In the air I went landing squarely on my right side. At first I thought I was fine. I had pain but thought it would go away when the bruises went away. I was so wrong. The pain was there on and off, and then it was always there. It was the kind of pain that I learned to live with. I made adjustments around it. I slept only on my back with extra pillows in bed to prop up my legs. I had pillows tucked on either side of me so I would not turn over during the night because some sleep positions caused more pain than others. (My husband did not like that). Special pillows when I sat in chairs as firm chairs were unforgiving and caused sciatica pain. I had a special pillow for my chair at the dinner table. I even had a pillow for my lower back while driving. I could not stand for long periods of time. I could not bend down for fear of the shooting pain while getting up. I could not clean or carry moderately heavy things. Forget about exercising or taking long walks. If I did, I knew I would pay dearly for it less than an hour later. The changes I made in my life to accommodate pain were ridiculous. One Sunday evening while I was going through my "survival system", my husband said, "I've had it! You're going to get you back fixed. On a Sunday night, he made an online appointment through yelp for Serene Chiropractic. And Monday morning at 8:00 am someone from Serene called me and the rest is history. One day, about 3 to 4 weeks into my care I had a very shocking realization, I was no longer in pain!!! My husband began to notice I moved faster without wincing in pain. I could grocery shopping, and go for walks. I had no pain!!! My quality of life improved tremendously. My daughter even told me I stand differently...straighter and taller. She said I did not stand 'old' anymore. Ha! Dr. Sojitra is an excellent doctor!!! He helped me understand how the fall had taken my spine out of alignment, compressed the nerves in my spine, tilted my pelvis, as well as, the ways my body was trying to tell me it needed help. My spine was affected by the fall, my nerves, muscles, and my whole body suffered as a result. He put me on a intensive 3 month treatment plan to address my situation. I can truly say life is better without the pain.

My insurance was not in their network so they offered me cash pricing for x amount of visits. I started going & loving it. Chiropractic care was helping with my headaches & sinuses. Then Feb. 2014, after going for several months to Chiro One, I was in a major head on collision, 3 car accident. I called Dr. Jason and informed him about the accident and told him that the doctors suggested I not go to the chiropractor until doctor visits & physical therapy visits were completed. I talked to him a couple times during my recovery time to get his opinion on certain things. Then once released, I tried to go back to Chiro One to complete my remaining visits that were paid for out of pocket. I made an appt, went in, was re examined, spoke with Dr. Jason; he informed me he didn't have time to look at my new x-rays until later and he apologized, but I would not be able to be adjusted same day, to make an appt for tomorrow, so I did. I received a call from Dr Jason the next day stating that he needed my new insurance info. I told him I would provide it once we were done with the remaining visits I had, he told me that he would have to refund my money or roll the value of the remaining appts into a new plan, because the previous plan was no longer valid. I said let me know what the cash refund would be and we could go from there. With a phone call back in less than 5 mins, I was told that my remaining visits were worth $252.00, but that I could not get a cash refund. I would need to give them my new insurance info and they would apply the $252.00 towards my deductible on my new insurance. This is not the way I would do business, nor do I believe this is good business.

Excuse me for a moment while I get a bit personal…read more About a year ago I started having migraines almost everyday. As a 22 year old woman that had me worried, because I was in otherwise good health. It has truly been an emotional and physical battle for me. I felt debilitated by them and felt like I couldn't socially function anymore. I couldn't concentrate at work, I skipped classes because of the pain, and didn't want to go out with my friends, because I was always so fatigued. I was already through the ringer of the ENT doctor, and then at the time a neurologist. I was on a high dosage of seizure meds just to get the pain to stop. Then I felt numbing in my arms and legs (which was apparently normal) and felt very lightheaded, yet heavy. Not to mention a restricted diet. That medicine was concealing the pain and just hiding the problem, not fixing it. I knew that wasn't a sustainable option or lifestyle I wanted to live by. My experience with Chiro One started about a couple of months ago. I stumbled across the booth at the Green Expo at ECC and set up an appointment for me and my boyfriend to go in. I was desperate for anything. I have been going multiple days a week to get adjusted and do therapy on my neck (and back). Over time my headaches grew further apart and weaker. It felt like a miracle. It wasn't instant, but I have stuck with it for my well being and seen results I didn't even expect. I rarely have headaches anymore, and if I do I just do my exercises they gave me. The real shocker is that I don't take any meds! Plus, I can enjoy a nice glass of wine again! Dr. Jason and all of his wonderful employees have actually turned my life back into the right direction. I have learned so much about my health and gained friendship and guidance through all of these people. I feel much more full of energy, health, and happiness. So now my question is, what are you waiting for?

