STAY AWAY! The mechanics working here have no idea what they are doing. They will guess at what the issue with your car is and start throwing expensive fixes until you either get frustrated or run out of money. I doubt any of them are ASE certified. It looks like the owner just hired his friends to work here without any training. I took my car in to get a second opinion after I had taken it elsewhere. They came to a completely different conclusion than the 1st shop and the fix was slightly cheaper but still expensive. I just wanted my car back on the road so I agreed to get it fixed but before I did I clearly asked them ''do you guarantee that this is the issue and it will fix my car?" and they said ''YES we GUARANTEE IT''. Fast forward a whole week, they happily take my hard earned money and my car has the EXACT same issue as before. I take it back and they tell me ''oh sorry the problem is something else then'' but REFUSE to give me my money back for the part they replaced. REFUSED to show me the broken part they replaced because they ''sent it out'' and they REFUSED to fix my car without me handing them another $1,000. There are way too many good shops around the area to give these fools any of your hard earned money. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Learn from my mistake. I now have to waste my time by reviewing them, reporting them to BBB and taking them to court to try to get my money back. read more

Negative stars! The WORST customer service, the person who called me today was obnoxious and condescending..clearly thinks woman don't know anything about cars. Told me I'm busy so you can come pick your car up when I corrected him and told him that auto start doesn't turn your car off in traffic with all the lights coming on..and stall out..I literally have to put the car in park and restart the car..I called the dealer and told them how he acted and they said they will be removing this shop from the list of warranty repair shops. To be honest, I pulled into this shop to get an oil change because it was close to where I usually get my oil change, but they were full so I had to come here. Sam took care of me and got everything done quick, for like 5 bucks more, but I didn't have to wait as long as I usually do at my other shop. He also checked out my car free of charge and did let me know about shit that needed to be swapped out. He called a few places and was honest when he told me that it was super expensive and I should look around. Communicative, honest, and quick. I was super nervous after pulling in and seeing their reviews after I had already handed them my car, but hey it turned out alright. read more

I had a noise coming from my rear axel and since I was staying close by, I left my car there to have it checked out. When I got a call from them the next day, I was told that it was my rear drum set that was worn out and needed to be replaced and was quoted over $800. I had my entire rear brake set replaced before and it cost me no more then $300 to have it done (I drive 08 Corolla). I already knew something was off, and said I won't have it done at this time. Surprisingly, they tried to negotiate a lower price with me and asked how much am I willing to pay, that's another red flag. So I decided to take it to a different shop and just asked them to replace the oil. When my girlfriend and baby drove the car the next day the hood has opened up and almost destroyed the whole windshield as they didn't probably close the hood... they did admit the mistake and replaced the windshield but I lost the tint strap I had running on the top of it and my hood does not close the way it used to and in addition, it sticks out leaving a gap... Now when I took my car to a different shop near by, it turned out to be a bearing not my brakes and the noise was fixed for around $250. In my opinion, this shop will try to rip you off and I would not recommend going there! read more

I received an Openbay Rewards total of $40 to use for a discount on any mechanic service, so I chose a wheel alignment adjustment because my steering wheel is turning very loosely when I make turns. Openbay referred me to American Auto Repair & Tire but when I got there at 5351 S Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL 60632, their sign read Expert Auto Center. The price for the alignment was $49.99 minus my $40 rebate which all I had to pay out of pocket was $9. The mechanic took my 2002 Lincoln LS Base Sedan inside the shop and while my vehicle was up on a lift, the shop President Hamza Hassan and his Hispanic mechanic asked me to come inside the shop where the mechanics worked so they can shop me something, there they showed me dark red transmission fluid on the ground as evidence from them that I needed a new steering rack and pinion because it was flooded. I had no previous fluid leaks, my car stays inside my garage everyday day and there's no leaks on my floor, not until I took my car to Expert Auto Center, this is when their SCAM begins. Now they are telling me that I need a new Steering Rack and Pinion which will resolve the loose steering wheel issue because the other one was worn on the ends, as they say, but I'm no mechanic, so I agreed. And then another issue, then another issue, etc., so now I have to take a Lyft home because the shops was closing. They kept my car for 5 days and I had to take another Lyft to get there. Instead of me just getting the 4-wheel alignment like Openbay suggested, I wound up with a 6K bill from Expert Auto Center which they easily got two finance companies to approve me for 3K each which I am now paying both companies bi-weekly. I feel like I've been robbed big time! Furthermore, I still have the loose steering issue and now there's a leak is on my garage floor. Also, the manager of Expert Auto Center Hamza Hassan brother name Mike Hassan, did not return my old parts as I requested twice because I know they gave my steering gear assembly part and others to their suppliers for a refund. They are a total RIP-OFF and SCAM which has now left me in huge financial debt just to get my car back! read more

They priced their tires at double so that they can overcharge my insurance and have me pay the difference. I'm assuming they thought I wouldn't follow up with my insurance and credit card. The tire they used on my car is 139.90 everywhere I checked. They tried to bill my insurance 298.42 that's more than 2x the price. They claim that's what their distributor charges them. Complete BS. Nonetheless, my insurance only covered what that tire is worth 139.90; also covered labor and sales tax and labor for a total of 179.24. When I went to pick up my car they claimed the insurance didn't cover the entire price of the tire and billed me an additional 90 dollars. Initially, nothing seemed off until my dad told me I had no deductible and should follow up with my insurance sure enough they are running some shady shop. I let them know I would be doing a homage back through my CC. This place is a total scam. Won't be going here again and suggest you guys don't either. read more

