Great restaurant all around. Feels like a fancy NY Italian restaurant tucked away in MB. You get good Italian bread and walnut infused pesto to dip it in for the table. I had the Zuppa di Pesce which you can get spicy or regular. I got it spicy and all the seafood was just cooked perfect. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs and enjoyed it. The kiddos shared pizza and penne, they had no complaints. We'll definitely be back. read more

The experience was lovely! The ambiance is romantic and classy, the lights were dimmed and the decor is lovely. Our server was attentive and had some good suggestions. We ordered a bottle of reisling. The bread and dip was yummy. I ordered the spinach and walnut ravioli based on the server's suggestion, and was mildly disappointed, I feel like the sauce didn't have much flavor to it. Honestly the food wasn't bad at all, but it's not something I would go back to eat again. The service was pretty fast and good, we had a great waiter. Our biggest con was the ambience. It was very nice and dark, but we were seated really close to other people which we didn't love at all. Another thing was it was extremely dull. It wasn't as lively as we were expecting (as we are more of a vivacious group) but it was decent. Overall I would say it's about half and half. It depends what you're in the mood for. If you want something SPECTACULAR to eat there are much better options. Highly recommend Sea Captain's house. read more

Halibut was fishy and bland. Waitress said caught fresh that day, but I'm a local and we don't have Halibut in our warm waters. Halibut should have no fishy taste and be a bit sweet. It was cooked well, but not tasty. Spinach was good. Bus boy kept coming to look at table to see if we were finished when my friend was clearly half way done with her meal. Outrageous taxes on liquor 16.5%. Not a good experience for me. Ambiance not great as we were seated in a booth in the bar even with reservations. read more

Really good food in a quaint little place that doesn't crowd you together. The food is prepared traditionally so it may not fit your diet,if your on one. The food was so great that you just don't bother counting the points. Our waitress was fantastic and the service quick. Price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity provided. As an Italian food lover, this place was recommended by the hotel. They said it was one of the locals favorites, well I can certainly see why. From the time you walk in and smell those Italian meals cooking, it's just a treat. It's just a small place But very nice. The service was excellent the young lady was very attentive. And I will say I just had spaghetti and meatballs and a salad but it was some of the best sauce I have ever eaten. Have eaten at Ciao before. This was a return visit. Firstly, when making the online reservation, was asked was this a celebration of any kind. I checked off anniversary. Why did they ask? It was not acknowledged in any way. We were on time for our reservation and seated right away in the tastefully decorated dining room. Our waiter, Morgan, was prompt and efficient, also friendly. When asked about drinks , I indicated I hadn't reviewed the wine list yet. He stood there while I did. I should have asked him to give me a few minutes. My bad. We did not order appetizers. We were served bread with pesto oil. Delicious! My husband had a house salad which he enjoyed- fresh, crisp and plentiful. I had the basil tomato soup which was very good although could have been a bit warmer. Our entrees came to the table before our salad/soup dishes were removed which I think was a faux pas. Our entrees were served - both veal dishes and delicious. Atmosphere and good very good. I just think our waiter was looking to get us out as quickly as possible. read more

I came here to have dinner with my husband around 6 PM so it was not busy and I was on a Tuesday. The food was really good but the waitress took a very long time with my credit card. It made me feel uneasy and I should've asked her why she took so long to process our bill. Today I woke up and had a message from my American Express that there are fraud charges and that restaurant was the only place that I used it recently. Other than this craziness, the food was good, but now I am not sure I will go back unless I paying with cash. read more

I wrote Ciao a personal note We had been many times They never responded I had two apps for my dinner The mussels were in a lack luster broth but the worse was over a third did not open!!! They saw this as I pointed out to our server to show the kitchen. I had the eggplant parm as my main It was DROWNING in tomato sauce and the eggplant tasted over fried . Our friend had this as her first She was sick on way home and I later that pm felt very queasy and nauseated!!! They did nothing about correcting the mussels price !! Disappointed is not enough of a title. We asked around Myrtle Beach for a good Italian, and several locals recommended Ciao; so we made a reservation and headed there with high expectations...what a disappointment! I should have listened to my gut when the unfriendly hostess looked us down at the front desk! The menu looks good and the wine and cocktail list are very appealing, so we ordered a drink before ordering the food. As we ordered an appetizer, an entree and a side dish to share, we were informed, they charge $8,50 for sharing a plate ( never saw this practice in my more than 50 years of eating out in many places around the world!). The warm ciabatta was great; the accompanying pesto olive oil was ok. I was excited to order the "surf and turf" carpaccio, but it was a disaster of smoked salmon and cooked sliced meat, your read that right: cooked carpaccio!!! The Manicotti was nothing more than super thick undercooked pasta filled with unsavory ricotta and the meatball had the taste of low cost/ second class beef. We left most of the food and ordered the check, the server was gracious enough to remove the sharing plate charge, maybe the only good thing at this place was the server. In conclusion; if I could give negative points, I would. Never again; ciao, Ciao. read more

