We first came here a number of years ago and Taddei Wines is still a favorite! This Tasting Room is a must for those who love and truly appreciate wine! You'll have the added benefit of speaking directly with the wine maker, Chris Taddei, who shares his knowledge and passion of the wines he creates. On our first visit during the tasting, Chris came out with his plastic beaker with a blend he just created from the barrels, and it was just so cool to get his time and attention educating us on wine. All of the wines from the whites to the reds are delicious, which is a key reason to become a club member which I believe I did on that first visit--every shipment is fantastic! Periodically there are sales on wine, which are super good, low prices and the pick up parties are fun, leisurely events with amazing food! There is a shaded outside spot to do a tasting when the weather is nice as well as inside seating to lounge and sample wine. It is easy to lose track of time when focusing on the wine, I must admit. But this isn't a place where you breeze through, quickly sample the list and move onto the next Tasting Room. If you love wine, you'll want to take the time to find your own favorite!

It also feels good to be supporting local winemakers with exceptional wines instead of corporations. Like almost all wineries and tasting rooms, it's very important to schedule your tasting in advance. We made an appointment in advance and did a wine tasting with Stringer Cellars. We sat down in their beautiful tasting room and were both blown away by all of their wines! They were all exceptional and we loved every one of the wines that we tried! On their website it says that their winemaking approach incorporates curiosity, grit, integrity, science, but most importantly the never ending pursuit of making great wine. We found that to be very true! It was an intimate experience to taste wines with the winemaker and it was a very educational experience as well. We loved learning about each of the wines, the wine making process, and the different wine regions where the grapes were grown. We were also able to tour the facility and it was an all around amazing experience! When you walk into Grand Cru there are wines showcased from the different wineries that provide wine tastings there so you can shop around and choose a bottle from a different winery if you would like to try out different wines as well. We absolutely loved this experience and will definitely be back!

The food pairings were delicious at the event and as you walk into the garage in its industrial area you see several tables with wines on them. At the first table is K.C. McC. Whom is as famous wine judge and is in the wine scene here in the wine county of Sonoma!! She's a big deal but doesn't act like it. She greets me with his sparkling wine which is a Sparkling of Rose' of Sangiovese which is exquisite as in I'm getting more flavors of yeast and bread dough than the fruit which is good and subtle! Hints of wild strawberry and raspberry, and notes of marmalade, orange zest, dried cranberry, and toasted bread then we moved on down to the next table in the back right corner of the room and this is where I tasted the Pinot Noir and I gave it a rating of 3.8/5.0. This Pinot tastes like it needs time to come together! It's good and tasty just lacking some elements. I get cherry cola, some earthiness, forest floor and maybe some raspberry flavors! Then we tasted his Barbera and here are my notes and I rated this one a 4.3/5.0 Wow this Colagrossi Barbera is excellent it has flavors of berry jam bramble cassis, olive tapenade, cherry, cranberry, white pepper, charcoal, cocoa, crushed rocks, graphite, and ground coffee. And after that we had his Alexander Valley Cabernet which I have given a 4.4 at a high and as low as a 4.2/5.0 Colagrossi's Alexander Valley Cabernet hits me immediately with the classic flavor profile of Cabernet with blackberry, black and red currant, cassis, a bit of blueberry and a touch of raspberry kind of like a huckleberry. The level sweet blueberry and the sour flavor of raspberry and some wildness in there! There's some eucalyptus in here which gives it an above 4.0 score! Which is great for this delicious Cab! And then we had his Vino Rossi which is like a Beautiful Super Tuscan style wine with Cabernet Franc is the first grape listed and then Sangiovese and then Cabernet Sauvignon for the close. And it's a NV! So I tasted a considerably smooth harmonious wine. With low acidity and soft tannins but they're there! And I'm getting blackberry jam, raspberry, and cherry, dried strawberry, and plums, sage, tobacco and old leather, and some rose petals! And paired with some cheese. Delicious. Then we were served his Petite Sirah and I rated the PS another 4.2 the same as I gave the Vino Rossi but this Petite Sirah Ok so this Colagrossi Petite Sirah is exceptionally smooth as if they pulled the tannins out but I think he must micro-ox his wines to get rid of them! And I'm getting blackberry, blueberry and cherry and it's genuinely low acidity and it's brewing like macerated berries and tobacco and leather some black pepper! And then we tasted his Montepulcano and Colagrossi's Montepulcano is a young and refreshing red wine with good acidity and fruit with flavors of Blackberry pie filling with blueberry preserves, black plum, thyme, baking spice and chocolate! And it is delicious!! Then the main stain, aka Tatiana came over to talk to me about my case purchase while we nibbled at a dessert treat. And she said welcome here and what do you want and I said I want all of them. She gave me a phenomenal discount on the case and we left but I am reminded of that time at Colagrossi's winery every time I choose wine for the night!!

