What makes Rundle Street Cibo special? As a person who stays away from coffee chains, this Cibo took a while to win me over. However, I finally had to accept that they do the best and most consistent coffee along the street. They only have a few, serious baristas, who greet customers from along the street by name. Their other staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient. Compared to its counterpart up on Rundle Mall, the Rundle St Cibo is a full-sized cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, and a great range of sweets and focacias. And gelati. Ohhhh the gelati. Their flavours are rich and strong, easily as good as Gelatissimo further up the street (though without as much variety). They regularly have new flavours - today I had the Mascapone & Nutella. YUM! There is also a new Lamington flavour. As I was drooling at the counter, one of the staff took pity on me and helped me decide by ladling out several testers. Not normally a fan of Lamington, I tried the proffered sample and thought it better than a standard Lammie. But then, everything is better in icecream form. I asked for a recommendation and he gave me a mouthful of the Roast Almond. Instant winner. It's rich and sweet, with lots of full roasted almonds throughout. I got the "tiny" (cheapest) size, and he kindly gave me two flavours rather than the regular one, so I tried the Bacio as well. Definitely one of the best Bacio flavours I've had in Adelaide - finally, they got the hazelnut to chocolate ratio just right. Too often the chocolate overpowers the hazelnut, but the flavour held its own here, helped by the whole hazelnuts scattered throughout. This is a great place for a quick coffee, thanks to their ever busy street window, as well as a good spot to sit down with something sweet.

    Mocha (doesn't come with chocolate)

A great place to grab a coffee on the go, or for a quick break. There are seats downstairs and upstairs. This location might be better at making coffee than some of the other cibo locations I've been to around the area.

Great place on a fine day, good coffee.

This a somewhat original and cool line of Cibo, situated in smack bang the middle of Rundle Street and also along Frome Road.

Needless to say it has haunted my dreams since, so today after a hard workout my husband and I biked over for lunch. The first thing that strikes you while approaching from Kitchener Street is the lush, inviting covered wrap around porch; there is plentiful and adequately spaced tables located here (so as not to be forced to overhear unwanted convos). Next, upon entering this clean and tidy cottage you will notice three separate distinct seating areas: the main dining area, a smaller dining area tucked away by the kitchen and pastry counter, and a delightful and welcoming covered deck. We were promptly greeted by one of the friendly staff and seated straight away. Tap water, glasses, and menus were waiting at the table and after an appropriate amount of time our order was taken and special requests confirmed. This place is really busy but it seems well managed; the staff is very attentive without being intrusive. As we waited for our order we noticed the bustling and efficient staff who worked like a well oiled machine - dirty dishes were quickly removed from tables, additional carafes of tap water were dropped off without being asked for, and patrons seemed relaxed, very happy, and satisfied. By meals' end we, too, were among those happy people. My husband ordered a sandwich that I struggle to recall the name ;( it was a hearty sandwich made from perfectly toasted sourdough, grilled chicken breast meat, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, a mix of tender and flavourful greens, and crispy bacon. I ordered the smashed avocado with feta on the same delightfully prepared sourdough. It, too, came with a generous portion of greens. We could not be happier with our newfound neighbourhood brekkie place. AND there is a coffee loyalty card to boot!

You couldn't add Kale even though one dish had it and the outdoor area had a strong bad smell. Still the coffee was great and the juice and food was good. My partner didn't like hers but I would come back and try again.

A large Venue decorated in modern decor, and some space outdoors for groups. Love the booths in the far back corner. The staff are super friendly here. As soon as you walk in you are greeted and seated. At all times you feel welcomed and you know that you will be looked after. I love a all day breakfast menu. I saw a picture of the gin cured trout and knew that was what I had to order before I arrived. It was just so pretty! I was right, it was almost to pretty to eat. I couldn't bare digging into it without taking a few snaps. The trout was cured well. I feel like it could have been cured a little longer to have a deeper flavour. Maybe more salt and sugar was needed. But, that does not mean that it was not tasty! It was really lovely. The egg was poached well, crème fraîche was a great edition and lifted the dish. An added surprise was the sea greens. I really loved them. I think that not many people are used to them, but they are really tasty. The carrots were nice, but felt a little out of place. I think what the dish needed was a sauce. The crème fraîche was great, but something with a deeper flavour or seasoning. The rest of the menu looked great! I look forward to test more items. In fact, be sure to try out the coffee. I think we may have another great coffee destination in Adelaide. They offer a couple of filter options and cold drip. I am looking forward to watch how this business develops!

I can't tell you the number of coffee places I have been to in Adelaide that "close" at 5, but you can't get a coffee after 4:30 because the help are cleaning up to close. Here, the reply was a big grin and, "Sure mate-would you like anything else with that?" The barista then proceeded to make me a great latte (and obviously used equipment that had been cleaned for the evening shut down). I was attending a workshop around the corner and had had a long day-I was in desperate need of a good coffee. I can only describe my first visit here as like those RAA commercials where a knight in shining armour rescues you. I have since been back many times over the last three years and I have noticed that they always treat me the same-great coffee and cheerful service. Another thing I have noticed is that most of the employees have been there a long time too. I think that says a lot about an establishment. I know boutique coffee houses are popular (I like them anyway), but I am always happy to find a chain store that does a quality job. They are located in the lobby of the Calvary Wakefield Hospital and have extended hours. They've never failed me-I doubt they'll fail you. Oh, you can tell by my reviews, I drink a LOT of coffee....... Eat drink and be merry, but not too much. JD

I also find the prices not worth paying for the quality and quantity received. Great improvement is definitely needed, and soon!