Recommended the Shrimp & Sausage Palermo...wow! D-Lish!!! The atmosphere was awesome too! A must when you are in town @ Myrtle Beach, this coming from a born and raised Chicago City boy. This restaurant is a hidden gem. It looks unassuming, stuck inside a strip mall. The decor is simple and very clean. The food was absolutely incredible. I ordered the lobster ravioli- the filling was so smooth and the sauce was truly mouth-watering. I used the delicious house baked bread to sop up every last drop. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert. I almost ordered a second plate- it was that wonderful. Overall- highly recommend!!! read more

We went for lunch at 1:00. It was not crowded at all. Mussels were sweet and plentiful! Lasagna and Manicotti had homemade pasta and sauce was perfect! Not acidic...sweetness was just right. Clean and tastefully decorated. Bre our waitress was pleasant and knew her menu well. Oh I almost forgot..The bread was amazing. We had lunch but she told us to come. Additionally, we had two servers and one was great. The other one was so nice but he disappeared and we didn't see him again until we were leaving. No waters refilled, no checking in. Confused by this. So if you plan to go, call ahead and make sure the A/C is working. If so, it would probably be worth going esp. if you have a smaller party. read more

We stopped at Chow on Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach because our friend Forest is a bartender there. It was our first experience and we enjoyed it very much. We sat at the bar for happy hour and enjoyed several different options including their meatballs mushroom ravioli and my personal favorite the steamed mussels with fra Diavlo sauce. The cocktails were also very good and of course the bartender was amazing and very attentive. We met the owner who is behind the bar washing drying and stacking glasses which I found to be a very unique quality in an owner. You will definitely make more stops to Chow and I would recommend this to both tourists and residents that live in the area read more

Dinner was scrumptious... Very authentic Italian food. Growing up in Brooklyn I can appreciate a fine Italian restaurant this one definitely doesn't disappoint. To top it all, the waiter we had, "Jacob" was only 21 years old but you would've thought he had been waiting tables all of his life.... Jacob made an already fabulous meal that much better. Did you ever wondered if there is a hidden gem foodie haven in Myrtle Beach? Yes there is such a place! Extensive wine list, Frank Sinatra playing in the background. Lovely bar menu, appetizers were all delicious ...especially the charcuterie board! For meals we had the zuppe de pesce which was served on a huge platter incredible amount of food and so delicious! We also sampled the eggplant Parmesan, the chicken marsala, and the cheese ravioli with meatballs on the side. My family has been traveling to Myrtle Beach at least once a year, for the last 25 years. We have our regular placed we like to eat, and Ciao was always one we had heard of, but never tried. We decided to give it. Try this trip, and we cannot believe we waited so long! I had the spaghetti carbonara, which was a creamy, indulgent pasta dish. Shortly after bringing dinners, our waitress reminded us of the fresh desserts that were available, so my dad and I saved some room. I ordered the tiramisu, which was the BEST I've ever had! Our waitress was outstanding! She kept our drinks and bread basket full, and was highly attentive to our needs. She had a deep understanding of the menu, and helped us to make the best decision. She also gave us some ideas for other local restaurants to try out for next year! We will most definitely be returning to Ciao on our next beach trip! read more

I can't rave enough about Ciao! My best friend and I go there often as a treat. Food is impeccable. The atmosphere is moody and inviting. Our favorite is the stuffed mushroom appetizer. Do yourself a favor and use your bread to dip in the sauce served with the mushroom. It is *chef's kiss* the perfect way to start your meal there. The service can be slightly hit or miss just depending on your server, however, do not let that sway you from trying this gem of a place. Small dining area so reservations are recommended. read more

I will say the food had good taste and the service was decent. My wife had the Spinach & walnut ravioli. She was very pleased with it. I had the Spaghetti Calamari. The sauce had a nice taste however the calamari had the texture of a rubber band. Another words overcooked. IF we ever go back I will not order that again. read more
