Dazzle dry manicure didn't even last 24 hours. They very graciously redid my nails the next day and they chipped not even 10 hours later. I was staying at a hotel so no dishwashing or anything crazy. They are either not certified in dazzle dry or something is wrong with their product because I've used dazzle dry for years and have never had this issue. Very disappointed that I'll now need to spend money to get my nails redone just two days later. read more

Everyone who worked there was extremely nice and talented. I called for a last minute acrylic refill and they shaped my nails perfectly and executed the design just to my liking. Right off the bat, Frances was so welcoming. This was a soft opening, but I saw reviews on Google, so I thought I'd give it a shot, as I was not happy with where I was going. This place is awesome! It's so clean and they really take care of you. First off. Full bar. Secondly, John (Gel X nails) and Ashley (pedi) were awesome! I felt welcome and valued (Frances will keep checking on you to make sure you're ok). The quality of service is top notch! I cannot recommend this nail salon enough! Vicky and her staff are the absolute best. I came here on a whim last November to get my nails done for my birthday. Part of the reason I picked this spot was 1) I was in the neighborhood getting lunch with a friend 2) it had great reviews and 3) the salon had my name in it. I told Vicky tonight that I almost took my nails off this week because I'm trying to break the addiction but I just keep coming back! She chuckled, and when she was done with my nails she said "See you in 2 weeks?". I drive from Potrero Hill to this salon, when there's a nail salon a few blocks away from me. I came in for a polish change and a nice young man (a first for me!) did the most amazing job on my toes. He was so gentle and precise and the polish was done beautifully!!! The prices are also very reasonable when I feel like other salons are starting to get ridiculous (down the street $20 for a polish change?!) Prob worst nail experience I've had in a long time in sf. My nail place was too busy so ventured here. The lady did a great job on my nails but the girl doing my Pedi was so awful. Basically soaked my feet then painted my nailed . 2 second gentle scrub didn't do my cuticles really and the massage was so lackluster I didn't remeber having one ... she had to repaint my big toe three times then when I got home I realized my toes look terrible and I have my engagement shoot in 2 days. I walked in with no appointment and was treated like royalty! No negative preliminary comments or anything! The staff is quiet and very respectful. You are not held hostage and forced to listen to them as they do your nails and they ask no personal questions. Their primary concern is to make you happy and they will go the extra mile to accommodate you with your specific requests. I felt relaxed and cared for. Decent pricing for the Marina! The young man is very gentle and leaves my cuticles alone! No walking wounded here! I came in today to reshape my nails and get rid of Nail Today Salon's nail shaping which I did not ask for. Came here last Friday for a manicure. The prices are very reasonable. $12 for a manicure, $20 for a pedicure, and $30 for mani/pedi. They had 4 people working that day and usually have more on the weekends. The service was good and they took me within 5 minutes of walking in while another salon wanted me to wait 40 minutes. It's hit or miss here. Sometimes they do a good job, other times they don't. Also, some of the staff can be very rude, moody, and rough handed. I used to like this place and keep coming back because of familiarity but they've really downgraded their skills/ customer service (isn't that the job?!). Honestly, would never come back. First they charged me 4$ for choosing a color that is supposed to last longer. Never did they mention there was a difference in price for their colors. I'm sure you could find a more detailed manicure but I think mine looks great and it was only $8. Terrible. Their nail polish is old and goes on stripey and uneven. They didn't care and were going to let me walk out with it like that and pay? It's really tough to find a nail place that refreshes their polish instead of adding a bunch of thinners and has an old shelf life. There was a wait as the place was packed so I leisurely picked out my color and read through a magazine. Then I sat in a comfy chair and soaked my feet. Unfortunately the massage chair activates for an extra $2 so I didn't use it. Even though there was a running wait list I did not feel rushed and stayed in my chair til my feet dried. Pros: - Got in without a reservation. - Good selection of gel polish. - Reasonably priced ($65 for gel mani/pedi) - I'm used to paying $80. Cons: - Sloppy, inconsistent work. The paint on my nails is uneven. - Like others described, the bowls are unlined for pedicures and the instruments appear to be unsterile. - I was in that chair for 90 mins for a mani/pedi. 90 mins! - When the gel polish was inadvertently painted on my cuticles (which leads to premature peeling) it was CUT OFF instead of lightly filed. - A lot of unnecessary attitude - I asked for plastic sandwich bags for my feet since I was wearing tennis shoes and I was initially rebuffed. Hmm, That's really cheap. We got there on time / service on time but now it was $65 .. Weird. I got my nails done very fast I was done in 35-40 min ( no hand massage if u want a neck massage u can get one for extra money) same night my nails started to fall apart .. They greet you by name at the door and everything is very COVID safe! I had an extensive injury to my right foot that happened in June and finally got the approval to receive my first pedicure since. Oh, Chestnut Street, land of the $20 mani/pedi. Why did I cheat on my beloved Hand/Touch, directly across the street from the charmingly named Ciao Bella? Boredom, I guess that's why we stray. I could see Hand/Touch from my seat at Ciao Bella (where the charm begins and ends with the name). And I felt guilty, indeed for cheating. And then stupid, too, as the dispirited staff proceeded to tend to my digits. The woman in charge of my feet never once looked me in the eye. No hello, no do you want me to cut or file, etc. etc. She did a pretty good job, actually. And I'm sure her job sucks. But c'mon. The nice chatty gal in charge of my hands didn't do a very good manicure at all. Chipping ensued shortly after, my cuticles are a mess. I think the problem is nobody appears to be really in charge at Ciao Bella, whereas at Hand/Touch one of the owners is always on site, and the same person must train the technicians there because they all do consistently great work. read more

Awful. Best way to explain my experience here. I came in early on a Saturday morning and asked to get both my manicure and pedicure at the same time, that was issue number one. The place was dead (why I came early) and they said they weren't sure if they could do both at the same time even though there were about six of them just sitting around. Finally they agreed to it. I asked if I could move the back of the massage chair back a bit since it was so upright it was uncomfortable and she told me it would be $5 to turn the chair on.. That is maybe one of the most ridiculous things I've heard. To round it out I has brought my own polish and explicitly told them so when I sat down and at the end she tried to tell me it we theirs and I was stealing. The head person told them it was in fact mine and to let it go. The whole experience was bad, from start to finish. Nails are okay, but there was minimal effort put into it and everyone besides the head lady was rude. Absolutely never coming back here again. read more
