM. All around good experience.