Carmax sent me to them and it was a very unprofessional experience..first off they charged 200 for a battery because they dont take outside parts so the own say..so I get in my jeep and 1 of them went through my car like they was looking for something..they didnt put my covers back on my battery or my engine..its oil stains on seats in the back..disappointment is and under statement I'm pissed the fuck off... read more

My 2005 truck failed emissions testing and the form recommended this facility as a viable option to fix my problem. Turns out I had issues with a oxygen sensor. After acquiring a loan the crooked individuals working here claimed all 4 sensors are bad and they needed to be changed. They overcharged for labor and they forced me to purchase "their parts" leading to a bill over $1500 to change 4 sensors. I thought since I paid so much I would at least have the problem resolved so I can pass emissions. Unfortunately the computer still read 3 bad oxygen sensors. I took the car back and the guys their claimed they fix the issue. I used the reader and it read 2 bad sensors now. I eventually gave up and acquired the waiver from the DMV because I've definitely spent over 500$ to fix the issue. This auto shop is trash and I'm pretty sure it's some scamming going on with the parts they use and put on your car. The labortime charges are milked purposely. Stay away from here unless you want bad service read more

I took my vehicle for a brake inspection because carx quoted me $950 for brake work. I had received a coupon in the mail from Expert auto centers advertising a free brake inspection. So I figured let me get a second opinion. After Expert Auto Centers inspected my car, they found that my brakes were good and the noise that was coming from the brakes was from a bearing. They replaced the bearing and the noise was no longer there. Just imagine I could paid all that money for something that only cost me $170. Of the mechanics I've had over the years, these are the ~only~ ones I would recommend to anyone. Friendly and personable, they're generally quick and know what they're doing - in fact, if the job is major, they will show you what they did - show you the parts - show you what was wrong, etc. The best part about this crew however is that they really respect their regulars. They are really willing to work with you if an issue is too expensive, they will eat fees that other car places would make YOU pay when they really don't have to, and last time I had a job done, it took a bit longer than normal and they gave me a free oil change. I've researched the jobs they do and the price ranges, and they never go above what's listed by other places(and in general are far lower, especially if you're a regular). Highly recommended - treat them nice and they will treat you right. read more

I wish I could give these guys no stars but you have to leave one. Don't get fooled by there, it usually cost this much but I'm going to give you a deal today. Get a written detailed estimate before you let them work on your car. I took my car in there for an exhaust leak. He told me (Greg) that the job usually cosy $400 and today was my lucky day, because they were slow he would charge me $325. I asked him if he could be fine within the hour because I had to be at work, and he said it would take $40 minutes. I looked at the wall and it said 95/hr for labor so I was like geez, them parts are exoensive, I do drive a 2006 scion xb, I figured it's an import, maybe it does cost that much. They were done within the time frame he gave me, as I gave then my card to pay the guy working on my car said there is another leak in the muffler. I looked up at Mike the other guy there and he swiped my credit card before they can explain anything to me about the other leak. I was pissed! I demanded a written detailed receipt of the work performed and to my surprise They charged me $200 an hour for labor when it specifically says $95/hr for labor on the wall. They tried to say that they reduced the price of the parts to get to the price they verbally estimated, this was my fault I was in a hurry I should have requested the estimate in writing first, Well after they charged my card I would not sign there written estimate because the labor charge was wrong and he said (mike) that he would fix it. I thought he was going to credit me the over charge, but no. He had the audacity to tell me that he was changing the figures on the receipt to show the $95/hr labor charge and was going to increase the price of the parts to justify the $340 he was charging me. This is a shady ass mechanic. Who does that?!! Well I was done with them and refused to sign the work order, mind you they already charged my card. They would not release my car until I signed the work order saying that I was good with there work. The dude literally would not give me my keys (mike) until I signed, basically saying I was satisfied with their work. I called the police and they said it was a civil matter and they could not do anything to release my car from captivity, UNBELIEVABLE! Well I signed and ran out of there with my car still venting from the exhaust and $340 in the gutter. Well right now I am writing this review from Velazquez muffler shop on archer and Kilpatrick so they can check the where the exhaust is venting from and when they lifted the car they showed me that this repair that this sorry shop made earlier this morning was flawed!!!! They did not cut the hangar to the muffler, they left it long enough too every time I shifted the transmission the hangar would not let the muffler move the inch it needs to move when it goes in gear, YES! THEY SET ME UP FOR ANOTHER PROBLEM DOWN THE ROAD! SHADY!!! Take your car there at your own risk, they will never have any of my business anymore. FYI.this is only the 3rd review I've ever written, after being on yelp for 6 years. I felt that maybe I could help someone and save them money. There's a car x across the street or this place I'm at now Velazquez complete auto care. Check them out before you end up dropping a mortgage payment at this spot. read more

I found the breaks deal on groupon which sounded like a great deal 40$ for replacement of the front or rear pads. I'm glad I stopped by before I purchased this deal. I was explained by not such pleasant guy that groupon deal only covers the cost of the pads but the labor would cost me around 75$ more. So i don't see how 115$ for one axle is a great deal and i can only assume how much more it would be if i would need to replace the rotors which you normally should do. read more

Thieves!!! Rip off!!! Poor communication!!! I went in for break pads and was told it was 100 total in labor. It wasn't until it was time to pay that the guy tells me it's 100 for the front break pads and 100 for the back break pads. Total in labor was 200 for one hour labor!??!!?????
