If you haven't been to Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, are you even living, or are you just hydrating?…read moreThe Vibe: Industrial Liquor Chic Walking in is like entering a high-end heist movie set in a warehouse. It's Liquor Chic at its absolute zenith. The environment is an incredible, sprawling treasure hunt where every turn of a corner reveals a new liquid trophy. It's gritty, it's authentic, and it smells like ambition and oak barrels. The Selection: A Local & Global Masterclass * The Wine & Beer: They don't just carry "local" wines; they curate the very soul of Sonoma and Napa. The beer selection is a hop-heavy odyssey that makes other shops look like they're selling juice boxes. * The Bubbles: The Sparkling and Champagne section? Pure fabulousness. Whether you're celebrating a promotion or just surviving a Tuesday, they have the effervescence to match your ego. * The Hard Stuff: The Bourbon selection is a deep, amber-hued dream. The specialty liquors and Tequilas? It's a curated library of botanical brilliance and agave excellence. If it's rare, it's here. If it's legendary, it's probably on the end-cap. The Human Element The staff here aren't just "employees." They are Liquid Scholars. These wizards possess a level of knowledge that borders on the supernatural. Ask them about a remote vineyard in the Russian River Valley or the mash bill of an obscure rye, and they'll give you a dissertation with a smile. The Merch And just when you think you've seen it all--the T-shirts. Yes, you can literally wear the brand. Nothing says "I have impeccable taste and a well-stocked cellar" like a Bottle Barn tee. Final Verdict: 11/10. I came for a bottle of Zin and left with a trunk full of treasures, a new appreciation for French bubbles, and a shirt that makes me look like a local legend. Bottle Barn isn't a store; it's a lifestyle.

We dropped a C Note on the St George Single Malt. Since we can't find it anywhere, it was an immediate grab. We also got a new Danish Mead which we can't wait to open at our Viking Yule Fest. We also picked up some aquavit and a nice Pinot and some craft beer. Get this, the beer was put in the can a mere 3 weeks ago. Lots of help - you look a little lost and someone is instantly next to you. So Much Wine, Bubbles, whatever you might be jonesing, for you got it, things for mixing there too. People are so nice in the store. If you see a big guy with a beard and a nice smile - be super nice to him. If his name is Aaron, you have found the guy who shopped there for 20 years before he ever worked there. He knows everything. Give him a high five and tell him Yoko sent you!

Easy access right off the square with great indoor and outdoor seating and fantastic service and a cozy setting. Great menu-we ordered Taco salads, enchiladas, tacos, and margaritas--all delicious. Note: wonderful rice!

We visited Arandas in Healdsburg for happy hour, and while it was a little tricky to find at first,…read moreit ended up being worth the effort. The restaurant is located inside a hotel -- you walk through the front doors, past the lobby, and you're there -- but the signage isn't very obvious from the outside. Luckily, someone noticed us looking around and kindly came out to ask if we were looking for Arandas, which was super helpful and welcoming. We ordered a couple of drinks and two appetizers from the happy hour menu. The birria tacos came with consomé and were absolutely delicious -- tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The chips and cheese, on the other hand, weren't my favorite. The flavor was fine, but the cheese hardened quickly after cooling, which made it less of a dip and more of a sheet of melted cheese. My husband enjoyed it more than I did, but I personally prefer a more sauce-like queso for dipping. The service was excellent -- attentive without being overbearing -- and the overall atmosphere felt like an upscale Mexican restaurant with a warm, polished vibe. The happy hour drink prices were also fantastic, especially for Healdsburg. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu next time -- great spot for drinks, small bites, and friendly service in a stylish setting.

If you are looking for the absolute best in Sonoma County for high-end foodstuffs, look no further…read more Big John's Market is essentially a pilgrimage site for anyone who takes their pantry seriously. The store is beautifully laid out and curated with an eye for quality that puts most 'gourmet' chains to shame. The produce is consistently stunning, and the local wine selection perfectly reflects the best of our backyard (Dry Creek, Alexander Valley, and beyond). The standouts: * The Deli/Prepared Goods: This is the heart of the operation. The sandwiches are legendary, the pizza is artisanal-grade, and the prepared salads are actually fresh and inventive--not just an afterthought. * The Cheese Section: Simply sublime. It is clear whoever curates this section has a deep passion for local creameries and international classics alike. * The Experience: Despite the high-end inventory, the staff is incredibly friendly and grounded. Plus, in a town like Healdsburg, having a lot with decent parking is a massive luxury that makes the trip even easier. Whether you're stocking up for a dinner party or just grabbing the best lunch in town, this place is the gold standard.
