Northwest Orthopedic Surgery - Before and after...no more pain!

    Northwest Orthopedic Surgery

    (20 reviews)

After three surgeries from two doctors in this group, I'm fully qualified to review their practice…read more My first surgery was by Dr. Tingle, who repaired a torn (shredded) rotator cuff. I saw several other orthopedic doctors over the years who misdiagnosed the problem. Rehab only made it worse. When I was referred to Dr. Tingle, he did a CAT Scan and saw a small tear. We scheduled the surgery, and he found the tendon had completely torn off the shoulder. Their surgeries are done in the Outpatient Surgical Center at Northwest Community Hospital. The recovery from this kind of surgery is long and painful. It's been over seven years, and I almost have full motion back to that arm. In fairness, I was very flexible, so I have better than 100% of a normal range of motion, but I can't quite reach where I used to be. I started having problems with my feet a couple of years ago. Bunions were growing on both feet. They were tolerable until they were not. Dr. Abraham works on feet, and I saw him at the beginning of 2022. I had surgery on my left foot in March. He warned me that the big toe was very arthritic, and he wasn't sure how much ligament was left. If it was bad, he said he might need to fuse the toe. If not, he would ease arthritis and correct the bunion. He suggested that if he felt the fusion was needed during the surgery, he would stop so we could discuss it. I did not want two surgeries on the same foot, so I told him to fuse it if it had to be fused. That's what happened. After I had two days of pain, then another. Six weeks in a boot with the ability to start driving again in two weeks was amazing. Two weeks after not using the boot, I went on an active trip to Ireland, which involved walking, hiking, claiming, and bicycling. and more. Aside from some expected swelling, I had no pain. It was great. When we returned, we scheduled the right foot in October. This was my dominant foot and my driving foot, so this would be personally problematic. The surgery went very well, and fusion wasn't needed. This time, a full eight weeks in the boot, plus two more just in case. I was able to drive at six weeks, What I find best about this practice are two things: (1) everyone on their staff is nice, attentive, and caring - from the front desk staff to the nurses and doctors, and even billing. (2) Their aftercare is second to none. Both Doctors always had time to talk, to see me if needed, and to ensure we had appointments scheduled until I would be released. While I hope I'll never have to revisit them, it is only since I hope I never need orthopedic surgery again. After a lifetime of activity and osteoarthritis, I'll likely return. After being released this morning, I learned that Dr. Abraham is retiring. He's giving up his practice to work full-time at the VA Hospital. What a mensch!

Dr. Goldstein was patient and very thorough. There were many complications due to my fiancé illness. I've called her I don't know how many times during this ordeal and she always followed up with us. I just want to thank you both for your kindness, compassion and professionalism. I had a hip replacement done previously by a different doctor that is no comparison to how my procedure went with Dr. Goldstein. The surgery went extremely smooth, minimal pain, expedient recovery and no horrific side effects. I highly recommend Dr. Jeffrey Goldstein for his skillset and procedures when it comes to hip replacements. I'm very grateful to have been referred to him; it changed my life.

From the initial call with the receptionist Vicki who was very thorough polite attentive and knowledgeable the friendly receptionist who greeted me upon arrival and Dr Forni himself everyone really made me feel good about going to the Dr. This practice was night and day compared to other medical specialists I have been to lately. I'm so tired of going to physicians and getting five to ten minutes of a specialists time being treated rude and like the provider is doing me a favor. I can't tell you how often I've thought how can a person who has to be making 300k plus and is their own boss be so miserable . Dr Forni is not that type of Dr he spent over and hour thoroughly examining talking to and explaining things to me. He seems a genuinely happy down to earth professional with a wonderful personality. He explained my issue was more of an acute than chronic issue and that in light of the fact my insurance didn't cover orthotics he could construct something himself to provide relief. He did just that saving me a lot of $ and right away I felt a difference. I don't understand how he doesn't have pages of great reviews he is a real gem and I now know who I will go to for any foot or ankle issues.

All I'm told is to exercise while my tendons are detaching from his surgery. He made me a cripple and praying my next surgery can repair the damage he caused. I'm told the wear and tear walking with a limp has caused my hip damage and told I'll now need a hip replacement from it. Beware! I have all the evidence in MRI. And X-rays showing the damage. Plus his bedside manner sucks. Not the most personable guy! But I don't care about that I cared if he was a good surgeon or not!

However, I take exception to his belief that he knows everything, including things that are outside his scope of expertise. As he was examining my hip, I mentioned how my chiropractor had told me that my pectineus muscle seemed to be the issue. Dr. Seeds responded by telling me how the chiropractor was blowing smoke up my ass, as the muscle is very deep and internal and impossible to examine/diagnose without some type of scan or opening me up. The PT that Dr. Seeds prescribed helped somewhat, but did not completely resolve my hip issue/pain. Still in some pain, I later sought out another doctor, who examined my hip with ultrasound. Lo and behold: my pectineus had quite a bit of damage in the form of non-thickness tears, corroborating the chiropractor's diagnosis. Turns out the snake oil salesman of a chiropractor could do what Dr. Seeds said was impossible. The only conclusion I can draw from this is that Dr. Seeds was wrong about what is possible because he doesn't know anything about chiropractic treatment/care/abilities. When seeing Dr. Seeds, my advice would be to trust him in anything regarding his specialty, but whenever he steps out of his lane take it with a grain of salt, as he seems to feel that the depth of his knowledge in his expertise allows him to make assertions about things outside of his expertise.

My doctor , Dr Thomas Shoenhofen sent me to Dr. McCall due to the severeness of the injuries caused by the falls. I made an appointment for the first available time nevertheless, the pain, swelling, numbness , tingling and color changes prompted me to ask to be seen by Dr. McCall as a "Walk-In", which is offered to patients unable to wait for an appointment. I was shocked, when the receptionist demanded I pay $350 in order to be put on Dr. McCall's waiting list, because she claimed my Medicare was suspended. I was not only humiliated and embarrassed by the receptionists ( there were 2 of them)., but also spoken to rudely and with no empathy whatsoever in front of a room full of waiting patients. I had no choice but to pay the money because of all the pain, etc. After paying the $350 on my Visa Nordstrom Credit Card and waiting more than 2 and a half hours, Dr McCall did nothing but look at mt leg and say there was nothing he could do to help. He asked if I had a wrap at home my reply was "no". He then wrapped the leg and said to see him in 2 weeks " But only if my leg was not better. We don't need to just visit" I then mentioned to him about the unprofessionalism of his receptionists. He stated " Isn't it nice to be able to be seen by the doctor as a walk-in?
