Very casual, local vibe going on here. Service exceeded our expectations. The woman that helped us was phenomenal. We started with the brushetta and the fresh mutz with tomatoes. Both were fresh and very well done. More than enough to share amongst the table. We did have two orders of garlic bread as well to fill the gap. For dinner, I went with the Linguini with white clam sauce. Linguini was cooked close to al dente. Clams and sauce was very good. Evident that it was not sitting around for awhile My wife got the eggplant parm which I was able to try and that was a solid option that I could've went with as well. Our son went with the Chicken Denise and once again, I snuck a taste and equally as tasty in its own way as it was cooked in a wine based sauce. Dessert, we went with cannolis and I went with the Lemoncello marscapone mousse cake which was excellent. Especially if you're a fan of Lemoncello. When your passing by or looking for a good meal and in the area, this one is worth giving a shot.

We were able to go on a Saturday evening without a reservation, which is great. We arrived at about 6 PM. We were quickly seated and our server Ivy was awesome. She was very helpful with recommendations, and the food was absolutely delicious and well worth the price.

Food: must go for the mussels or really anything with the white wine garlic sauce. Never had a bad bite there, worth a visit. Service: very friendly and professional. Very attentive. Ambiance: pretty classy, wine wall is really cool.

There's plenty of places to eat in the area, but Benny's is without a doubt one of the best! The atmosphere is very nice without feeling too stuffy or "fancy." Our server Leanne was extraordinary! She was very friendly, helpful, and very attentive to our table's needs. The food was excellent! I ordered the scallops a la vodka and it was one of the best Italian meals I've ever had. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the sauce was amazing stellar! They also make a great espresso martini made with freshly extracted espresso.

Our second visit and even better than our first visit. The veal chop was super. The Chicken Parm was great. The salads did not disappoint. We were fortunate enough to sit at the bar with Carry Ann serving as our bartender and serving our food. She offered great suggestions and guidance around the menu. Fantastic service and made us feel at home. Benny's is definitely a hidden gem in North Myrtle Beach.

I quite liked the atmosphere, food and service here. We arrived shortly after opening on a Monday and were seated quickly. More people started to flow in about 5PM or just after, but it stayed quiet and never got too packed. I've never seen menus that lit up when you open them, but they have them here. Plain bread loaf is included, but we opted to pay $1.99 for garlic bread. For our meals we got the Chicken Saltimbocca and Stuffed Shells. I don't recall ever getting chicken Saltimbocca before, and have nothing to compare it to. But, I can tell you, I enjoyed it. The stuffed shells are standard fare which I've had many times and those were as good as it gets. One thing you must do is try the dessert! The snickers pie is AMAZING. And while I didn't take a photo of the limoncello cake, that too was AMAZING. Our server was very nice and attentive. She gave us a fresh loaf of garlic bread to go--no charge! Hidden gem I recommend you visit.

My server was fab! They have backlit menus-how clever!!! So no pulling out the phone and ruining the ambiance with bright light. Pasta wine and tiramisu were all delizioso! Grazie! Made me feel welcome as a single diner... thanks again!

Numerous tables and booths available for seating, as well as the bar. And outside dining is also an option. Prices & portions seem reasonable. This place appears to get quite busy and also looks to have many regulars. Family-owned- European and Northern Italian influence. We came on a Saturday night, shorty before close, so we were able to get two seats at the bar. Our bartender was extremely attentive throughout our visit. Complementary bread is provided. Comes with a nice oil and garlic blend. Ordered the Bucatini Puttanesca & Spaghetti with Italian Sausage. These come with a dinner salad or up grade to a Caesar for $2 more (which I did). Both salads were fresh and delicious. I will say one of the best caesar dressings I've had. The pasta, presentation was lovely. The flavors bland, tomato sauce (tastes straight from the can) had no additional spices present and the pasta way over cooked. Seems their noodles are pre-cooked and Al Dente then is just not possible. This is another reason why the rating was just below average. Really disappointing. Would not be a place we would revisit.

