Lighthouse recovery is as good as it gets! Foremost, every member of the staff loves what they do…read moreand they really care about the people they treat. The founder and clinical director Nate Lanthrum has poured his heart and soul into Lighthouse. Essentially, Nate customizes a plan for you, based on your goals and needs. He combines the most successful components of various addiction recovery techniques (including the most current treatment modalities) and has made something original. He's deeply intelligent, humble and he brings a great sense of humor into the recovery process. One of the most intimidating parts of entering a recovery program is the admissions. Marty handles the intake process for new clients and makes the process as easy as humanly possible. Marty's basic philosophy is "we will do everything in our power to work with you and get you the help you need." Lighthouse doesn't turn people away who can't afford the program because they actually care about people. If you have insurance then Marty handles that aspect for you and gets you enrolled. Lighthouse offers medication assisted treatment. Their on staff physician is Dr Steve Holtsford. He is incredibly down to earth, intelligent, and caring. I have not had such a pleasant experience with a doctor in ages. He is really thorough yet expeditious. You never feel hurried during your time with him. He encourages you to be gentle with yourself when you need medication, and he is more than willing to assist you in your goals of tapering off medications. Lighthouse is a world class institution. If you need help, if someone you love needs help, give them a call. Asking Lighthouse for help might be the best thing you ever do for yourself or someone close to you.

If you are looking for a counseling center that is going to help your adolescent through issues…read morethey are having, treat you (the parent) with respect and provide professional services, look elsewhere. The people that they have working there do not have your child's best interest in mind, only provide care if you have insurance and frequently bill you incorrectly. When you do have an issue with the billing, the woman who runs the accounting department, her name is Lynn, is gruff and is not afraid to give you a ton of attitude. Even others at this location who I have spoken to about Lynn agree that she has an attitude problem. Not a place to go when you need help.

Much like Steve I have a similar problem with the staff. The "attitude" that Lynn has seems to…read morecarry over to most of the staff. I went to a Christmas party there for my daughter and the staff really gave the people seeking help a hard time. Very demanding and it has to be done RIGHT NOW. I felt like I was back in high school dealing with mean teachers. There is a complete lack of respect from the staff and they don't seem to want to help at all. In fact, it seems like they are more interested in keeping you there. If you are 10 minutes late that's an absence. You pee in a cup with the staff standing right over you. And they lie to the courts about your progress. In my opinion they seem to stretch out the guests length of stay so they can get more money from them and as most of the people there are there because it was ordered by the courts. Its not a good thing when a counselor can threaten to report a positive drop because you don't do what they say. If you need treatment for addiction, don't go here. The staff has left their compassion at home(if they ever had any) and is out to take you for everything you've got.

I have to say that my time there was not great but it wasn't terrible the people that work there…read moreespecially for one CNA Mariah she really cared for all her patients she deserves a raise. when i first got there she really noticed that i was in major pain and tried to make me as confortable as possible. When she told me about options about the shower schedule she had to do a bed bath on me and treated me with dignity and made me feel confortable. From that day on i knew that while she was there i was in good hands with a caring person. There was a few more people there that always made me confortable and these people are the reeptionist i always called her georgeous and she called me hansome she made me feel at home i didn't get here name and i am sorry. there was two more people that really kicked my butt in therapy and they were Agnes and Ross they really worked me because they knew how bad i wanted to go home and they did not take it easy on me i appreciated that there were days when i got back to my room and just exhausted. This is the reason that this review is not five stars and it comes down to privacy. This is more for the second shift when the door is closed to the room it is only proper to knock and wait to be answered before coming in to the room. They had a habit of just walking in the room without knocking. There was a couple of times where i was in the bathroom and they just barged in and opened the door. Even though it is a kind of a hospital vibe when the door to the room is closed it should be considered being private and the courtesy is to knock not just walk in the door. if i ever have to go back for rehab i would go back to avondale

We moved my mom out of Avondale Estates of Elgin within 36 hours of her admission due to multiple…read moreserious concerns about her care. We requested a breathing treatment three separate times, and it was finally given about five hours later. The nurse then left the mask on and did not return for about an hour to remove it. Afterward, my mom was put to bed and the call button was left on the chair, out of her reach. Late that night, after 11 p.m., someone entered her room claiming to be a doctor. When we informed the facility about this the next day as we were arranging to remove my mom, they said they had no idea who that person could have been. Our mom has significant edema and needs to keep her legs elevated, yet the facility had no recliners available. Her only options were to sit in a wheelchair or straight chair with her feet down, or lie flat in bed. We were also told that walkers were not allowed, which raises serious questions about how patients are supposed to regain strength and mobility to safely return home. After a shower, the bathroom floor was left wet and never mopped. Our mom slipped on the wet floor while brushing her teeth. We reported this and told them we were taking her home and arranging home health instead. To make matters worse, when the home health provider called to obtain her records, their calls were not returned. Based on our experience, this was a subpar facility and we would not recommend Avondale Estates of Elgin for anyone needing attentive, safe, and responsive care.

I do not recommend. Office staff and Psychiatrist Dr. M Naidu are unprofessional. Their virtual…read moresystem is confusing and unreliable. Their website doesn't reflect the correct open time of 8am when she starts seeing patients. Office doesnt start answering calls till 9am. Inconsistent and confusing. Dr. Virtual Appointment was scheduled at 12:45p. I received first link at 12:59. 2nd link at 1p. I joined at 1p using the 2nd link. I was put into the virtual waiting room. She never joined, then I received a 3rd link at 1:26. So I dropped from the 2nd link and I joined that 3rd link and sat in the virtual waiting room for over 30 minutes and she never showed up. When I called they said I would be charged a cancellation fee. They said they were calling me , that I should have answered so they could let me know they were sending me new links. I didn't look at incoming calls while already on a virtual call with them. I had already seen links and was already in the virtual waiting room/s and had joined the 2nd and 3rd links when they came in. Then I rescheduled for an in person (2nd visit). My appointment was scheduled at 8:45am. I never got a reminder message. So I called at 8:07am to confirm and I got the message saying the office is now closed. So I go to website which states their hours of operation start at 9am (still states this). So I thought maybe they just asked me to be there 15 minutes before appointment start time. I got there at 8:50am. The doctor saw me and said I would have to schedule another appointment to have form filled out and refused to do it at that appointment because I was according to them "late": After I left, I noticed her office left me messages at 8:48am and 8:49 telling me I was going to be charged a cancellation fee. I told her I called at 8:07am. She told me I didn't call because her office staff picks up. So I showed her my phone and the outgoing call to her office. So I had to schedule a 3rd appointment at 8am on a 3rd day. When I was in her office I called her office I put it on speaker at 8:06am and I got message office was closed. She said she didn't want to talk about the cancellations and missed appointments. She said her office opens at 9am like the website says and the phones don't get turned on until 9 but makes appointments starting at 8am. They don't care about patients or the patient experience with their virtual system and confusion of office hours conflicting with what website says (9am) but they start seeing patients at 8a. They unfairly charge cancellation fees for missed appointments they never showed up to. Make you schedule extra appointments. They are full of double standards. Tell me to pick up when they call but their phones are not available at 8am when she starts seeing patients. They call leaving messages saying they are going to charge cancellation fees 3 and 4 minutes after your visit appointment start time yet she is always 15-30 minutes late. Their website does not reflect her office hours that start at 8am but her staff doesn't turn off , office is now closed until 9am. When I tried sharing my concerns and where confusion was coming from, she spoke over me. Did not feel heard at all.
