One of the popular restaurants at Friday Harbour. We made a reservation for 11 of us in advance but when we arrived, the hostess informed us that there was no reservation made. Quite a rough start to our dining experience here, since it was confirmed over the phone from their staff previously. After some back and forth, I assume it was the manager, made it work for us, and we sat on their patio/ outdoor area. The restaurant indoor looked super cozy and cute! The staff here and service onwards was great so it really made up for the first hiccup when we entered. Food was good as well with some hit or misses: Burrata 5/5 - Came with proscuitto. Great starter with the creamy burrata and salty proscuitto. Caesar salad 4/5 - Nothing too special and can probably skip on this dish. But if you like caesar salads, this is a good palette opener. Rucola e Pera 4/5 - A good baby arugula salad with pear, toasted walnuts, parm and lemon vinaigrette. Frittura misa 5/5 - Can't go wrong with fried seafood. This came with calamari, black tiger shrimp and a lemon aioli. Perfectly cooked and quite delicious. Penne ala vodka 4/5 - Penne with rose sauce. It's a good dish but have had better in Toronto restaurants. Fettuccine ai funghi 5/5 - Creamy fettuccine sauce with wild mushrooms. Couldn't really taste the white truffle oil here but it's a good sharing dish since it's quite heavy. Funghi pizza 5/5 - Again, couldn't taste any truffle on this dish but was still good. Calabrese pizza 5/5 - Always a favourite pizza flavour. I asked for some honey on the side which really elevated this pizza for me. Linguine allo scoglio 5/5 - Nice, fresh seafood pieces and a great cherry tomato sauce. Special: rabbit 4/5 - Got adventurous and tried the rabbit dish. It tasted kind of like chicken and was pretty tender. Overall, a great dining experience if you're at Friday Harbour. Probably one of the better restaurants in the area. read more

Food was good. But it was expensive. I get that it is a tourist place but I didn't like they kinda scammed us on the steak. The steak was a daily special. We didn't bother to ask about the price as we were expecting it to be around the price of other menu items or just a bit more. But it was $100!!!!! What!??? The most expensive dish on the menu was like $60. I totally did not expect the steak to be $100. I found it was outrageous. Service was friendly. Ambiance was nice. read more

Service and food is AAA+++. Staff are friendly and attentive. Our waiter Angelo was great at recommending the features of the day and it was all amazing. I recommend booking ahead if you plan to visit FH to not be disappointed! read more

Great selection of classically prepared Italian food with simple, quality ingredients and subtle flavours. Decent assortment of vegetarian options. Tried fresh baked focaccia, blistered kidney beans with rapini, gnocchi, zucchini pasta and the campagnolo white pizza (substituted olives for mushrooms). Great lunch on the patio overlooking the marina. read more

We have eaten here twice now and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. Although they were busy, the staff was very friendly and the food was really good. They didn't have the gnocchi but their penne a la vodka was delish. The dessert was outstanding read more

My recent experience at this restaurant at Friday harbour. We booked the table through open table via their website. We had a party of 13 and was unable to make the reservation so we made our own separate reservations. We later called and confirmed a large table to seat us a table outside. This review is for their lunch experience. Food: we ordered a variety of options and I can't say I was that impressed with any of the dishes. The crab burger was extremely dry and crumbly. The pizzas Americana and margarita was ok lacked much toppings and was mostly just burnt. The pasta penne a la vodka a Funghi pasta was only ok. The regular burger lacked toppings and juicy ness. They were accommodating on making our kids a simple plain tomato pasta that was ok. Didn't taste any better than canned pasta sauce. Service: what a terrible terrible place. Sorry but not sorry they were rude. We were on time and upon arrival we were told we can't have our seats outside because they were all booked up. So I said we have our table reserved as well and why we were promised outside and didn't get it? Then after we were treated like we can either take the table or they are more than willing to give it to someone else. I almost felt we were treated with a racist attitude. I certainly hope that wasn't the case. Overall: u can definitely skip this place! read more

Drove out to Friday Harbour on Sunday for an early dinner at Avenue and walk around the resort. First, ensure you have a reservation (I wouldn't anticipate this being a Covid only thing as it's busy during the peak season). Due to traffic, we were 30 minutes late - we called, they were very accommodating. Arrived, received a TERRIBLE table despite several 4 top tables still open (one comes for the view - our view was the wall) and from there everything went downhill pretty quickly. I'm giving the restaurant a single stars because the majority of the food was very tasty. Cocktails were watered down I returned my first drink, and ordered a mojito and it made with simple syrup vs any muddling of mint, etc. I suppose my expectations were a bit higher. 2/4 of us ordered one of their specials and then 10 minutes later, suddenly they were out of the fish my friend ordered. Portion sizes were decent (small for your normal Italian restaurant), service is on the slower side, general manager was very rude (she's the same GM for the Kleinburg location as well). The washrooms were out of order so you had to leave the restaurant, walk down to Starbucks and wait in line with the general public. You know when you're hangry and upon looking back, you question was it necessary to be so difficult? Well, upon leaving the table next to us; the lady had returned her fish (something wasn't satisfactory about it) and moments later she was going on because they had returned the exact same plate and fish to her table. This place will likely stay busy due to the Kleinburg affiliation and the location of the restaurant but while Friday Harbour will likely continue to explode with new options this restaurant may want to step up their game -- especially in the customer satisfaction category. Went with a group of friends. Service was really good, staff went out of their way to accommodate our large group, and they gave us enough time to enjoy our stay. However, the food was very disappointing! The pizza was the only thing that tasted good! Everything else was pretty disappointing. Oh Avenue...the food here is amazing. I have been many times. The octopus carpaccio was amazing, seafood pasta, garlic bread; my usual go-to. Unfortunately the staff is HORRIBLE. All are reigned in by a female manager who is THE rudest human I may ever have encountered. As you can see from the other reviews here, the staff just really is extremely rude. If you want some great food and don't mind being treated poorly then this is really the place to go. If you at any time comment or make any type of suggestion or complaint you will, in essence, be told you can leave. They truly do not care about you being their customer, about customer service, about your experience, or about treating you as a fellow human. You are there because they allowed you to be and they are doing you a favour by letting you eat their food. Its really too bad. Great food, nice decor. read more