The focus is on Italian varietals and blends, and I didn't taste anything I wouldn't have bought a bottle of (and, in fact, did actually join the club). Pricing is not cheap -- in the $40/50 a bottle range -- but it's high end quality, too. THE STAFF: Friendly, informed, efficient. But, really, the star of the show is Craig Colagrossi, the owner. He is the most cheerful, helpful, kind, passionate sort of guy you could meet. We mentioned the winery at other locations in the Windsor area and beyond, and in every case they were, "Oh, Craig helped me when I was getting started, he's such a cool guy." Not that you should buy wine because the winemaker's a nifty person, but it certainly makes the experience a lot more fun. THE PLACE: Sorry, this isn't a "rolling fields and sunny verandas" sort of place -- more of a "here's the sales/tasting room, here's the warehouse, business park" sort of place. And that's okay! Everything was comfortable and friendly, and there are plenty of other places nearby to eat, or taste from, if you want to park and walk. It's all nice visit. OVERALL: I like all their wines. I like all their people. I joined the club. If you dare risk that, definitely visit.

The wines we tasted were excellent, and we did buy a bottle or three - but you do that anywhere you go. What makes this a special visit was how we felt, that is - special! Our pup was welcomed and they invited us to enjoy our picnic lunch on the patio (come mid-week when there are less crowds!) and enjoyed our time talking to the hostess, who was very sweet, and the wonderful tasting room experience. An added bonus was the walking path ( you will see the sign when you pull in the driveway) that had a greenway and a special events location. This was in addition to the beautiful grounds around the tasting room, which has a wonderful history as a barn, a home and now tasting room(s). We will make a point of coming back when we come back west again!

We were shown to our table and they offered us some time to walk the grounds, garden and view the lake. They said we could spend more time after lunch, viewing the rest of the property. The garden was beautiful. Lots of herbs and flowers, with labels. The restaurant itself was gorgeous. Wood. High ceilings. Nice decor. Our server seemed pretty new. He made a few errors throughout, but that did not significantly deter from our experience. It was really neat that the chef came out with every pairing and explained each course. We never felt rushed. There was plenty of wine. The food was exquisite. We ended up buying a few bottles of wine and even though I filled out the shipping information and told the server my preferred vendor was ups over FedEx because I have an account - he managed to bring our bottles of wine all bagged up, to our table. Yikes. We were curious about the pizza oven upon arrival. We saw it and hoped for pizza but they did not have that on the lunch pairing menu. So after we finished our scheduled lunch, it was pretty slow there, so we asked if we could stay and order more food. Our server brought the menu for us (after our third request) and we ordered a pizza and the fries which basically stated on the menu that they were the best fries you've ever had. Well, I can attest that they are not. Yes, they are shoestring fries for you lovers out there. But also, they're not a step too far from McDonald's. So that's all. Not the best of my life. Not life changing. Just like McDonald's. But the pizza was good. Unfortunately I had asked if it was red sauce and was given a yes answer. But you can see the pizza doesn't have any red sauce on it at all. I probably would've ordered a different one, if I was properly informed. Also, I asked for no balsamic glaze and of course it came with balsamic glaze. Yet another error. Whatever. I'm not sure what's up with people who swear by balsamic? Keep it off my bruschetta, it doesn't belong there. And don't put it on Brussels sprouts either. Yuck. Too much sugar and it's not necessary. On the pizza, it was fine, but not my preference. But it probably saved the pizza because there a was NO SAUCE. Anyhow- their little gift shop area is super cute and I perused the items. Also- they have a shelf of board games! How fun! It would be great to come by, get some light bites, a ton of wine, and play games and take a walk to enjoy the property. It's such a gorgeous place. I would recommend this place. The lunch and wine pairing was expensive, but the food was superior quality. The wine here is great. We did not become members but I can see why people do. Their Sauvignon blanc was one of my faves, so that was two of the bottles we purchased. Our order was eventually packaged and sent to us, via FedEx, not UPS, and was in good shape upon arrival.