To be honest I was turned off on Chiropractor Therapy until I was diagnosed in 2008 with Fibromyalgia by my former Rheumatologist who has since left the practice and moved to Indiana. She explained to me how treatment and massage therapy would really help my Fibromyalgia issues and allow me to be more functional in my daily life. My primary care physician then told me there was a Chiropractor in the building next to him. I called my insurance and found out he was in network and that my visits would be covered, so I made an appointment for the very next day. I only wish BCBS of IL who administers I-CHIP would have told me up-front that there is a life-time cap on Chiropractic visits that one can max out in a years time. To help in treating my Fibromyalgia pain, issues from my Scoliosis and sports injuries I went to see him every week from 2008-2009 and had wonderful massages from the great massage therapists Brittney, Lurana, & Kari. In 2010 I went in September and December for treatment again. Unfortunately my Health coverage is through the State of Illinois and I have maxed out my lifetime Chiropractic Coverage for specific areas of my body. If I had the money I would go every week for the rest of my life for adjustments and massages. In 2008 or 2009 while I was being treated by Dr. Waldo I was having a quick bite to eat at my local Panera bread in South Elgin, IL and noticed an older woman sitting next to me in a great deal of pain. I chatted with her and told her all about Dr. Waldo and told her about my primary care physician Dr. Matthew Brandon and told her she needed some new doctors to help her feel better. She took my advice and both her and her husband went to see my PCP as well as Dr. Waldo and both are doing much better still. In addition I found out she only lives a few blocks away from me. Dr. Waldo and his entire office staff are very compassionate and personable, and you feel like your coming in to see a Doctor who actually cares about his patients and not a doc just out to make big money. Dr. Waldo's works with you and your insurance and with patients who can only pay cash. His office also sells a great line of supplements and homeopathic products from the following companies. www.numedica.com www.metagenics.com www.heelusa.com www.migrelief.com

I scheduled the second visit for 30 days out after that, I was stopped by a coworker, and was told that he could see that my workouts had been working. "I smiled " However, I did not tell him that I had not gone to the gym in about three weeks. I finally made an appointment to start chiropractor, adjustment; the reason for that decision is because I have been experiencing lower back pains for over four months, I couldn't lift my I couldn't lift my right leg on its own. I needed assistance by grabbing my pants leg and pulling my leg to get into the car, etc. after my 1st adjustment, I set set up on the table after the adjustments, and my back pain was gone; I thought OMG, this couldn't be, at this particular point it's been six days and I haven't had to take any Aleve or any over-the-counter meds, I am 68 years young, but I feel and walk 30 years younger than that. This is a game changer!

I went to this business with a little and occasional knee pain. I have confirmed osteoarthritis in…read morethat knee. It was on a special, something like $49 or $79, I forgot which but not much. I was looking for exercises I could do to strengthen the knee. That's all I wanted. They took X-rays and told me the other knee that I have no problems with was worse! They never mentioned the special and got me for over $500. They told me all the great things they were going to do. They called it physical therapy not chiropractic. They said they could have a therapist stretch my neck. I don't have problems with my neck but I thought a little neck massage by a therapist would feel good. So, when I got there for my first visit, they showed me a leg brace they wanted to fit me for. It was huge and covered most of the leg from the knee down. For what, occasional knee pain? I said no thanks. Then I went for "physical therapy". It was run by 2 young disinterested guys who talked to each other and obviously didn't care about the job. They were definitely not therapists of any kind. Next I went for a few minutes to the supposed real therapists and I thought, oh good, now he's going to massage my neck. No way! He never laid a hand on me. Only did something with a board that I can't even describe because I don't know what it did. Nothing as far as I could tell. Next I went to the nurse who would give me a gel shot in the knee cap. She did this and at my second visit gave me some little shots around the knee cap. The next day I went to the mall and had so much pain in my knee that I was limping down bad I had to go home. That was my over $500 experience with this place. I was worried about their diagnosis of the knee I had no trouble with, that the knee cap was out of joint, so I went back to the real doctors at Northwest Community hospital and got a real unskewed xray and they said that knee was fine. I quit Body Works after 3 visits and asked for the return of my money. I had been told that my insurance and Medicare would pay most of it. Now they told me, well it's not really physical therapy, it's billed under chiropractic and Medicare doesn't usually pay for that, but we will see. Now after months of reaching out to them, they finally told me that after 3 visits my $500 plus dollars was all used up and that I owed them even more but they weren't going to collect it! How nice of them! So go to Body Works if you want to see a real scam at work!