The owner stopped by our table multiple times. He and our waitress were so nice to our son, who I think was the only kid the in the restaurant. They explained how the food was made, making it overly clear how much care went in to everything they brought out. Their bruschetta bread and rolls are both made in house - and everyone loved them. I'm gluten free and they were able to accommodate with multiple multiple options. The menu had stars next to all the options they could make gluten free and it was SO NICE to have so many options. Old school. Proper. The sort of spot where you mind your business and enjoy your meal, because whatever's going on across the room is none of your concern. They don't waste time getting you sorted either. Straight into it with a soup to start, name escapes me but I can still taste it clear as day. Silky, rich, proper comforting stuff. The kind that makes you stop mid sentence and give a little nod of approval. Then the homemade rolls arrive, warm, soft, and dangerously good. You tell yourself one and done, but let's be honest, that's never how it goes. For the entrée, I stayed loyal. Chicken Alfredo. My go to whenever I'm sizing up an Italian spot. And mate, this one delivered in full. Creamy without being over the top, seasoned just right, and put together like someone in the back takes real pride in what they're doing. No shortcuts, no funny business. The lady went for the trio, chicken, shrimp, veal, the full works. A confident order and she was well pleased, which tells you everything you need to know. Portion sizes? Exactly as they should be. Generous without being ridiculous. We gave it a proper go, waved the white flag halfway through, and still had a tidy bit left to take back to the condo. Arguably just as good the second time round. And then there's the service. Shoutout Sammi. Absolute star. Made a couple from Texas feel like regulars on their third visit. Attentive without hovering, sharp without being stiff. Just how it should be. Some places serve food. This place gives you a proper evening. Five stars. Locked in.

Nick is an absolute legend!…read more We came to Portofino not knowing what to expect, and we left completely blown away -- and honestly, a huge part of that was our waiter, Nick. This guy is on another level. From the moment we sat down, Nick's energy, knowledge, and genuine passion for hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. He wasn't just taking our order -- he was curating an experience. Now let's talk about the Cacio e Pepe -- insanely good doesn't even begin to cover it. It was perfectly executed: silky, bold, with just the right bite of pepper. Classic done right. But you know what made it taste even better? Nick. He recommended it with such confidence and enthusiasm that we had to order it, and he absolutely delivered. Nick was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and just an all-around fantastic human being. He made us feel like VIP guests from start to finish -- checking in at exactly the right moments, offering spot-on suggestions, and keeping the whole experience flowing effortlessly. If you go to Portofino, you absolutely should ask for Nick by name. He is the kind of server that reminds you why going out to dinner is supposed to be a special occasion. It said that they were open every day from 11 to 11 however we arrived and found out this was false. We showed up around 12:30 and saw that their hours on their front door were different than the ones they had listed on Apple Maps. This was very disappointing since we had not eaten and traveled an hour just to eat there. We decided to go hungry and burn a few hours until they opened at four. When we came back at 4:05 we noticed there was a line outside the door and it was because they had not opened yet. We were very confused and thought maybe they were closed altogether for the holidays or something. They ended up letting us all in around 4:08 and told us that they cook did not show up. So it looked like there were only two bartenders that were actually there to open the place. They told us they could serve us drinks, but no food... At this point, we were starving and so disheartened that we had waited all this time and we weren't even going to be able to eat! We decided to sit down and wait and see if the cook ever showed up, he never did. The bartender decided to take our order and was going to try to prepare the food himself. My mom tried to order a sub, but he said he was only gonna be making pizzas. So my mom got a pepperoni pizza. I got a cheese pizza and it came out great, it was very delicious. Even warmed up great as leftovers the next day. Was almost even better a day later. I appreciate them for making it work and serving the customers to the best of their ability given their circumstances. I would give it five stars if their hours had been correctly displayed on maps and if the cook had showed up to the restaurant. The Christmas decor was wonderful. this would've been a great experience. Had everything played out differently. I do hope to be able to come back next year around Christmas and hopefully a cook will show up that day. Haha
