We just finished a late lunch at Cicco's Restaurante on Prince William Way...I must say, for an "Italian restaurant", it leaves much to be desired. The mussels were served with about 25% broken shells, totally unacceptable, the veal was way overcooked, the Salmon dinner was cold and, for the price, the Salmon should be the star of the show (tiny 2.99 piece, for $30). Scallops overcooked and minimal sauce on the pasta...the upside? Our server was great and so was the Calimari... otherwise, not recommended...I'm sorry for not taking pics, but I was still enjoying my social time with family...and, apparently, no manager on the weekend... what kind of restaurant has no management on any given day... very poorly run establishment read more

My wife and I were staying at Friday harbour and decided to get Italian food. It was bad, Caesar salad never came, the French fries tasted as if they were made the day before. The pasta was beyond over cooked and the Bolognese was just ground beef and canned marinara. The garlic bread was inedible. The chicken parm sandwich was alright for bar food but way too expensive for the quality, which was the theme of the meal. I gave a star because pizza was good. Kids liked it. read more

Went to Cicco's for Barrielicious, menu had up charges for most entrees. We were 4 people, waited over 3/4 hour for our salads. Then dinner almost another 1/2 later. Service terrible. Chicken over cooked. Don't waste your time going there. Manager wouldn't do anything for us. read more

I REALLY wanted to like this place. Being new to the area, I was very excited when we saw this restaurant being built as it was just around the corner, and we hadn't yet found a favourite place close to our new home. For our first visit, we stopped by in the afternoon and tried to make a reservation. They politely told us they don't take reservations because of the high traffic. They suggested we come back around 8:30 when it starts to slow down and we would not have to wait long for a seat. We were on our way past just before 8 and figured we would stop early even if it mean't that we had to wait for a bit. Surprisingly, we walked in and there was only one table that was filled in the entire restaurant. The best way to describe the decor would be to compare it to eating in a warehouse. There are extension cords running across the floor to a spaceheater which did not help prevent the cold draft every time the front door was opened. The walls were bare. The seating was also interesting. The tables have chairs on one side and a "couch" on the other. Sitting in the couch very closely resembles sitting on a toilet without realizing the seat had been lifted. I spent the meal perched uncomfortably with the table around chest hieght. We ordered the calamari as a starter on the recommendation of the server who assured us it was the best in Barrie. It's not. The texture and tenderness was perfect, but it was oily and flavourless. The Entrees were better, but nothing special. I ordered the Chicken Marsala (which I always compare to the excellent dish served at the Jolly 2). I was OK, but again, lacking much flavour. The only thing that did have a lot of flavour to it was the Alfredo sauce which was overwhelmingly sugary. A couple of weeks later, we decided that we would give them a try again to see how their pizza was. Having a few great independent pizza places around our old house, we have been looking for a good one near us now. The food was ready for pick up on time and was a good temperature when we got it home. The pizza was OK, but nothing that I would go out of my way to order again. The biggest disappointment however, was the fetuccini that we ordered. Having had some great take out pasta from places like Sinopoli's and Pizzatalliano, we were expecting more. We were literaly expecting more. We opened the container and were shocked at the small lump of pasta in the center of the mostly empty container. It was dry, with some watery sauce pooling in the bottom. Being a little concerned that we paid 16 dollars for a couple forkfulls of pasta, we called them to see if it was a normal serving. They advised that they may have sent a child's serving instead and told us they would deliver us a new one, which the did very promptly. Unfortunately, although visibly fresher, it was the same very small serving of pasta. As mentioned, we really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, except for maybe ordering a pizza if I want to pick one up close to home, I don't think I'll be back any time soon. read more

Sorry for the bad reviews. My friend and I have gone there several times and we really like the food and service. It is the best true Italian restaurant -- proper italian aroma's and taste. Several options. Requested a rose' or white zinfandel and they didn't have it once, but did the next time. Ok, I can't give this restaurant any review on the food because we were turned away by the hostess, well I know it was Barrielicious going on but I think no restaurant should turn people away. Too bad that happened I don't think we will be back. Disappointing attitude, it was just My husband, our 5 year old and I, on a snowy Saturday at 5 pm. Visited the minesing ciccos on George Johnston road at hwy 26 - have had great food and friends service every time. Pizza is made fresh to order. Homemade Caesar salad with garlic dressing...delish! Would recommend ordering the Caesar salad for sure! read more

I actually would not even give this restaurant a one star. We went for Barrielicious and the service was extremely slow however cheerful. The menu had quite a few items that were an up charge. We were four people and two of us ordered off the Barrielicious menu and were extremely disappointed. The other two ordered off the menu and were equally disappointed. I am sure glad we did not try it with all of us paying their high prices for poor quality, presentation and flavor of food. Awful, awful, awful. read more

I have never been in your eating place. From the reviews i have read i likely never will be. I have been in and out of the restaurant business for over 50 years. Sounds like you need someone who knows what they are doing to help make a name for it. Who is running this place? Obviously noone that cares . I am in Sandy Cove and was this close to coming to your establishment. Here is what i know 1.Food is overpriced and small portions.2 Service could be better Food quality needs a lot of work- to say the least! Which one of you is turning away customers? You should have bare minimum 2 services per evening (full) always keep a table or two for walk ins. This place as excellent food! Great pasta, salads and apps. The atmosphere is nice as well but it ends there. The service is terrible. We have gone many times as the food keeps us coming back but the service is non existent. They forgot to bring things, never check on you, take forever for any request, don't offer more drinks. If you want something good luck finding your server they are hiding. I give it a 3* because of the food if they could fix the constant service problems this place would be a 5*. read more
